Allison’s Piano Studio specializes in piano lessons for students of all ages, skill levels and artistic/​professional goals, with an emphasis in Classical music. Students are guided based on individual needs to build a comprehensive foundation in music theory, history, piano technique and more, to help facilitate overall artistic and personal development.

Touted for her «enthusiasm, professionalism, and commitment in every students’ success and development,» Allison Chu offers a unique and holistic approach both as a pedagogue and a pianist.

Ms. Allison holds Bachelor degrees in Piano Performance (BM) and Health Promotion Disease Prevention (BS) from the University of Southern California. Her previous teachers include Vera Hoalim and Dr. Louise Lepley, who she studied with at the Colburn School of Performing Arts in Los Angeles. Ms. Chu is currently pursuing her Master of Music degree in Piano Performance at USC’s Thornton School of Music under the tutelage of Antoinette Perry, where she was awarded a Teaching Assistantship position by the Keyboard Studies Department in 2013.

Ms. Chu is an active member of Music Teachers’ National Association and Music Teachers’ Association of California. She also teaches at the Neighborhood Music School in Boyle Heights.
