Design Forward

We worked with Lisa on our residential home addition/​remodel project in Pasadena. After living in our house for a few years our family definitely had some «ideas» for our home remodel and addition. Lisa really collaborated with us; listened to our needs, reviewed our «plans» and gave us in return an amazing living floor plan that we are thoroughly enjoying today. The light, air and people move through our home beautifully. She stayed engaged and provided input throughout the build process as well. We have and will continue to recommend Lisa Swan and Design Forward to our friends and family.

Hate to write a bad review but…
We were looking for an architect to help us with the renovation/​redesign of a new house my husband and I just bought. I called Lisa and when she answered it sounded like she was dealing with her kid (s) and she was a little short. I thought, ok, everyone’s got stuff going on and she’s a professional mom, juggling career and kids. She asked me to email her so that she could be back to me. I emailed and never heard back from her by either email or phone.
Maybe this wasn’t a job she was interested in, may residential remodels are not her thing… guess we’ll never know.
Fortunately we found a great architect who is environmentally awar, has prepared our plans and given us a great design solutions for some problem areas.

I’ve been getting the Design Forward newsletter for years, all on sustainable architecture, and green topics. Excellent source of information on local green fairs and building workshops. They are also very involved in building both private and community buildings, using green techniques, such as straw bale construction.
The owner, Lisa, also teaches community services classes at Glendale Community College, on how to green up your home, both by being energy efficient and ecologically sound, and by saving your «green»!
