Its a grocery store in front, and a little restaurant in the back. Two little filipino ladies hook up portions that make it seem unfair. I feel like I’m visiting one my pinoy friends house back home. The meat is perfectly seasoned, and super tender. I usually pick up a pack of sweet rolls on my way out to go with my filipino feast.

I love the food they have in their turo-turo section in the back. I never shop in the front store. I just go straight to the back for the food. Being 5 hours away from home for college really deprives me of my filipino food, especially because I can never cook exactly like my parents. It just never turns out right. So it’s nice to have a filipino store close by to get filipino food. They have a range of food… much like what you would find at any turo-turo place(i.e. dinuguan, sinigang, daing, torta, longanisa, etc). Lola is always there to serve you and hussle you into buying more food because not only does it all look good but she’s a cute little old lady that is hard to say no to. Sometimes I walk in intending to just buy one item and I walk out with 5 because she’s so good at saying all her food is good. Too cute! But honestly, all the food I’ve gotten from there did not disappoint. It’s a great place to go to for filipino food if you live in the pasadena/alhambra area and don’t want to drag yourself all the way to eagle rock or west covina.

A Filipino grocery store! Haven’t seen many of those, but then I haven’t really gone looking… Pretty similar to other small ethnic grocery stores; lots of canned food, very cramped, a little grimy but not overly so… They do have a fair number of items from the Philippines but not all that many. They have a food stall /take-out counter as well but they closed just as we got in so it’ll have to wait for another day.
