Their HUGE delicious apple fritters is what keeps me coming back! Pretty much all I come here for are the apple fritters. I love that the apple fritters are always crispy, mmm now I want one! If you come later in the day they might’ve run out, it has happened to me twice! The regular donuts are good too. Honestly, I’d rather come here to get donuts than Winchell’s. The staff is nicer here too! FYI-There’s a small parking lot behind the shop, but it’s shared with other shops.

BESTAPPLEFRITTERSAROUND! I’m a few cities away from Pasadena, but this is always my go-to donut spot. Nothing fancy, if you’re looking for gourmet, crazy flavors or whimsical designs. But if you just want a good, normal donut, this is the place. A quaint little mom ‘n’ pop operation run by a sweet husband and wife who seem to be the only employees. This means they won’t be able to handle massive orders on demand so, if you’re looking for 100 dozen donuts, call them a day or two in advance so they can accommodate you. They’re so nice, they’ll do their best to please! They stay open late for coffee and whatever donuts they have left. It wouldn’t make sense for them to make new batches at 8:00pm. That’d be a waste. So please don’t expect to come in at 9 at night to a case full of fresh fried goodies… That’s not fair. Get in before nightfall and enjoy some yummy donuts, croissants, muffins and pastries at a kick-ass price! And say hi to mom and pop. You’ll be glad you did!

Came on a Saturday around 2pm, they still had a ton of donuts left. I chose a glazed buttermilk and it was awesome. I could taste the tang of the buttermilk(thats pretty rare). It was perfectly balanced, not too sweet and nicely fluffy. Tried the 12 cent donut holes too and those were awesome. Definitely worth a stop.

Best Apple fritter ever! Nice and crunchy and not too bready like other donut shops. There’s something quite magical about eating the Apple fritter. It might have to do with my love for crunchy things like chips, fries, fried chicken and Apple fritter. This place does it the best!

Expensive, dry, worker barely found the energy to growl at me. Wanted to get away from that window as soon as I could. I drive by now, keep going and shudder.

I came here on a Saturday night around 8:30 so they were about to close. They didn’t have many donuts left :(Probably around 15 left? There were only 4 flavors(mostly chocolate). I wanted the blueberry donut but it already sold out, sadly! The donuts here are pretty original. Nothing too wonderful unlike M&M donuts in Anahein or Seaside bakery in Newport! It’s a great family owned donut shop to visit if you’re in the area and craving a donut not too far away though. The owner is pretty nice and the prices are cheap! Maybe come earlier and they’ll have a lot more to choose from! I ate a donut after eating Bonnie B’s next door so it was a perfect finish to my meal :)

I went in to get 3 dozen donuts for a party. I had a vision of making these neat donut towers topped with a donut hole each. Variety wise, it was average typical stuff, nothing especially outstanding. Price wise it was pretty good at $ 6.50/doz. Now all the donut stores I go to, if you order a doz they give you a free extra donut or a couple free donut holes. I got nothing here and they even shorted me one donut from my 3 doz order. Smh. Price gives it 3 stars, cash only.

The donuts weren’t bad, but they aren’t anything special. Pretty much the same as any decent, mom and pop donut shop across SoCal.

Donuts in open-back cases, no slide doors, no refrigeration, and no air conditioning in the shop means those donuts have been sitting out all day in 90 degree heat, and they look it. There were less than a half shelf of donuts out of two large cases. The place looked grungy and when I went there at night they had so few lights on that I thought they were closed until I saw the counter lady inside. I looked for a letter grade in the window as I left and there wasn’t one, making me think they get crappy grades and pull them down so no one will see. Also, although it’s not their fault, beware of their thug and junkie filled dark, secluded parking lot after nightfall. Park on the street if you really need a donut from this place.

Yes, the apple fritter is good. Real good, but not the best. The rest of the donuts are what you will find in any donut shops, none looked enticing enough, so i just went with the fritter. Prices well for the size at $ 1.30 it was huge, fresh, crunchy and filled with real apple chunks, nice. Service was very nice, there is a bit of inside seating and they serve coffee as well, worth the stop when in the area.

I came here and got the old-fashioned donuts and the plain donut. Because I love the plain donut, I can really tell if the donut is fried well or not. I’ve been to places where the donut just tastes like oil, but not here! The donuts were fried perfectly! I thoroughly enjoy both of my donuts and I will DEFINITELY be back!

Went in to buy some donuts for a night hike. Because obviously. I couldn’t understand anything the lady was saying, because of language and all that. «What’s this third one over here?» «That is a blabberwobberjabbernabberfabber.» «Oh? Okay, sure, that sounds great. I’ll take it.» What I DID understand was the lady explaining that I should be careful because somebody got shot while crossing the street weeks ago. This was in response to me telling her that I need my donuts double-bagged because I’m going to go hiking with them. I’m not sure how her advice was relevant, but I guess she deserves stars for looking out for me. I certainly reek of thug life, so I can see why she’d think I’d get shot. Haters be trying to catch me slippin’ even on a mountain, ya heard? Everything I got was good. At least according to the lady, who ate them all. I wouldn’t eat donuts, bro. Come on now; my body is a temple.

Location, Location, Location have you ever heard those words? Gladstone Donut House is located right on the South East corner of Lake and Washington in the North part of Pasadena… but if you’re headed North on Lake you might just drive on by and never notice this Gem, I know I did countless times and I usually notice everything. It was only one day headed South back down Lake when I noticed they really need a sign on the Lake side of the building… Pretty good size Donut shop so I really expected a better selection, Nope you’re limited to the basics BUT they do them extremely well… Bear Claw — This might look like your average donut, but your first bite will tell you it’s not, pillowy soft dough, nice cinnamon crumble on top and just look inside those claws they give you plenty of that apple/cinnamon mixture. Average selection BUT above average in taste!

I needed to pick up three dozen donuts for work and stumbled upon Gladstone Donut House on Unilocal. I was here around seven in the morning and I only saw a handful of glazed donuts in the display case. I asked the woman behind the counter if they had anymore, but she only had 18 total. I had her box those up and fill in the rest with cake donuts. I also had her pack a bear claw and of course an apple fritter since all the Unilocalers raved about it. The bear claw tasted like a crumb donut with apples inside. The apple fritter didn’t disappoint! It was perfectly fried; the dough was moist and not too doughy or dry like other competitors. GDH gets their morning customers in and out efficiently and it seems to be a popular joint as they had a steady flow of foot traffic. GDH is located on the southeastern corner of Lake and Washington. They have a small lot in the back off of Washington and street parking out front.
