So this will be my updated review on this place, let’s start off my saying they never answer their phone. I called Saturday to make an appointment and was told they would call me back with appointment availability and I waited and nothing. My fiancé and I had took a Tacoma a couple years back and they messed up the Tint, after reading their updated reviews I decided to give it another try. Yesterday my fiancé took our 2017 Subaru Sti for the Formula One and sure enough when he got home they didn’t put back a clip on the panel and if raddled the whole way home. This place has crappy customer service and their techs don’t give a crap. Very disappointed
**** Update, so today the owner (Ricky) reached out to me and was extremely helpful, my husband took back the Subaru and they added the missing clip and also tinted our front windshield. Owner went above and beyond to keep us customers and I must admit he won our business back! I guess I rated them 4 stars for having to go through all the trouble to make it right.

Ricky is all about quality work and customer service. Before getting started, I let Ricky know my concerns with the dot matrix on the border of my windows, and he clearly explained what to expect. I was also concerned with dust particles that cause tiny bubbles in the tint. G5 in Pasadena has an enclosed facility to minimize dust particle contamination. I went with SunTek CXP and am very happy with the color, quality and amount of heat reduction.

Ricky, I don’t like the job you did on my car… but I LOVE it!!! I like to give you… You ‘re so professional and helpful. No hustle and high pressure sales person when you first step inside the building. Ricky will make sure you happy with the service!!! I won’t think twice to recommend people that I know to come to G5. I dropped by today hoping that G5 could help give advice on the clear bra that the dealership installed on my Porsche that had formed a minor air/​dirt pocket. Ricky was super helpful and expertly wen above and beyond and solved the problem for me at no charge even though the original install was done by someone else. I’ve had my previous car’s tint installed by G5, and it turned out awesome, and the «customer care» is fantastic here. Its not wonder that they have a 5 star rating. Thanks G5!

Got my car tinted here on ⁶⁄₂₂. I was lucky to get a same day appt (I think someone cancelled and a spot opened up). It took about two hours, staff are friendly and the work is great. All their tint films come with warranty (save your receipt for proof of purchase) and it can be replaced by any store that carries the brand. I would highly recommend this place if you are looking to get your car tinted!

This tint shop is the absolute best! I’ve gotten 4 vehicles tinted, 3 at the Alhambra location and 1 at this location in Pasadena. I was helped by the absolutely wonderful Olivia who went through all of the tints they had available and made me feel comfortable on my decision to go with Formula One Pinnacle 15%.
The quality of their work is second to none, I’ve seen work that other companies do and especially that $ 60 swap meet work doesn’t even compare. They take care of your vehicle, wrap the doors and always leave the tint looking perfect. I didn’t get to meet anyone who worked on my cars but I wish I could thank them for doing such an amazing job.
Call early if you need to make an appointment for Saturday! They get booked real quick!

Highly recommend this place! I got my front two windows tinted today since the back are already factory finished. They matched it clean with a 20% carbon film. Highly satisfied customer! Will send friends this way for tints! :) customer service was awesome too! I initially called in the Alhambra location and no one answered then a couple minutes later I get a call back and they’re were booked for the day and made an appointment for me for the Pasadena location and even texted me the details. Good business for sure!

What a great business. I mean that. I am a loyal customer to G5 and have personally brought in 3 of my cars, and referred 3 other cars from family members to see Ricky and the great workers of G5.
I mean it when I say, you go to G5 to get the best done. Ricky knows his stuff, and understands what the customer would want. When purchasing my new car, I already knew I was going to get tints done with G5.
Since I already had SunTek on my previous car, I knew how much heat reduction would be when installing the new tints on my new car. So I went a similar route again, but this time with my new white Honda Accord.

Get your tints done here. Best quality, and service. There is also a waiting area for you guys if you want to wait as well as complimentary soda and water. I just walked to the Starbucks off of Hill to get some work done.

Called up G5 tint shop on a whim and spoke to Ricky who was super nice, informative, and friendly. Gave me the rundown on different types of tints, how certain shades would look on my car based on the color and interior, and even placed different films on my window so I can see how it’ll actually look.
I waited for about 2 hours and they were done. My car looks even sexier than before and their work is super clean and precise: no gaps, bubbles, or bullshit. I love it! Definitely will recommend this place to anyone who wants to get their windows tinted!!!

Ricky and team hooked my new car up with some awesome tints! He was having issues with the defroster strips in the back windshield being too thick but he took the extra time to make sure that they stick correctly. He is very detail oriented and the tints are flawless all the up to the edge of the windows.

All I can say is Ricky knows his stuff! Brought in my 2016 Smart car to have all windows tinted but the front windshield… left with every window tinted! And I’m glad I went with Ricky’s suggestions on the tint choice!
Expect a good wait time, even with an appointment. But boy was it worth it!!! My car looks super cool and the tint is great! The detail and workmanship is perfect!

Just brought in my new car today to get it tinted. I researched all of the window tinting places near my area. But seeing the reviews of G5 made me comfortable and confident with where I wanted to go. Ricky helped me out and even let me come after work. I made it there fast and he still a still answered all of my questions. At first, I wasn’t too sure about how dark I should go. But he even let me look at the differences between the 35% and 30%. I went with the 35% in the front and 15% in the back. Ricky was very professional, personable, and knowledgable.
I really love the work he did on my new car. It was perfect and he even told me the aftercare instructions. My car looks even more cooler now. I can now call it my own. Ricky was very patient and delivered excellent customer service. ¹⁰⁄₁₀ I highly recommend G5 and Ricky for their exceptional work and customer service!

I’m a returning customer to G5 and let me tell you, I now remember why it was a no brainer for me to come back.
I called in about 5 days before my appointment and it was very straight forward. I was given times available for the day I picked and I was given a reminder the day before my actual appointment.
I arrived on my appointment day and the first person I meet is Ricky. He is extremely knowledgable about all the products in the market and was very informative. I was told it would take about 2 – 3 hours for my tint to be applied. I chose the Pinnacle Series ceramic coat. Less than 2 hours later
I received a call from them notifying me that the job was done. The moment I saw my car I was astonished. The attention to detail Ricky and his team has is amazing. I’m very happy with the results and I highly recommend G5 not only for the quality products and labor, but the top notch customer service as well. I will be returning again the next time I need to spiff up my car with new tint!

I’ve been wanting my car windows tinted for a while now and finally decided to go for it today. I called the Valley location first but I guess they’re always booked so I was recommended the Pasadena location if I didn’t want to wait. The girl on the phone (I didnt catch her name: l) was very helpful and ready to answer any questions I had. She scheduled me right there on the phone for the other location and even though I got there late, Stephanie was really friendly and helpful. I had no idea what kind of tint I wanted for my car, I just knew I wanted heat protection and for the tint to be the darkest it can be, while still street legal. After hearing all of Stephanie’s suggestions, I went for the Formula One PInnacle Ceramic all around my car (5% tint, 65% heat reduction on rear doors and rear windshield; 30% tint, 57% heat reduction on front doors) except for the front windshield and it came out to $ 425. ($ 420 with the $ 5 off check in.)
They informed me over the phone that the wait would be about 2 hours, but I only waited one hour. They have free WiFi, a TV, and free sodas in the lobby so time went by really fast.
Stephanie was super nice and and the tint looks amazing. I’m so glad I came here and would recommend this place to anyone!

I brought my new Audi A6 in to G5 for tint. This is my second time getting my car done by Ricky. As always, Ricky and his staff provide the best customer service. They really go above and beyond to explain the choices available and make sure you get exactly what you want. This time I decided to go with the Formula One Pinnacle tint all around at 35% and the tint looks perfect while rejecting heat. Do your research before having your tint installed. It’s not about what tint you get but who the installer is. Ricky and his team are the best at what they do which is why I have and will come back for my tint needs.

Took my beater van that I had just purchased here since it came with a ghetto-​fabulous tint job that caked on the windows. (If you’re wondering why I would tint a beater van — I use it to lug stuff around, and sometimes that stuff is stuff I don’t want anyone else looking at).
They took an extra day to take off the ghetto tint properly, and then applied their «entry level» tint (15% front, 50% everywhere else).
Results have been wonderful. Driving at night is no longer dangerous. Items are stored securely in the beater van. All is good.

Needed some tinting done, so I decided to hit up G5 since they had so many great reviews.
And the reviews weren’t lying ! :) .
First off, the lady in the front desk is very nice and knowledgable on the tints, she was able to answer all the questions I had. Not to mention the GM Ricky, such a down to earth dude, who took good care of me. I went with their standard film (llumar) 20% all around. And it came out REALLY nice ! They really did a clean job. You can tell he’s really passionate about his job, and likes what’s he does, and not just there to make a quick buck outta me, like other tint shops I’ve been to. Overall they are very professional and did a wonderful job :) definitely bringing in my girlfriends car to get tinted next time .keep up the awesome work G5 !

This is my second time getting my car tinted by ricky. I got pinnacle 30% i believe (the middle one). Ive always been satisfied with ricky’s work so i definitely knew i wanted my car to be tinted by ricky this time as well. I know he stands by his workmanship and his products. Being a caretaker for a classic BMW makes me the type of person to be very particular in the work that is done to my car. The overall goal I was going for was to protect my interior from damaging UV rays and keep the inside temperature at a low but didn’t want a «tint shade» look. Basically I was going for a clear unnoticeable tint to preserve the classic car look.
G5 went above and beyond to accomplish this! First off, Ricky was very helpful and provided great information to the questions and concerns I had. The nice lady up front said the job usually takes up 2 – 3 hours to complete. My particular car being a classic took almost 6 hours to complete due to it being more difficult then modern cars today. Ricky and crew pretty much had to take apart most of my interior in order to have a pristine seamless look. The level effort they went through in order to accomplish the end goal was amazing. I am very satisfied with the look and feel of the tint and highly recommend this place if you are looking for specialized detailed tinting for your car.

My boyfriend went to G5 Tint shop today to get his dad’s 2015 Hyundai Sonata tinted.
Ricky was very welcoming and professional. My boyfriend didn’t know what type of tint he wanted but Ricky was extremely patient, and walked him through the whole process! The service was prompt as Ricky was very accommodating. My boyfriend, who is very … particular with EVERYTHING was pleased with the results. Ricky earned my boyfriend’s trust and now he’s considering bringing his Cadillac in to get tinted too!

Had the pleasure to have Ricky the owner of the business to work on my 2015 Rolls Royce Wraith. I usually prefer not to give out positive reviews because I rather keep those hidden gems for myself.
Since Ricky went above and beyond to make things right for me, I felt compelled to praise on his business ethic and his friendly service.
But what about their work? Is it any good? Most people that are glossing through reviews are looking for those answers. The answer is YES!!! I love my Huper Optik tint on my Rolls Royce. The installation was superb and I would bring my other exotic cars here to get applied. The rear windshield on my car slant so severely, it’s extremely difficult to execute. Few other places were nervous about taking the job, they turned me away. G5’s pricing is better than most based on degree of difficulty on the car.
Their new Pasadena location (circa 2015) is super clean and the bathroom is modern looking. One of the better showrooms I have visited in the automotive world.

G5 Pasadena recently moved to this shiny new location, hence the low number of reviews. Mind you, they had over 150 five star reviews over at their old shop, all gone because Unilocal won’t port the old ratings over. I mean c’mon!
You’d think that with the business booming, the upgraded shop, and the megaloads of exotics coming through this place, he might get a little cocky or even become a bit inflated. But no, Ricky is a patient, professional, and just a straightforward down-​to-​earth kinda guy. He offers honest opinions on each type of film, explaining thoroughly the pros and cons of each, including how the tint will interact with your car, and most incredibly, won’t try to upsell you. Are you running a business or a charity? I don’t even know!
So quit looking at other Unilocal reviews of shady tint shops. I drove all the way from south OC in heavy traffic, but it’s well worth it. The prices here are unbeatable, and the workmanship is incredible. Definitely one of the best tint shops in LA!

I can’t say enough about G5! Professional, good humored, great price, and couldn’t have imagined a better job done. Truly. From start to finish, Ricki and his team were awesome to work with. I called G5, spoke to Ricki, and set up a time to come in the next day with my car. When I got there, he joined me in looking over the car and discussing various options to achieve the look and heat reduction benefits I was hoping for. He was patient, no rush at all, showed me some other cars and tints, consulted on options, and we matched up some tints on my car to see the effects. I was a little unsure about percentages, and ultimately went with Ricki’s opinion. Thank God I did. Exactly what I wanted, and an amazing job.
Work Details:
I didn’t want too much of a matte contrast, and was looking for something more classic that would blend nicely with the car (and heat UV reduction was important). So I ended up going with Pinnacle FormulaOne Series ceramic tints with 35% all around. For anyone wondering about %, the car has a dark interior and I’ve added some pictures.
I was amazed when the car was done. Couldn’t have been happier with how it came out, and the ceramics definitely make a huge difference in blocking the heat. The guys at G5 definitely take their time to make sure the job is done right, and you can tell they take pride in their work. No scratches, dust, small imperfections, etc… not even on close inspection. The job they did was seriously flawless! What’s also great, is they run the tint right up to the top edge of the window, and perfectly smooth it at the edge like a factory tint. Looks awesome.
If you’re trying to decide on a place to go for tinting, skip the hassle and call G5. Nothing beats the piece of mind knowing that you’ll get an amazing job done, it’ll be done right, and at a good price. This is now the only place I’ll take any future cars. Thanks guys!

I’ve been on the search for tint in the Pasadena, CA area for quite a while and just couldn’t find a place where the customers seem satisfied until I came across G5 Tint Shop. I had to check it out as they had almost 300 reviews and 5 stars! G5 Tint recently moved to a new Pasadena location which wasn’t a problem for me because they are still close by (

The manager, Ricky was very helpful as he explained each type of tint to me. I explained to him what I wanted on my car and he narrowed it down to 3 shades of tint. I ended up with 20% all around my car. He went above and beyond to show me how the tint is carefully placed onto each car with detail. The tint job did not take long and there is a waiting area with complimentary cold drinks with a tv to watch! When my car was done, I was amazed at how nice the tint came out. The workers were patient with me and explained how to take care of the tint. Before I left, they made sure I was satisfied with the shade, tint, and how everything came out. My car is significantly cooler and keeps the sun out.
G5 Tint is very professional and exceeds customer satisfaction! I highly recommend this place for anyone who is looking for high quality tint. To top it off, I found out they have an Alhambra, CA location too!
