History
Established in 1984.
It all started in a family kitchen in Ventura, California, when, as a young child, founder Peggy Dark fell in love with cooking. Her passion led her to University of California, Santa Barbara where she majored in home economics and then off to Europe on cooking tours. She eventually landed in Pasadena, California where she and her close friend, the late Nan Crocker, offered cooking classes. By 1984 these classes had created such an enthusiastic following that these two budding culinary stars succumbed to requests to begin a professional catering company. Word of their talent for preparing, presenting and creating fine food spread, and The Kitchen for Exploring Foods was born. Since that time, The Kitchen, located on Colorado Boulevard in Pasadena has emerged as one of the premier catering and event planning firms in Los Angeles, winning numerous awards and accolades.
