E-​Central has amazing customer service. They answered all the questions and concerns I had. Elizabeth Carrillo and Christina Rodriguez were very helpful in the member service I recieved while filling out the paperwork for a car and loan. Thank you so much.

Just completed a mortgage refinancing with E Central. Everyone was professional and kept me fully informed every step of the way. The deal was complete in 30 days. Last time I refinanced with a major lender it took almost 18 months… that’s another story. Highly recommend E Central Credit Union.

E-​Central is my go to place for my auto loans. I love to have my «Pre-​Approved» amount and rate from E-​Central before I head out to the dealerships. Both times I have dealt with the dealerships they were unable to match what E-​Central offered. Their service is also very personal and attentive. Charles B was always there to answer all my questions and provide his knowledge and guidance. I also never had to step into any of their offices because everything was handled online. I would definitely recommend you check out E-​Central before going out to other places for your financing needs.

I’ve been with this credit union since 2006 and have had nothing but a good experience. I’m really shocked there’s so many bad reviews.
I will say that lately when I call I am on hold for a long time and it is very frustrating. I expressed my concerns and was told that they are short of tellers so I don’t want to hold that against the bank overall. I’m hoping that they will fix this and hire someone soon.
I also am not sure why everyone is saying they put a hold on your deposits. That’s false, I have never had my deposits held.
You cannot compare a credit union to a regular bank so maybe some of these folks are confused. Idk, but I love E-​Central

Just poor service all around. The hold on check and ATM deposits are ridiculous. Not convenient at all. Have to stay on hold for more then 15 minutes to speak to a member service rep. If you are looking for convenient look somewhere else.

Customer service is absolutly horrible. I’ve had an account with them for over 15 years. Initially the service was good when they were Commerce Federal Credit Union, then when they became E-​Central everything went to hell. Every time I’d call for some assistance with my account, the folks on the phone were always rude. Don’t use this credit union. I finally had enough and closed my account.

STAY AWAY FROM THIS BANK!!!
They hold your deposits for the whole 5 business days, not up to 5, ALL 5.
In my previous bank i never had any problems accessing my money, i could deposit at an atm and have it all be available in my balance for any payment that came through. No holding of checks. Not so with this bank!
I foolishly gave them my money by depositing 2 checks totalling $ 1100; one of them was a PAY ADVANCE, meaning, I needed the money BEFORE pay day… so I make the deposit, because i needed the money and some payment went through. I check my account a coulpe days later to realize they are holding my funds, and due to the activity in my account there are now 6 overdraft fees, because unlike good banks they chose to hold my money. They were «gracious» enough to take 2 of the 6 overdraft fees away and a couple days later, when my direct deposit came through, my funds were not available because they were still holding that initial deposit until next week (deposited on a Wednesday and my funds not released until the following Tuesday. So I was completely screwed, I had a balance of $ 1700+ and about $ 700 worth of bills due on that payday, and only $ 400 were made availble.
Not only was there the hassel and punishment of the overdraft fees but i was unable to meet my fianacial obligations on pay day, despite having more than enough money to cover them because they were holding my money hostage. I had 2 past due bills this check was supposed to cover, my gas, internet and phone service were all cut off by paydate and this was supposed to bring all my bills to current and restore service, instead I had to wait from Friday till Tuesday, without gas, phone or internet because they wouldnt release my money.

Talking to a manager made no impact since once again all that was reiterated was that my funds wouldnt be available until the following Tuesday. So on Tuesday Im going down there to close my account and take my business to a bank that trust me and understands that hard working people have bills to pay and need access to their money without the ridiculous hassel of a 5 day wait that completely screwed up my finances and made me go back on payment agreements i had made.

Been with this bank for years since 2006 and for the first time i deposited a check in their deposit box that was pay to cash and i got a phone call from a bank rep advising me that they are not able to deposit the check unless its payable to my name! They say they dnt accept checks that is pay to cash due to their bank policy! Where in the universe wld u get this reason not to deposit a check that is payable to cash??? Is this bank out of this world? And yes they do have very rude representatives answering the phone and talking to u like ur stupid! and when they cut off my atm card due to identity theft it takes them 7 to 10 days they say to send u a new one and not even a temporary card! And whats worse i paid for expedite and guess what it took longer! And all they can say is sorry and alot of excuses!!! Worst bank policy and bank representatives.!i will soon move my direct deposits to my other credit union!

I have used E-​Central for many years, mainly as a savings account. I don’t access it often, however, I have always had access to my account through ATM when I need it. Well there recently came a time when I needed to get money out. The ATM ate my card and never gave me the money! I finally called to find out why and they told me that it had expired. I told them that I never received a new one. They said «that is because you didn’t use it much so we just didn’t send you a new one.» What bank doesn’t send you a new card before it expires???

Been with them since last year and yet to have a good experience. First off the hold on deposits is ridiculous, if you deposit on the weekend you will have no money until the next business day. If you deposit with a check it takes about 5 days to clear before you get an available balance. Secondly, there is a lack of professionalism from there telephone bankers and it’s quiet annoying and frustrating. I have called multiple times and I always manage to get someone who speaks to me with the most condescending voice ever. They speak to me like an idiot and they make me feel dumb for asking questions. I’m fed up with this company and I will no longer be doing business with them.
P. S. Never go to the commerce office to look for an ATM. There isn’t an accessible one after hours. Monday-​Friday 8 – 5. You’ll end up driving to Pasadena to make a deposit just to realize none of your money is available.

I’m happy to report that E-​central has redeemed itself in my eyes. It took about a day, but the manager called me back and was totally patient and clear in explaining their policy on fraudulent charges. Amazingly, they really do expect you to go file your own police report for certain fraudlulent charges, but the rep who told me that it was required on a $ 40 error was apparenlty imagining things.
Now, my rule of thumb is that if you piss off a customer, you owe them one and should do something to atone for the mistake. Any symbolic gesture will do. E-​central did no such thing. I had to call the cab company, explain that my credit union was requiring a police report, and that scared them into reversing the charge right away. But still, a polite chat with the E-​central manager is enough for me, so they get the third star. If they hook me up with a sweet car loan, I might bump it up to 4 ;-).
All in all, that little bit of headache is worth it to not support Smells Cargo anymore. Those people are a bunch of sociopaths.

Just left Chase Bank– finally after their takeover of WAMU it’s been nickel-​and-​dime for every service (and poorer service at that!). I got a car loan with E-​Central 2 years ago and was just in the branch and saw their checking account services– GREAT CHECKING ACCOUNT! No annoying monthly fee and they don’t charge for a debit card. When I call, I can talk with a real person. They offer services I never had available before and I can’t believe it took me this long to get away from Chase. Great customer service, what a concept…

I moved my money to E-​Central a couple of years ago after being fed up with my «too big to fail» bank. I’m happy I did.
When looking for a credit union, I chatted with a couple of friends, co-​workers and family members. The name that kept coming up was E-​Central, so I figured I’d give them a shot. I met with a very nice woman who answered all of my questions. When I finally decided to move my money, she made the transition easy.
So, I’ve been with E-​Central for a few years now. They’ve always been extremely professional and personal. I recently applied for a loan. I thought my odds of success were slim, but the loan agent went to bat for me and I secured the loan. I was… and am now, impressed.
