Great wine selection with good help from the crew within your price range, Top shelf whiskeys and things when the budget allows, pretty fine other stuff when the budget is low. Fine beer selection and a nice selection of treats for the kids and grandkids.

Friendly staff, and excellent selection! They have a ton of good craft beers and usually have sales on their liquor, so I can procure a fine whiskey cheaper than the supermarket! They also have a great little restaurant attached and I’ve never been dissappointed. Haven’t checked out the cigar selection, but will do soon!

Last of the liquor stores that know their business. Family business. They have been beyond helpful over the years. Recommend.

Great for your last minute booze+party purchases. They carry fancy stuff here like yamazaki 12 and super nice wines as well.

The selection is crappy but honestly the worst part is the employees. They are rude! Went there with an out of state license and they turned me away and called me a liar. Whoever runs this places needs a reality check. There’s a trader joes down the street with a better selection, cheaper prices, and POLITE employees. I hope this place closes and something worth while opens up before I return to California again.

I’ve been here many times and every time I come I tried something new on the menu. I’ve haven’t been disappointed from this place and I can tell you that the prices are equally amazing and the people that work here are also super cool.
If you’re in the area you should definitely try this place! I guarantee you they will not disappoint, especially if you get the shrimp burrito or the turkey burger or falafel LOL they’re all good

The owner or employee is a retard! he charges me a minimum $ 5 and then .50 cents on top. this place sucks. The people and employee (s) are rude !!

So I walked In today jan 19 to buy a soda for the kids. The men at the counter were using such blue language that I turned and walked out.

Well stocked, well priced. very friendly cashier. local family owned set up. i will go here over the gas station for my quick buys. Definitely recommend

From the outside this place might look like any other liquor store, but don’t let that fool you. There is nothing typical about this place. Sure they have the standard snacks, sodas, and beer that you would find at any 7 – 11, but that’s where the similarities end.
The two brothers that run this place, Freddie and Louie, are the nicest guys you could ever hope to meet (started calling me by name on my second time there). They also have an incredible knowledge and selection of top shelf liquor, some of the best imported wine you would expect from the fanciest of restaurants stored in a temperature controlled room, giant collection of imported and local beer, and a large selection of fine cigars and tobacco.
Is there something you want for a special night or a product you buy frequently that they don’t carry? Just let one of them know and they will special order it for you or start carrying it for you.
This is the kind of place you want to have around, friendly service, family owned and operated, great selection, and competitive pricing.

Love Gerlach’s. They have anything you need, are helpful and I’m usually in and out quickly. Something to say for a clean, well-​stocked and efficient «liquor» store. It’s great to have this neighborhood icon.

The owner Fred and all the people he has working there are complete arrogant a-​holes.
I’ve been in that store several times over the years and every single time I go in there I always regret it. It has nothing to do with the selection of items they sell, I’m sure it’s just as competitive as any other liquor store in the area, but what really sucks about this place is the people that work here.
They are rude and they seem to be riding on a high horse all the time. Hopefully this post will let them know that people deserve respect common courtesy especially customers who spend money there.
If you can avoid going Gerlach’s, drive to another store in the area. Maybe someday this liquor store’s management will get the picture and develop a common sense of courtesy with customers. I for one will never step into that place again.

Don’t waste your breath if your from out of state! Went there for some whiskey their selection was pitiful and when I finally made a choice The cashier guy refused my ID and rudely! I have been their many times over the past year and never have had an issue so not sure why it’s a problem all of the sudden being that I’m am clearly well into my thirties! Anyhow ended up going to this little dive liquor store on arroyo by starbucks and they actually have a decent selection, at least in whiskeys. As well as amazing customer service! although they don’t carry wine worth checking out.

Great liquor store in Pasadena. Gerlach’s has an impressive wine and premium booze selection, they definitely cater to the local clientele and can meet most any need short of really high end specialty spirits and wine.
If you are a Crispin cider fan, which you should be!, Gerlach’s has you covered. Best part is they carry the Crispin Brown’s Lane English Cider, the greatest damn thing ever put into a can that isn’t a Spaghetti O! If you go in for some Brown’s Lane of your own and they are sold out, its probably because of me, sorry but its just so damn good.

So the bf and I have a love affair with wine. This place has our favorite in stock: Rubicon. Bought two bottles for Christmas dinner last year and they were as tasty as ever. Great service, great prices. Need I say more?

A Morrisey x Gerlach’s Drive-​In mash up… hmmm

I was in search of some Japanese Whiskey called Yamazaki, and had just left Bevmo empty handed. I was at the corner of Glenarm and Fair Oaks and rememebred that these guys sell premium spirits and wines.
I parked and walked in and the dude at the front quickly made eye contact and I asked him if they carried the whiskey I was looking for. He just shrugged and said, «yeah, I don’t know.» I had to take a deep breath to compose myself. I hate when so-​called fine spirit dealers can’t even give you a simple yes or no answer. What the fuck does «yeah, I don’t know» mean? I stood there like and idiot trying to play it off staring at the premium spirits before I walked out.
People, if you don’t have something in stock or know what I’m talking about you’ll have to default to exceptional customer service to save the sell. That’s the only way to redeem yourself. Gerlachs failed in that department.
So why did I give them a 1 star review? Yeah, I don’t know.

Walk-​in temperature controlled wine cellar! Gerlach’s is AMAZING.
I was on my way out of Pasadena for dinner and needed a white wine. I could have gone to BevMo or another wine shop, but I was in a hurry and the wine would have been room temperature. Here’s Gerlach’s to save the day!
I rolled up, parked in front of the store (old school style in no designated parking stall) and walked in. I headed straight to the wine cellar. They had a good selection with wines priced high and low. I found a staff recommendation note about Chasing Venus Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand. It said the wine was fruity and refreshing. Sounds great, but it was sold out. I headed to the back of the room and saw a (colder) refrigerator containing champagne and white wines. There it was! Chasing Venus 2009! The last one!
It was $ 10.99. A good recommendation that easily met my budget.
