Business Owner

Brett T. Johnston realizes that a successful family law attorney wears many hats. Besides mastering the legal side of family law, he must be adept at understanding the human condition as clients present problems from every kind of life experience. He must also conduct complex financial analyses, such as the division of assets and tax liabilities, and therefore must have a strong background in business and forensic accounting, as well as be comfortable using technology, such as legal software programs, for financial calculations.

Brett graduated Cum Laude from the University of West Los Angeles College of Law in 2008 and was on the Dean’s List. Brett also had received the American Legion Scholastics Award for Academic excellence. He prides himself of being a scholar of Family Law as well as a strong litigator.

He focuses exclusively on Family Law and is preparing for the October 2013 Specialist Exam.

I cannot recommend Brett enough as a family law attorney. He was always professional and sympathetic throughout this tough process. Brett was always on time and prepared for our court dates. He always made himself available for phone calls and meetings. His knowledge of the law was exceptional. The most important aspect was he felt more like a friend than a lawyer through a hard time in my life. If you have to go through a divorce Brett is the one to call.

He is consummate professional. The best! Easy to talk to, very friendly. Very thorough in explaining the ‘Legal-​eze’ so that you can easily understand. I met Brett and Neal during a very difficult time in my life. I’m so grateful for their professionalism and friendship. Brett and Neal are very knowledgable in family law and are very well versed in the most up to date codes. They clearly explained the steps it took to get a divorce and made me feel comfortable of my choices to proceed to the next step. They were very honest and truthful in answering all my questions. I understand a divorce can be very emotional, but they kept me focused and were very realistic to what happens during a divorce. I completely trusted them and they came through with what they promised. I highly recommend them.
