Shopping here makes your meals stand out. Meats, spices and middle eastern delicacies are high quality and fairly priced. There is lots of dried fruit and nuts too. Good customer service too.

Worst customer service! The cashiers dont even say hi or look at you when theyre ringing you up. This store is really close to me and because of the bad customer service i end up going to Vons instead.

I confront anyone that doesn’t show me mutual respect. I left 180 dollars worth of groceries at the register. And left. Next time adjust ur attitude. U don’t like ur job then stay home or get another job.

If I can give them zero stars I would. They are #1 in the worst customer service. The isles are very narrow. Workers have the worst attitude. The deli department workers are very nasty and taste the deli while helping customers. Checking out is very uncomfortable and customers don’t know where lines are. Try buying expired food and when you take it back they act stupid.

Went here for the first time on Sunday with my daughters. The girl at the deli was so super friendly. Everyone at this store is really friendly and they have a lot of things to choose from. Will def be back.

When I moved from Altadena to Northern Pasadena — which is to say less than three miles away — I stopped visiting this store as often as I once did. What a pity — because I frequently go to Hastings Ranch and Glendale — so why snub this ‘nearby’ store?
It’s expanded since I last saw it. And feels less tight. Plus plus. I come here for the bulgarian feta, jarred eggplant javar, and bread. When these three meat — divine. I was picking up these items as an appetizer and was planning to cook something for some friends.
But then I gandered at all the delightful items around me. Salami, turkey, hummus, baba ganoosh, stuffed mushrooms — and I ditched the cooking idea. My home has a lot of serving bowls and decided, screw it – I’ll just put a ton of stuff on a table and let peeps serve themselves. I bought fresh strawberries, a bag of dippable veggies, some Easter colored Jordan almonds, little peanut crisp thingees. It was SO easy and my guests really enjoyed.
I discovered the ‘meat’ side of the store a little late but promised myself to return and explore. I fed four people with way too much food for under $ 60. And with plenty of leftovers.
Do it. No, really, DO IT.

I am a fan. Melons, berries, tomatoes, potatoes, eggplant and grapes are very good and cheaper than chain supermarkets. Interesting items. (Although anything with sesame seeds seemed to taste moldy.) Lots of imported items cheaper here — French jam, Polish fruit tea, Bulgarian feta. Challenge butter used to be a buy, but the price has gone up. I am not a fan of the meat or fish. Yes, aisles are narrow, and the parking lot feels dangerous. Women working the checkout have been friendly. I shop here regularly because of the produce.

I don’t like shopping at Armen’s market, the quality of the produce is not good and they are overpriced. The aisles are extremely narrow, the deli department is very very slow and they sometimes give you wrong item. The cashiers/​employees don’t greet you at all, come on! you are not back in your countries anymore just welcome your customers and make them feel good. There is one blond Armenian lady/​cashier who is there most of the time is very rude and not professional at all. Overall, not worth to go there.

Great, clean, helpful, international offerings.
This is a gem in Altadena and it isn’t to be missed.

I had a really bad experience in this store. I was going to purchased some meat and noticed there was flies flying around and they were on the meat. Absolutely grossed me out. Will never shop there again. Also very terrible customer service. Very rude.

I came to this store when it was much smaller. It’s great they expanded their meat and wine departments. I really like their prices. They are much cheaper than your average grocery store. The isles are very narrow it makes it easy to find everything.
The selection of meat is great. Especially the marinated meats, Very salty. A few days ago, I bought pork tenderloin, that was per-​marinated. They had them on skewers with vegetables ready to go. I was rushing and picked it up right after work. It did the trick and we had a easy and delicious meal with little effort.
The employees are some very nice people, some seriously gold star really helpful.

Not your typical outdated janky Armenian grocery store. This place is nice and clean inside, awesome deli and produce section. Meat and poultry looks fresh and full of color. Great variety of international food and items that are impossible to find at super king. Staff is a little rude and should smile a little more!

The selection of meat is great. With the exception of the already marinated meats. Very salty. A few months ago, I called the store and ordered a certain type of cut, that was pre-​marinated. I specified the cut, and told him I wanted to put them on skewers. I even said I wanted 15 pounds ready to go. I was rushing, and wanted to pick it up right after work.
I was very disappointed for multiple reasons: They had the bag ready, but it was 17 pounds. 2 pounds more then what I asked for. It would of taken time to have him re-​weight them, or just taking 2 pounds out of it. So, I just took it all. Additionally, the cut was okay, but approx 2 pounds of that meat was not the cut I wanted, not even possible to place them on skewers. Plus, it was super salty. What a disappointment. I felt that I was tricked.
The employees are some nice, some serious, cold, other really very helpful.

I’ve always drove by this place during my commute to school. My boyfriend is Armenian, so he has introduced me to a lot of the food and culture there is to offer. I have always loved the flavorful food, so I stopped in to bring some home.
Produce is so inexpensive, and it’s really great quality! The have a meat section downstairs (which also serves sandwiches made in the store), alongside a cheese deli, delicious olive selection, small Armenian dishes and a small section of whole bean coffee (fresh).
Never have had a problem with food quality, but staff has been a bit uptight and cranky each time I’ve gone. Although, today an older gentleman helped me out in finding «Almond flour», he was a real sweet man, thank you whoever you are! All smiles :)
Upstairs, they have another meat section, this is more typical meat: chickens, beefs, kabobs, etc versus downstairs; prosciutto, Ham, etc.
Upstairs they also have an excellent (fancier) cheese selection, alongside their wine and crackers.
I really like the set up and how everything is conveniently places beside what you would likely pair it with.
They also have a large bread wall, candy, beer, soft drinks, and coffee drinks as well as commercial dairy products, pastries, and baking goods!
I really love this market, and do plan on visiting it again for my grocery needs.

I heard so much about this market being cheap and fresh from Unilocal and my friends. After my first visit, I was little disappointed. I got 3 lbs of ground beef Lula, 1 lbs of mortadella with garlic and pistachio, some fresh fruits.
Well, they were all under $ 30 bucks — cheap for sure. But the Lula was extremely fatty and SALTY. Mortadella was too salty too. Something tells me that it has been sitting on the shelf for a long period of time.
Fruits were good, only except those «special» priced raspberry they sold at the counter were mostly bad from the inside.
I understand with local smaller markets, its often a «hit & miss.» But I won’t mind give another try… just not any time soon.

Good quality selection of meats and cheeses. Barbequed some excellent lamb from the butcher. Lots of neat imported canned and dry items and (usually) great produce. The fresh berries are always up front by the register and are ridiculously low-​priced for being the same brands carried at Whole Foods.
It can get a bit hairy maneuvering around this place as their aisles are narrow and space is at a premium. I’ve experienced more than a few grumpy regulars who will refuse to acknowledge your existence or return the favor of moving politely out of the way when passing down an aisle. Perhaps some holdovers from when this neighborhood was less populated? The price the young must pay to get the good stuff, I suppose!

I stumbled across this place months ago and it’s my favorite local market. The prices here are really good and the veggies are very fresh. They have a wide variety of fruits, bread, and lots of ethnic Armenian goods. I have also tried their meats and tried to make my own Kabobs at home. They taste great!
I think it’s very important to support the small local businesses. I def try to come here as often as I can. The people are also very friendly and nice!
