Avoid this company they have hidden fees. I was going to get some complimentary tickets to Dick Dale and when I process the order they charged me 28.50 for three tickets they told me that it was a free they charge per ticket of $ 9.50 what a f****** rip off. They used to be a reputable company now they’re just a rip-​off avoid avoid avoid at all costs avoid

Terrible!!! Why can’t I go onto their page on my mobile device to check what tickets they have available without a pop-​up window that forces me to sign up for updates, etc that won’t go away unless I enter my information in and sign up. I’m just trying to check your rates, if I like what I see and want to buy from you THEN I will sign up. Your service is not so amazing that I will allow you to force me to sign up, truth be told-goldstar’s prices for the show I’m going to see are exactly the same as the prices at the venue. Terrible.

pretty good. they will assign you NEW seats the day before a concert and then alert you that you NOW have NEW seats instead. BEWARE — they’ll let you know last minute. They will also claim that you now have better seats… really, so I move further away from the stage yet somehow magically the transformed to greater value seats! Oh okay — I’m dumb, I’ll do it

I have bought tickets through this service a couple of times. They do have legitimate deals and have seen a number of shows through the local theatre group.
The price tactics they use are questionable at best though. I was recently looking at attending an event and they advertised the price as $ 60 down to $ 30. When I checked out the original event page however the tickets where only $ 40 for the tier they were offering (not $ 60).
Notified their support, who just argued with me and told me I was wrong and was comparing the pricing in the wrong way. He was wrong as GoldStar hidden fees are the same as the original ticketers hidden fees.
Still a good deal in most cases, just don’t believe their original advertised price and always check the main ticketing site as you might find out you can get a guaranteed seat for only a few extra dollars.

Purchased some tickets for a football game as a surprise for my husband. Purchase was made on 5÷18÷2016 at 6:36 am. When I woke my husband he was pleasantly surprised but indicated that he had a business meeting that same day and suggested that I cancel the tickets. Emailed Goldstar less then 2.5 hours later at 9:36 am explaining the situation to them however they refused to issue a refund. Will be unsubscribing since I would not be doing any business with unethical companies !

I purchased four tickets for an upcoming Dodger game. It was advertised as $ 25.00 each for $ 42.50 each seats. On the website they showed me the sections I could be placed in. All of them were the $ 42.00 lower reserve sections on the left field side. The seat assignments I received were in the upper reserve on the right field side and they are worth $ 31.00. After Goldstar’s fees, I paid $ 32.25 each for those tickets. I sent an email to customer service requesting I be placed in the section advertised or be given a refund. This was Goldstar’s response:
«Thanks for contacting us. I do see that seating in section 22RS is located in the Infield Reserve section you purchased on Goldstar. As you were seated correctly according to your purchased section, we’re unable to offer a refund or credit for this purchase.
If you are unable to attend your purchased date, you may give the tickets to anyone who would like to go; they just need to bring printouts of the eTickets for entry.»
22RS is NOT my «purchased section» and I am fully able to attend. This is terrible customer service.

I will never use this service again. I bought tickets to The Little Mermaid event at the Hollywood Bowl. 2 minutes later I realized there was a schedule conflict and IMMEDIATELY emailed them (because they have no number, probably to avoid angry calls) to either get a refund, or exchange for a different day. I received an email back saying they couldn’t change my tickets «for that reason». FOR THAT REASON?! I emailed them back saying“what reason should I give you then? Should I lie?” They responded only with the same generic response. From reading the other horrible reviews, with the same experience on their Unilocal page, I can tell this is their MAIN issue! My recommendation: create a grace period, like Groupon. I’m sorry, in today’s day and age, you can’t have a zero refund/​exchange program. It’s completely unacceptable. I really think they paid the 5-​star reviews because they’re so generic (like the email responses) and clearly the majority of complaints about this site is their refund policy. Never. Again.

Don’t use this service. Anyone that does not want you to speak to a live customer service rep is a fraud. I ordered tickets for an amusement park & when ordering it only allows tickets to be purchased individually. I received one ticket right away and not the second. I attempted to call their corporate office but they do not accept calls. I attempted to email and according to their website I should have gotten a response in 26 minutes. After 5 hours & three total emails where I finally threatened them I get my ticket. Based on the fact that the website boasts they do not have telephone reps because they return emails so quickly & it took all day for them to get back to me they lost me as a customer. I still get emails from them but just so I know of upcoming events. I would rather pay full price than deal with them.

I made not one, but two mistakes and in both cases the customer service team was flawless. I had expected to have no service at all but boy, was I amazed. They cared about me and helped me. Well done, Goldstar!

Be careful purchasing tickets through goldstar! I purchased tickets being sold as «golden circle» and paid nearly full price plus their processing fees and was placed in the very back left corner of the the theatre. I was shocked and very disappointed with my seats after paying $ 25.00 plus goldstar processing fees when they were offering tickets outside golden circle for under $ 10.00 which were much better seats than my $ 25.00 seats. Customer service said there is nothing they can do for me since I didn’t save my ticket stub!
It ended up being a stressful evening due to the horrible seats and I feel I was ripped off.
Don’t say you weren’t warned about buying tickets blindly through goldstar. Much safer to buy tickets directly through venue especially if going on a date, you don’t want to look like you purchased the cheapest seats in the theatre for your date.

Goldstar posted the price of the tickets from the Cavalia show at $ 144.00 weekday. I went to their site and found that the price is $ 129.50 weekdays. When I contacted them about this, they tell me that they listed the price of the ticket WITH the fees from Cavalia. But when Goldstar posted their price they did not include their fees, so it made it look like a much better savings. I feel Goldstar misrepresented the price saving to their customers. The true savings was only two dollars, and I could have bought my tickets at a lower price from the vendor had I known at the time of Goldstars deception, but I trusted them. Goldstar should compare ticket price to ticket price with out the fees. Issue #2: I am a Red Velvet member and have been with you for a few years now. The Red Velvet service (that you have to pay extra for $ 49.95 per year) is supposed to allow you to cancel your ticket and use the money for a future purchase, but they do not tell you that it does not always work. Issue #3: Goldstar has Karma codes with a value of $ 10.00 to give to friends… but many times I have given them out only to find out that my friends did not get them. I have had to spend a lot of time contacting Goldstar about this and still it is a problem. In conclusion be aware of the exact price of the tickets you want to buy from the vendor do not believe what Goldstar tells you is the price. Find out all you can about other discounts that you can use before you buy with Goldstar you can save more money other ways at times… I thought I could trust Goldstar but now know better.

WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE
I had a gift from a friend to watch the «illusionist» on a specific day, I couldn’t make the event due to schedule, and I asked for credit or use towards the same show another day (they were only here for another 3 days), they responded with «we can’t accomodate, and that we lose money for the show, and if you would have emailed a few days before we could have made a difference» Bull crap, why can’t you now after the fact it isn’t a big deal to schedule another showing for the same show, and the company would not have had time to fill those seats in a matter of a day anyhow, its not like they are losing money.
In the long run they are losing me as a customer, which could have provided them a lot more money, I do buy tickets and I’m not going through GOLDSTAR
BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE THEY DONT REFUND AT ALL! RIDICULOUS!

This site delivered. I did run into a couple of issues but after a few emails with their customer service team, who by the way respond relatively quickly, I was able to get my issues resolved to my satisfaction and enjoyed the show. I would probably use this site again.

Goldstar does not care about its customers. They are only interested in making a quick buck.
Goldstar will not refund your money, so buyer beware.
Goldstar sells tickets that expire (such as to amusement parks) and once they do, they disavow accountability, especially when you ask for a refund.
Goldstar claims that they remind the ticket buyer to use the ticket before expiration. However, they are either inconsistent with this or do NOT send the reminder about the expiration.
Once they have taken your money, they will claim that they can’t refund the money because they already paid the venue. However, this is not true because Goldstar must retain a portion from which they make a profit out of. At the very least, they can refund that percentage.
Goldstar can give store credit as a refund but this is only on a case by case basis. In other words, they are unfair and inconsistent in their business practices.
Goldstar’s customer service is awful, they do not respond in «minutes» like they claim.
Honest and respectable businesses like Groupon and Costco offer returns and credit on their services and products. For example, with Groupon deals, even if the deal expires the dollar amount paid to Groupon does not expire.
Goldstar operates on a business model that is akin to Gift Cards when they first got popular. Buy a gift card, but if you don’t use it, it will eventually expire. Customers would then forget to use the card and the store would have kept the money without having spent their resources to provide goods or services in return.
However, since 2009, under federal law, «gift cards cannot expire within five years from the date they were activated and generally limits inactivity fee on gift cards except in certain circumstances, such as if there has been no transaction for at least 12 months». (

Goldstar should learn from these lessons and improve their business model before they lost customers.
I hope Goldstar gets it together because they have shown themselves to be a selfish company with extremely poor customer relations.

I have been a member of Goldstar for many years.
Recently, I asked for an adjustment on my reserved tickets to meet handicap needs I have due to foot surgery. My representative answered me immediately. She explained how the switching of tickets would work and my needs were met within 48 hours.

This is a garbage service run by garbage folk. I followed the instructions to purchase tickets as a Christmas gift for someone, specifically selecting the Print-​at-​Home option rather than the one which e-​mails the tickets to the recipient. Anyway, I completed the check-​out and received no confirmation e-​mail whatsoever, despite my card having been charged. I shot their customer service a quick message (as the Pasadena storage unit they likely operate from evidently has no phones) just to ensure the purchase was confirmed.
Got an e-​mail back confirming the purchase, and also confirming that they had sent the tickets to the gift recipient (I had no option but to fill in her e-​mail address during the ordering process, but there was nothing to suggest she’d be informed about it at that moment). Being 4 days away from Christmas, this was obviously not what I had wanted to happen, nor was it the option I blatantly requested. After informing them of this, I received little more than a «oops sorry lol merry xmas!!!» and that was that. I still haven’t been sent the Print-​At-​Home files I requested.
This is a company run by some of the most incompetent, uncaring pig-​people this side of Ticketmaster. Sure, you’ll save up to $ 5 a ticket, but it’s not worth the ballache. Absolutely haram.

For $ 43.00 I received some great advice from Goldstar customer service which I felt was far too steep a price to pay unless shared with the rest of the potential Goldstar consumers. On 10÷25÷15 I saw a great offer to attend Guy Torry’s PHAT Tuesday stand up comedy event hosted by D.L. Hughley and thought this is too great to pass up. I went ahead and attempted to place an order for two tickets for myself and my date at the VIP Tables which the site listed as having only 6 left while placing my order. At the conclusion of placing my order I contacted my date and gave the great news where she planned to venture cross town to meet with me on Tuesday 10÷27÷15 so that we could enjoy a night out of good comedy. When I placed the order the page read that the tickets will be Will Call only so I didn’t bother worrying too much about printing anything out. When she arrived around 6pm I pulled up my receipt e-​mail and noticed that it had me listed as having purchased a single VIP Balcony ticket and not the 2 VIP Table Tickets that I selected when placing my order. My assumption was that maybe due to the price difference maybe the venue uses the single more expensive ticket to keep their books accurate but to be sure I called the Nokia Theater who confirmed that I was reserved for only one seat at a VIP Table and that I would not be able to purchase a second VIP Table ticket at the full $ 50.00 price and still sit with my guest as they only had single seats left by then. They advised me to call Goldstar and request a refund which I was willing to do and simply purchase two available seats in the lower balcony or 2^nd tier floor (at least we would still be able to enjoy the show right?). So I go on the site and learn that Goldstar does not have a phone number that you can reach and could only be contacted via e-​mail but it also mentioned that the average response time was 21 minutes which gave me hope that it could get resolved before showtime. So I sent the e-​mail and waited for a response which first arrived at 7:35pm, of course that response turned out to be the suggestion to purchase a second ticket at the venue. I responded to let them know that would not be possible due to their status and asked for a resolution which in response I received the following:

I’m very sorry, but at this point, Goldstar is obligated to pay the venue for your ticket. Yesterday, immediately after your purchase, you were sent a confirmation page for one ticket. Had you let us know about the error yesterday, our options would have been different.
So ultimately I was left to pay double what it would have cost to go without using Goldstar in the first place or simply lose out on the rare opportunity at a date night. Prior to being a single father I likely would have just bit the bullet and paid $ 50 extra bucks for cheaper seats spending nearly $ 100 on an event that should have cost less than $ 50 to enjoy. I contacted Goldstar again and explained my reasoning for the delay in noticing the charge and requested for some form of resolution outside of simply saying, «tough luck, better luck next time.» and the now Supervisor responded that upon further review they will stick to their guns and offer no resolution. So as I said to them privately, I will say again publicly, thanks for the advice Goldstar. Since I contacted the venue two hours in advance and informed them that I would be unable to use the single ticket that they were holding I’m sure if someone was looking, it would have been re-​sold. Since all I got out of this experience was $ 43 advice and a ruined date night I was happy to share with everyone in the hopes that they won’t make the same mistake.

Deceptive practices; they issue credits they say you can use, but the credit expires the day you make a purchase, and as you are paying, the system does not inform you that you have a credit you can apply.

Goldstar Events is an online deals web site similar to Groupon, LivingSocial, and Half Off Depot, except Goldstar specializes in events such as sporting and entertainment events (e.g. music concerts, stage plays, musicals). Generally, I think all of these sites are great so long as you know exactly what you’re buying and you read and understand all the fine print and restrictions. That said, it’s hard to go wrong with any service that’s designed to save you money.
I’ve used Goldstar since 2010. Here are some examples of purchases I’ve made through Goldstar and how much money I saved:
— Cirque du Soleil: OVO
Regular ticket price: $ 75, Goldstar price: $ 45
— Movie tickets good at any Regal Cinemas theater
Regular ticket price: ~$ 10+, Goldstar price: $ 7.50 per ticket

Note: I did have to pay ticketing fees and/​or service fees on all transactions. These fees varied from event to event. In my experience, total surcharge fees ranged from a minimum of $ 3.00 per ticket to a maximum of $ 5.50 per ticket. While most tickets had a per-​ticket surcharge, the Regal movie tickets had «only» a flat surcharge of $ 4.75 — I ended up buying four tickets out of that deal, which I believe was the max allowed.
So, you may want to do the math with the extra fees added in to see if the Goldstar deals are still worth it to you. They were to me, even if there were just a few dollars of savings per ticket.
Like other deal-​of-​the-​day sites, I signed up for daily Goldstar emails to keep abreast of the latest offers. Goldstar’s site is straightforward and easy to use and the payment process is painless. Deal vouchers and emails have clear instructions on how to handle/​claim actual event tickets with the respective vendor. No complaints here.
Finally, one of my friends who uses Goldstar regularly, was able to send me a $ 10 «Karma Code» for a specific event. A Karma Code is a gift certificate code that members can share between one another. The code is only valid for the specific event and expires after 30 days. It’s just another benefit to using Goldstar.

Customer service is non existent here. Can’t even use my vouchers and they won’t refund because the have to pay the venue. Well they only pay the venue half of what you pay for them. Contact the place before buying on gold star they will give you the same price as gold star without the Hassel of using gold star. And they will work better with you if you need a refund. Gold star is a rip off

They cancelled my purchase because their system suspected fraud but my credit card company said they authorized the sale. Goldstar requires 12 hours to generate tickets so I didn’t have enough time to re-​purchase, as the event was in an hour…

I was shocked when I purchased tickets from Goldstar and needed to change the date. There weren’t tkts available for the date I needed and they refused to give me a refund because «the barcode had already been generated» and there was nothing they could do about that. REALLY??? In today’s age of technology? Even I could have figured out how to do that. Not to mention that their «fees», which one of the reps told me this is how Goldstar makes their money, were more than half of the cost of the tkts for this event. It was ridiculous. I think I’ll do what others said here — get ideas from them for events and then get tickets from other discounters. Very inflexible and poor customer service. Never again.

Good opps for low cost tickets, however, I usually only buy for General Admission tickets because you can’t choose your seats. Sometimes you don’t even get an idea of where you are going to sit until you get there. Another problem is that if you buy tickets for someone else, you can’t split them up to give to your friend ahead of the show. Sometimes we don’t all arrive at the same time, so this can be a hassle.
Finally, the discount price is sometimes jacked right back up to the non-​discounted price with all the fees. If I find a show, I’ll go look for another place for the tickets before purchasing to see if I can save on the fees and still get a discount on the tickets.

tried purchasing tickets on their App… and when I tried it said it couldn’t. So I tried a couple more times and got the can’t process message. and when I checked my Bank account they charged me $ 82.50 5 times and some stupid $ 1 charges. I sent them numerous emails because they don’t take phone calls (bullshit business practice) …and I called my bank and they said I might get my money back on Tuesday and today is Saturday… BULLCRAP!!! and to top things off they only reversed $ 1 of the charges… REALLY???

I’ve used them many times but often, I just look at their emails and website for ideas, then get tickets elsewhere. Why? Because they ADVERTISE great prices… like even complimentary tickets to some events — but then there will be a $ 6.50 «service fee» per ticket and on top of that, a $ 2 per ticket «agency fee». Seriously? For a print at home ticket?
So Goldstar does have it’s uses… but I find that I can get deals just as good if not better on other sites. This is a little too «scam-​y» for me.

I love Goldstar! It has made my life so much more exciting. We have events almost every weekend now. It is easy to find events in any area and the discounts are amazing.
I happened to purchase more tickets than I needed for a major event in LA so I contacted them and they immediately refunded my money. Just a few days ago the group that I purchased tickets for decided to change the date. I contacted their amazing customer service dept via e mail and within minutes my tickets where changed to the new date AND the agent located an even better discount for my group! All of this was done within minutes via e mail.
The message is that they offer great events at great discounts and in the rare event that you make a mistake in purchasing your tickets or need a refund they are very accommodating.
Our friends are always amazed at how we are always in the go and now they have the Goldstar app too.

Huge fan of Goldstar! They always have unbelievable offers, and the customer service is incredible. I sent an email about a slip up of delivery date, and I received an email response immediately with the date already fixed.
Highly recommend! Great deals and unbeatable customer service, and you can refund your purchase if you decide not to go last minute.

Very responsive and helpful customer service
Purchased a pair of highly discounted tickets to a nearly sold out show from Goldstar, but then had to change plans due to a conflict. My first reaction was to find a friend who would take the tickets off my hands, but no takers. Then I thought what the hell, let me email (email mind you, not even phone call!) Goldstar customer service and see if I can exchange the tickets for another show. Based on my experience with other vendors I did not even expect to get a response. To my delight and extreme surprise I got a response within two hours, my tickets were swapped for the date and time that I had requested and a copy of the transaction and a nice note from the Goldstar agent confirming what they had done for me.
These guys are great, and have made a dedicated customer out of me not only because of their very special deals, but mainly because of their amazing customer service.

We have been members for quite a while and we have saved a lot of money and experienced events that we might not have without access to Goldstar. I look forward to the emails that I receive and carefully review for items of interest to us. I most recently purchased comp tickets ($ 8 for a &35 value) to the Governors Island Crawfish Festival in New York. I highly recommend this service to anyone looking for deals!
