History

Established in 1975.

We started business at the Union 76 station on Altadena Dr. and Washington Blvd. in Pasadena in 1975. Since then we have continued to grow and cater to our customers at our new location at 1899 E. Washington Blvd. since 1993. Family owned and operated by 2nd and 3rd generation Demerjians.

Joe is an honest and trustworthy mechanic. My family and I have been taking our vehicles to him for at least 15 – 20 years (before he was even at his current location!). He has saved my butt on more than one occasion. His pricing is fair and his work always holds up. If there’s ever a problem just bring it back and he’ll knock it outta the park for ya.
I always recommend family and friends to go there, and I implore you do to the same.

joe has been working on my families cars for as long as i can remember.
when you call the shop, he is the one answering the phone. it seems like he can always fit you in, and best of all he is honest. did i mention that his prices are extremely fair?

Joe has always been so helpful and accommodating. I’ve used him once before and have another appointment for service.
It’s very rare as a woman (or anyone for that matter) to find an honest mechanic. That goes far in my book.

I have been a customer of Joe’s for over 15 years. Because of the excellent care, my 1997 Ford Explorer just passed 200,000 miles and its most recent smog test last month.
Joe has always been more than fair. He has always been flexible with meeting my schedule and needs, or up front if he is too overloaded. Oftentimes, if the fix is a minor adjustment, or a quick check, he doesn’t bother to charge me (even if I insist).
His team has been with him as long as I’ve been a customer and they are extremely friendly and helpful when Joe is busy or on the very few times he has been out.
I have recommended Joe and his crew to several people, and they all have been very happy with the work and the cost.
Joe is also very honest and always takes the time to explain what needs to be done, and also what is optional, or can be delayed temporarily and safely — which has been a boon in times that I was short on funds.
If you ever hear someone say, «I’ve got a guy» and wanted to have your own guy you can rely on, Joe’s the man.

Joe and his team are great — very trustworthy and I have gone there for about 7 years. I found them when they were one of only 2 places in Pasadena that did the CAP program. I have used them for a Chevy, a Lexus and a Mercedes– always good service or they tell you what they cannot do.

Joe is awesome! He recently worked on our 2002 BMW X5 and did an excellent job. He also serviced my 2008 Jeep Wrangler. He saved us about $ 500 compared to the local dealers. He’s a very honest guy and I’ll keep coming back.

We have been coming to Demerjian Auto for over 20 years. In the last year we have paid almost $ 2,000.00 in auto repairs. Two of them, and the most expensive were replacements of parts for the axles of the car, 6 months apart. A car that was driven less then 4 thousand miles. When I asked to see the part, they showed it to me. Mr. Demerjian pointed out where the rubber boot had torn. He said it was best to replace the entire part instead of just the rubber boot. Really??? Then he sells you after market parts. I looked at the rubber boot and I SWEAR that boot was cut so cleanly with a razor it was unbelievable. There is no way that rubber was dried out and cracked! When I pointed it out, he automatically gave me a $ 80.00 break on the part. WHY? This was the second time I felt that Demerjian Auto was «speeding» up the wear and tear process of one of our automobiles and charging me for the priviledge. I can no longer trust this neighborhood auto repair service. BEWARE, BEWARE, BEWARE.

There was a crazy sound which I thought was coming from my engine (5yr old car). I didn’t want to go to Toyota because their prices are insane. A couple friends recommended Demerjian Auto, so I went in. They quickly found out was wrong and quoted me a great price. Luckily it was just my water pump, which could’ve eventually damaged my engine… Phew
I felt comfortable the entire time and they had great service. I’ll definitely be back for future maintenance. :-) Thanks bunches *They even provided me with some tips for my oil changes.

I have only been dealing with Joe and his crew for just over a year, and I am very satisfied with both the quality of work, and the customer service. For being such a busy shop, they always seem to afford the time to explain what’s wrong and what’s right.

These guys took care of my smog problem quickly and efficiently, within a few hours of bringing the state paperwork. He was very accommodating to my schedule. If the state is helping you get your smog done, this is a good place to go.

Trying to figure out how to manage the cost of repairs to pass a smog was an unbelievably stressful nightmare that dragged on for months, until I talked to Joe at the recommendation of a friend, and he helped me apply for the CAP program.
Once the application was approved, they set to work on the repairs. Joe and Robert were fantastic, and explained every detail about what they would repair and what was going on with the car. They were persistent and finally got it sorted out, and I was able to resolve the situation paying far, far, far less than I was told I’d need to pay at my usual car repair place (where I am definitely no longer a customer). Every step of the way, I felt that these guys were honest with me, were up-​front about what the problems were and what would need to be done, and they treated me with respect and care throughout the entire process.
I would absolutely recommend Demerjian Auto for smog or repairs or both, and I’m so glad I found them!

I took my car here for the smog test.
It was quick and efficient.
The waiting room/​area was clean and comfortable. I would definitely recommend this location to anyone who needs to have their smog done.

Joe & his crew were excellent and problem-​solved issues on my car that several other mechanics couldn’t even diagnose properly. Although it cost me a fortune to fix my car, I was able to cheer up myself knowing my car is going to be fine now and I found a good autoshop. It’s not easy to find a mechanic who is honest with his clients and good with what he’s doing at the same time, if you know what I mean…

Joe is very honest. I so appreciate that. He has been quick to look at problems and get my cars back to me as soon as possible. My husband recently took his 4 year old Corolla into him and Joe inquired at the Toyota dealership to if it was still under warranty. He told my husband to have it towed to the Toyota dealership and they promptly fixed the problem. Joe charged my husband nothing for his time. He is very kind as well, and this is always nice in a mechanic. I’ve never had any problems with how he’s fixed my cars. I would highly recommend him.

I’ve been taking my car to Demerjian’s for several years now and have had nothing but good things to say. They’ve always taken care of the problem and I’ve never had to go back for more work. Joe explains exactly what is going right and wrong with your car and is very easy to interact with. Joe is super-​friendly and forthright and he has earned my trust. The only negative thing is that he sometimes forgets to call when the car is ready so you might have to call him instead.

I took my car in Joe’s shop because they are one of the the2 shops that do the CAP program in Pasadena. My car couldn’t pass the smog test, and the state is sponsoring to fix it. The overall experience was good, especially compare with the other option I have (Hull’s automotive on Hill). I like their prompt services, and call me before they make any major decision on parts change as I am cost sensitive under the CAP program. I’ve taken the car back for 2 days now and so far it’s fine.

Joe was a friendly guy, but his techs damaged my car (disabling it) and he billed me to fix it… and it was very poorly fixed.
The work I’d originally brought the car in for was also not done well, I found critical harness wires left dangerously exposed, which could have caused my car to die on the freeway.
Damaged and sloppily replaced trim panels and a steering wheel installed at an angle rounded out the terrible package.
Definitely wouldn’t trust them with my car again.
