My friend recently took me here and since then I’ve been back many times. I’ve tried all walks of sushi, high-end to hole in the wall joints. BAD sushi has great service, reasonable prices and GOOD, not bad, sushi. Recommend trying: – Pork Chop(has a unique smokey taste to it) – C&C roll – BAD tiger roll – Love at first bite The garlic edamame is YUM. Unique — give it a try, but don’t give a kiss after ;) I’d skip the calamari, people rave about it but I thought it was too breaded and killed my sushi appetite.

Came here on a Friday night for HH! Surprisingly decent sushi! Good service and great happy hour! Only thing to complain was the rolls were a little salty for my standard. Will go back again to try other things.

Want some good sushi, visit bad sushi. The name kind of threw me off, I enjoyed this place and their customer service :3 They also have a few creative names for their sushi. Salmon skin, and two more… one was spicy tuna, and the other… cant remember the name, but it was crunchy and delish.

I love this place! My husband and I eat here very often, we normally seat at the sushi bar, the service is always great. The happy hour prices are amazing! I have many favorites but my ultimate favorite roll is the Fire Snow, they changed the name to S.E.A roll. Sooo good! Not in happy hour menu but so worth the extra bucks! I’ll be visiting very soon!

First time at this location for my cousin’s birthday. Convenient that it is very close to where we live. Parking is weird, because if there is no street parking, there is an alley next to the restaurant with 2 outdoor lots that are 4 bucks for parking(paying for it is a little sketchy, there is no valet person standing there, its either over the phone or online). - We originally had made reservations for 4, and once we walked in, confirming that we were on time for our reservations, we were left standing there for 10 minutes, while we saw many tables open that could have easily sat 4 people. We asked one of the servers, who barely knew English, and she set up a table for 6, even though we were only 4. She was waiting for a big table to open up for a big group, but whatever, misunderstanding I guess. — This place is very small btw! It is literally tiny, but our table was far in the corner, so its like we had our own little space. Food is amazing! Melts right in your mouth! We ordered a bunch of different rolls, such as: Love At First Sight(two heart shaped sushi rolls); Say Fish topped with Albacore, Tiger Roll, Dragon Roll, and a few others. The Crispy Spicy Tuna was one of my favorites! It is Crispy Rice topped with spicy tuna. — We also ordered a Sashimi salad, which was also very delicious. Service is lacking! There is only 2 servers running the restaurant, plus being a hostess. They don’t really understand well off English. The girl kept forgetting to bring our extra orders of Ginger, and the sauces we wanted. Also our miso soup didn’t reach us till we were almost completely done with the meals. No refills on drinks, and didn’t really check up on us. We had to wave down the servers. Overall, its a good spot. I would only recommend this place for the food.

Poor quality… I had the charashi bowl, the shrimp was over cooked. There was a piece of sushi that was slice poorly. I’m missing half the slice. The wasabi was really light to taste, maybe diluted in too much water. Ikura sushi… The seaweed was soggy and ikura was dry. Clearly it was not fresh.

Super great spot with awesome lunch specials! $ 10 for a chrashi bowl! So delicious and fresh as well. If you work in the area it’s a great lunch spot. Service was great, their menu has a section for non-rice rolls which are great if you’re watching the carbs. I highly recommend this place, just note that they’re closed on Mondays and Tuesday’s.

It is a small restaurant. The sushi rolls are delicious. I had the spicy tuna, eel roll, and the crunchy roll.

One of my friends introduced me to this place! It’s located in old town pasadena, pretty convenient location. It wasnt crowded at all when we got there, got seats right away. They have a fairly large menu, lots of stuff to chose from with cool different rolls. We picked a few to share and all of the ones we chose had great flavor with the fish tasting fresh and yummy. I liked that they have cool names for the rolls as well! The service was great here, quick and were always checking on us. Theres lots of options for parking as well, street/lots/meters, etc. Its not a large restaurant, so I can imagine that this place gets crowded during peak times.

So far my favorite Japanese place for rolls in Pasadena. When my friend wanted to eat at «Bad sushi» for good sushi, it was initially pretty funny– but I am glad we came here. The place wasn’t overly busy, and they were accommodating to our large party. I tried several rolls which I really enjoyed. We came partially during Happy Hour(before 7pm) which gave about $ 2 off per roll/dish. We really liked their Calamari Tempura– nice and flaky, flavorful covering to well cooked Calamari in a nice tangy dipping sauce. Their«Crying Tuna»(shrimp tempura, spicy tuna, with a mild fire sauce), Spicy Tuna Crunch(«Spicy Tuna with tempura flakes and Unagi sauce) were both amazing. After enjoying those dishes, we even splurged on regular priced(post-happy hour) on getting their«BAD Salmon Roll»(crab inside with salmon outside) and«Albacore Lover»(Spicy tuna inside topped with albacore). Highly recommend– so many interesting rolls and dishes. They also have the traditional main dishes/bentos to try to if that’s your preference.

I’m feeling generous tonight so I’m going to give BAD Sushi 3-stars, but it barely made the cut. Where to begin? Let’s just say it lives up to its name. While you won’t hate it, you won’t leave satisfied either. It’s one of those places you end up at when nearby Osawa is packed with a 30-minute wait for a party of 2 and wildly popular Sugarfish has double the wait time. Not that that happened to us or anything. –__–

What a great find for a quick bite for A reasonable price! What we didn’t know: they offer a great discount for happy hour. Thought the choices were very good. We ordered: 1. Crunchy roll 2. Salmon roll 3. Tempura shrimp 4. Vegetable roll 5. Small hot sake Totally price with tip, $ 39.50 Thought the waitress was fabulous, and very sweet! It seems like a family owned operation. We will def be back!

This place is always closed!!! Unilocal says open till 10pm, we get there at 8pm on a Saturday night and they are closed. Very unprofessional. I shouldn’t have to call to make sure a business is open on a random non holiday day. They close on Monday and Tuesday’s. They close for lunch, like what other restaurant does that? I wish things were more consistent here but they just close when they feel like it. However, the food itself is delicious. Great quality sushi. Love the love at first bite roll and nudes beach.

Great little sushi establishment in Old Town Pasadena. Very convenient for me to drop by right after work since it is so close to my train stop(Memorial Park Station). The happy hour prices are is very reasonable, especially compared to all the other restaurants around. It is not the most amazing sushi I have ever had. But the food is fresh, place is clean, and the wait staff was very courteous. Only suggestion is that they should really consider renaming the restaurant cause the place isn’t «BAD» at all.

I though the sushi here was great! At first I was a little wary because of their name, but my friend convinced me to go and I have to say it was worth it! First, they have a TON of rolls. They’re really just slight variations on each other. A lot of spicy tuna, or shrimp tempura and avocado. I’m a fan of all that so it was fine with me. We got 6 different rolls and ate everything. The place is pretty small and the service was really slow. Other than that, we really enjoyed the experience!

After walking around Pasadena and doing a bit of shopping we got hungry so I hop on Unilocal to find the closest, most decent looking sushi spot. I think this place is a chain as I’ve seen a «BAD» sushi in El Segundo but this is the first time I’ve been. It was still happy hour when we got there so to me that means order away lol. I think it was $ 3 sushi and some rolls for $ 6 or so. Oh and beer was $ 3 for large Sapporo and I think $ 3 or $ 4 for large sake. Service was attentive and quick! — Spicy tuna on crispy rice: the crispy rice was cooked perfectly and the portion of spicy tuna it was topped with was quite generous! — Shrimp tempura roll topped with spicy tuna(I forgot the name of it): came drizzled with some«fire» sauce that wasn’t that spicy but the roll was very good — Shishito peppers: very good. 1 or 2 spicy ones in this batch — Philly tempura roll: I don’t usually like these but the gf wanted it. It was okay(good if you like those kind of rolls) — Salmon, albacore, and yellowtail sushi: really big/thick pieces of fish here. I loved them all but my favorite was the yellowtail and salmon. All that quality food with sake and a few beers and out the door only spending $ 60 including tip! I started this review with 4 stars but after typing this all out and thinking about it more I’m bumping it up to 5 stars haha definitely try to come for happy hour if you’re in the area
