Description

Specialties

Flintridge Center provides reintegration support, workforce development, mentoring, and violence intervention/prevention services to community members in need.

History

Established in 1986.

Our community focus originated with the work of the Flintridge Foundation, which operated between 1986 and 2007. Governed by a board that grew to include both family and community members, the foundation made grants in four key areas – environmental conservation, theatre, visual arts and community services, which supported local community-based organizations.

By design, Flintridge concluded its grantmaking programs in 2007, expending the majority of its assets in the priority areas it had supported. However, when it emerged that the loss of local programming would leave deep service gaps, the remaining assets were used to form a new entity – Flintridge Center, a 501©(3) public charity – that would continue services in Northwest Pasadena and West Altadena.
