Deezmaker

Really nice people but the machine I purchased two years ago never printed well enough for the price. There were always problems and could not just get it to print as well as other printers cheaper than it. Flash forges work way better and now I’m trying to sell my bukobot 2.

The first 3-​D printer I ever saw up close, was a Deezmaker «Bukito.» I was intrigued because it was tiny, nearly silent, and created precise parts in virtually any shape. A few months later, after researching many printer designs and different brands, I ended up purchasing the big brother, of the Bukito, called the «Bukobot.»
Since all of this was new to me I thought excellent technical support was critical. Deezmaker is open seven days a week, and you can reach them by email, or by phone, or if you’re in the area, in person. Every time I’ve needed help with something, I’ve gotten immediate assistance. Best of all, everyone there is not only knowledgeable, but friendly, with none of the attitude that sometimes crops up when you’re a beginner asking an expert for help.
I’ve been to the store a dozen times, whenever possible I go to their monthly Meetup, and again and again I’ve seen a willingness to answer even the most naïve questions.
This morning I discovered that a part on my 16-​month-​old, heavily used printer, had cracked. I drove out to Pasadena, hoping they would have a replacement in stock. Not only did they have it, but they encouraged me to do the work myself while I was there, and provided helpful suggestions, and even let me use their tools to make the repair.
If you have any interest in 3-​D printing, or simply want to understand something about the mysteries of it, stop by their shop. You will feel truly welcomed, and if you want to delve deeper, I strongly recommend the class they offer, called, «Zero to Plastic,» which is a very thorough and well presented introduction to 3-​D printing.
I’ve had a lot of fun with my Bukobot, and it has turned into an essential tool in my design studio.

These guys have helped me out of a jam on several occasions with expert advice and have gone out of their way to provide invaluable insight regarding a 3D printing and setting up my machine even though it’s not a Bukobot! I will someday own a Bukobot of my own and am truly inspired by their build quality and dedication to detail.
Every time I’ve stopped in they’re meticulously at work on some truly innovative designs. They have an all metal hotend that prints PLA with ease — something that other all metal designs often fail at. One thing I’m seriously impressed with is how quiet their machines are! I didn’t realize the first time I was in that they had more than a few machines happily printing. The spectra line drive system they use is super smooth.
If you’re interested in 3D printing or don’t even know what it is I would definitely recommend going there. I don’t think there’s another 3D printing store anywhere in LA. and I have definitely needed filament on a Sunday afternoon and these guys really helped me out.

I ordered my bukobot online, and waited 5 weeks to get it. expect a delay. I went to pick it up, Diego is very friendly and helpful.
the bukobot, despite having scant instructions, takes a while to put together. It was a challenge to figure out how to put the damn thing together, and this is what I do for a living — assembling prototypes. I hope that the online instructions get improved for the average user to be able to put one together. If they were, I would expect a bukobot could take about 6 – 7 hours to put together. I spent a little over 12, most of it scouring the internet with instructions on how to optimize the system and figure out the programming. There was an error that I needed to fix on my own, but the design is being updated, so some inconsistencies with the instructions seems inevitable.
I also bought some filament, it’s a LOT pricier than online, but the quality seems pretty good, the plastic is sealed from moisture (important) and seems to be really good with no contaminants and good size.
If you’re looking for a new hobby, pick up one of these 3d printers, they’re the best I’ve seen online, and they are modular — I plan on making mine capable of printing taller parts than the 8“x8“x8″ volume.

3D printing is going to figure in big with most sectors of industry and design. This place lets the novice walk in and have a look at how the whole process is done. The owner (Diego) met me at the door and spent 10 minutes chatting with me about how the process works. I went there on a Saturday and found lots of empty parking — probably due to the number of business closed on the weekend and unrented store fronts. There was a steady stream of folks coming and going while I wondered around his operation and watched parts being printed in plastic (mostly PLA, but his printers will work with the more common ABS also).
I went there with the hope of buying a heated build platform (HBP) in addition to seeing his 3D printers in operation and asking a few technical questions. The problem I found was there’s not much you could purchase at the store (this was in Nov 2012 to be clear). His website based store still shows 8 – 12 weeks for delivery of any model printer as of 09/​09/​2013. I left without the HBP, but there was a table of PLA objects that had been printed (some in 2 colors and amazing detail) that you can take with you as a sample of his wares.
An odd biz model to be sure, but I still think if you are interested in 3D printing it is worth a drive to take a look. I’m sure issues with stock /​delivery will be fixed before 2014.
