I spoke to William in regards to needing a behaviorist for my dog and he said that he could refer me to a lady named, Teresa who was very experienced. I met with Teresa and my dog has been improving on his aggression issues and I’m so thankful that William was able to recommend someone. William is very competent and I really appreciate the fact that he followed up with me right away.

Not all 5 star Unilocal dog trainers/​walkers are the same. I’ve gone through several, even those with 100+ reviews, and they don’t come anywhere close to William in terms of their knowledge, expertise, trustworthiness, or reliability.
I’m neurotic about my pets, like on a scale of 1 to 10, I’m off the charts. To give you a sense, I feed my pets organic chicken soup and veggies, brush their teeth every night, and make them organic jerky on the weekends. Our pets are the loves of our lives, and we don’t trust just anyone with them.
So, it means A LOT when I say that we trust and LOVE William with our pets!
Our pup and cats love him too. So much that when I play William’s voice, our dog wags his tails and obeys William through the telephone! Our dog is a puppy, and will sit and stay with just William’s voice, and do all the other fancy stuff William’s taught him, like walk without a leash. He’s even taught our cats how to «turn.»
William understands dogs in a way that I’ve never seen before.
His dog, Toby, a 7 pound YorkiePoo, is the BEST trained dog I’ve ever seen — he’s so well-​behaved that he’s 100% off leash, can stay for 30+ minutes like a statue with no William in sight, and can even wrap himself up like a burrito! Check out Toby’s Instagram at drtobias_​the_​yorkiepoo.
From one Unilocaler to another, word’s getting out and William’s getting very, very busy, so if I were you, I’d contact him NOW while you still have a chance.

I’ve been working with William for just under a year now and I absolutely couldn’t be happier. Our relationship started when a change in my schedule required me to be out of the house for 12+ hours on some days and I didn’t want to leave my dogs alone for such long periods of time. I am not the easiest client to work with since I did not have a set schedule and often didn’t know I would be away from home all day until the day of. William worked with me to figure out a solution and everything worked out perfectly.
Like many of you, I had obvious fears about letting an unfamiliar person into my house and take my dogs out. However, after reading his Unilocal reviews, I decided to take a chance with William. Turns out it was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. William is one of those few people in the world who truly care about the well being of your pets and you can tell he genuinely loves dogs and is excited and happy to be with them. He is the type of person I want to be caring for my dogs.
William is responsible and trustworthy. You can’t go wrong working with him.

Me and my wife are first time dog owners of a Siberian Husky puppy. We started to look for a trainer to help with some immediate problems we were having, but also someone for continuing training and support throughout our dogs life. We found William here on Unilocal,saw his great reviews, and decided to give him a call… best decision we could have possibly made! After speaking with him for only a few minutes, it was clear to me his knowledge, experience and enthusiasm was exactly what we were looking for.
I set up our first session to address our puppies incessant crying at all hours of the night and into the wee hours of the morning (we were losing our minds). After our session, that night the crying had completely stopped, and did not return once!!! During that initial session he also answered a whole list of questions we had for him, and showed us some great techniques for training while at the same time developing a strong bond with our newest family member.
Our most recent session was focused mainly on starting to teach our now 5 month old puppy to walk with us properly. I had been having problems with him pulling, and nothing I was trying seemed to work. This was causing me some serious frustration, and I don’t think me or my new buddy were enjoying our walks very much. After Williams «intervention» our walks have been amazing, no more pulling, no more frustration for me, or my poor dog.
If you are reading this I strongly suggest you give him a call and talk to him for a few minutes. In the end you will thank yourself, your dog will thank you, and you will be well on your way to a very happy and fun relationship with your dog!

We are so thankful that we found William to take care of our Kuwa (see photo below). I know that, we, like many other pet owners felt guilty about leaving our little puppy at home while we were away at work, so we decided to find a pet walker to take our dog out during the day.
We tried another company and they were o.k., but they just didn’t seem to have their heart in it. After searching online and through Unilocal,we came across Adventure Dog LA and read about all the happy owners who picked William to take care of their pooch. We contacted William and he made time to come over to our home after business hours to talk about what he does and assess our pup. I was pleasantly surprised at how much he genuinely cared about what he does and the dogs he cares for. We decided that we would try William out.
Fast forward nearly 5 months and we’ve had William take Kuwa out just about every weekday (either for a walk or an «adventure” – Kuwa LOOOOVES the adventures). We are so happy with how much better our dog has become at being more open (he’s naturally a bit of an independent dog) and at the tricks he’s learned from hanging out with William (part of the excellent service you get when working with William). One of the best parts of our day is the pics and videos William takes of our dog while he’s out and about. We can see it in our dog’s eyes that he so very happy, and that makes us happy. William is also super attentive and puts the same amount of care and attention in his interactions with the owners as he does the doggies, which is a level of service not found in services these days.
Do yourself and your dog a favor and contact William. You will be glad you did.

Finding Adventure Dog LA /​William is a dream come true. We’d had a few mishaps with previous dog walkers, but since we’ve been working with William, our pup has been SO happy. William goes above and beyond to make sure our little guy is well cared for and safe — but also works on training concepts with him so he’s not only getting exercise, but he’s engaged and learning on a daily basis. William has been super helpful with our questions and has even been a consultant for us as we’ve considered finding another dog to join our family. Just calling William a dog walker seems like it’s just not enough to describe what he does for us. Couldn’t have asked for a better person to hang out with our pup when we can’t.

Besides being a lovely, friendly, dependable, and prompt human, William has a way with dogs that can’t be beat! After just two sessions, he trained US to train our beloved rescue and our guy has made HUGE strides already! I sent him today on one of William’s group hikes and he came home exhausted and happy, what more could a dog owner want? Don’t interview other trainers; just go straight to the best and choose William.

I had an uncontrollable, super aggressive 140 pound German Shepherd.
I researched Dog trainers in my area and saw that Adventure Dog LA has the best ratings — 5 star. So i hired William — because:
I had issues walking my 140 lb dog — who pulled so hard while I walked him — I felt like my arm was going to come out of its socket. I
could not walk him anymore…
Also — if I took him to the Dog Park — he got so aggressive — he actually chased people, chased other dogs and he would get right next to the people and growl and show his teeth. He was even more aggressive with dogs. The people were so scared they all just stood still — the activity in the park came to a halt.
I once took him to the Dogie Beach in Long Beach and he was so wild and aggressive I had to hold him down and I couldn’t get him to stop barking and growling and trying to go after people and other dogs — I had to leave right away.
I could not take him for walks or be by any other dogs.
So I called William of Adventure Dog LA for HELP !
He came — took the dog for a walk — and in less than 20 minutes he asked me to come outside and I saw my dog was walking with him — with no tension on the lease. He was walking right beside him! To say I was amazed would be an understatement.
William then taught me how to walk him and what to do if he pulls me forward. I can easily walk him and I can’t believe the change.
Dogie Park visits — Now he walks by me all around the park with no lease and I have no issues with him. Other Dogs and people can come up to him with no problem.
The transformation is incredible — without any BS — I feel that I have a new dog .
The training is over — but I have William come pick my dog up every Sunday morning — and he arrives with his SUV filled up with other dogs — usually 3 other dogs — and off they go to a very nice dogie park in the hills and they go on that Dogie Adventure — with NO leash on at all. The other dogs run and play with him.
Amazing transformation and now I can enjoy time with my dog — wherever i want to go!
Fantastic job by William of Adventure Dog LA

This review is long overdue. My black shepherd mix, sweetest dog, is a rescue and loved playing with other dogs. Fast forward 3 years my pup Lucy and I have been attacked on 3 times by unleashed, untrained dogs that belong to the peeps next door. The last happened in July 2015, needless to say Lucy and I became a little neurotic and fearful of strange dogs approaching us (me especially). And then I found William. It’s been about 3 months and I’m soooo happy but most importantly Lucy is happy and learning to play with other dogs again and through our lessons he’s help building my confidence again as well!
Lucy loves her adventure hikes with him and is currently snoring on her bed because she had so much fun with him today. I wish I could give him 30 stars!
He truly has a way with dogs
PS I had hired another trainer prior to finding adventure dog and that other trainer told me I’d have to accept the fact my dog may never get along with other dogs… So that trainer needs to go suck it

We found William while looking for a dog walker online. we came across his website and was immediately impressed that not only he does walks, he also does hiking and he’s a trainer!
We must have interviewed 6 people before William came for a meet and greet, but when we met, there was no doubt in my mind that he is the right person for our dogs. My wife was in agreement right away.
We have 2 dogs, one is deaf and the other spend more then a year on the streets of Compton by himself. The later one does not trust anyone new — takes him months to warm up to people — so when William was able to walk him the first time they met, it was a shocker!!! I guess William has this amazing energy that some people posses when it comes to dogs. After a few walks William is even able to train him here and there — that’s a nice perk to have from a dog walker!
He’s always on-​time, always on text messages„ flexible, and trustworthy.

I sought out William because he had good reviews on Unilocal and because he was very local! I’ve worked with 2 previous dog trainers in my life, and William was a good find!
I want my dog to be a therapy dog, but knew my dog needed more obedience training. When I first met William, he was very friendly, personable, and professional. He informed me of how I could change my lifestyle to adapt more to my dog’s needs, in a way that didn’t make me feel bad or judged. After having 2 private sessions with him, I feel more confident in knowing what to work on so I can train my dog. William tries to make you more independent in training your dog, so you’re not relying on him.
The best part about William? I feel he really partners with the client’s goals in an enthusiastic and supportive way. After I told him about my goal in making my dog into therapy dog, I would get pictures of suggestions and courses that he saw and pass them to me. He even attended the pet therapy course with me and will wait till I take the pet evaluation so he can enroll his dog and we can do it together! Really nice to have a dog trainer partner with you with your goals and walk step by step (but not super hand holding) throughout the way. I’ve felt discouraged about my dogs training in the past, and William is really encouraging to only bounce back something positive about my training.
Again, I think William is a good find. I’ve worked with 2 dog trainers before, but I feel most comfortable with William. He genuinely cares about the dogs and his job and has a big heart.
(Also, not sure how he can control 5 dogs all at once unleashed, but his hiking services are definitely a good find too! You will get lots of photos of the pack :))

I don’t know anyone who loves dogs as much as William. He’s infinitely enthusiastic and positive, and genuinely cares about every dog he works with. And the feeling is mutual — my dog goes on hikes twice a week, but he mopes at the front door every morning, hoping for William to show up.
Beyond the warmth, there is real skill and excellent customer service. William is a skilled dog trainer, and has amazing command of his dog pack when they hike with him. Truth be told, he has better command of my dog than I do! I would recommend him to anyone who is looking for help with their dog’s problem behaviors. He is reliable and punctual. He sends out texts to his dog owner clients during every hike to let them know all is well. He is careful and conscientious about weather, safety, and health. I’m a bit of a worrier so I really appreciate these qualities.
A big heart, a lot of skill, and equally great dealing with canines and humans! William is the full package. Highly, highly recommended.

What can I say, our dog loves going on dog hikes with Adventure Dog LA. She runs around like crazy and will sends of a ton of great photos, on top of all of that, Will trains the dog while on the hike!
I’ve used other dog hike services, but its not as good for our puppy, sure she gets tired out, but she doesn’t get any training with the other services we have used.
Our dog loves off-​leash runs and from the photos that Will has sent us on a regular basis she seems to love the hikes in our local hills.

An unequivocal 5 stars for William and his dog walking service! All his 5 star reviews are more than well-​deserved.
Our dog is a high/​low dog. She is really calm and practically invisible when we take her to work, but give her a field to run in and she turns into a rocket. Taking her such a high energy dog just for walks isn’t enough, so this is where William comes and saves the day. We are too out of shape and otherwise too pressed for time to give the kind of hard hike our dog loves. So we are grateful for William and his amazing dog hikes.
He updates us with multiple photos and sometimes videos of our dog having a grand time with the rest of the hiking pack. It takes a lot to get our dog to pant or make her tongue hang out. But during every hike I get photos with her tongue hanging out and a doggy smile on her face.
And even if your dog isn’t as high energy as ours, Will will get a sense of what energy/​disposition your dog and will let you know which day of the week he is walking a dog pack that is best suited for your dog.
I’m thrilled to have him as our dog walker!

The best. If you want your dog to go hiking, be social and come home super happy, then William is your go to guy. I’ve never met someone who gets dogs the way William does. He will care for your dog like it’s his own. Having William in our lives is one of the best decisions we have ever made.

I wish I could give more than just 5 stars, 5 doesn’t do my dog training lessons and what I’ve learned justice. I have a crazy one year old Siberian husky who wouldn’t listen to me when I would take her walking or hiking… she would constantly pull, get distracted very easily and wouldn’t come when I called her.
William was great with my dog he definitely knows what he’s doing in just a few minutes he got her to walk by his side without pulling and to listen, it was like I was looking at a completely different dog I never thought I’d see the day! He even got my two dogs to get along! I thought they always hated each other because they would always fight I was seriously amazed. We also had a hiking training session to test what she had learned!
I am very satisfied with what I’ve learned and what my dog has learned, I definitely recommend William he’s professional, very nice, and really loves dogs!

William seriously changed my life!
We got our lovey from the shelter and felt really good about ourselves «saving a dog». Of course, we realized that Bud (because we always just called him «come here, bud») had a past and being from the shelter, we would face challenges …
However, I would have never expected Bud to become so aggressive over the first weeks after his relocation to us. He didn’t only bark at people, but also snapped at them and tried to pull me when we went for a walk. It was also only with me; he never did it with my husband.
So I called William. He listened very patiently to my story and came out right the next day. He watched our daily routine and how we interact.
After a fairly short amount of time, he gave our problem a name. He told me that Bud was leash aggressive, why he would behave that way and trained ME (not my dog) how to communicate correctly and clearly with him. It was hard work, it took some effort — but it soooo was worth every penny and every minute spent!!!
«AdventureDogLA» should be the new «Dog Whisperer» on TV! Seriously, I’ve seen the show over and over again, but I could only be our pack leader once William helped me live up to it and re-​established our relationship.
We have a little one now and I feel very comfortable walking with both in public. Bud is the best dog in the world, stays by my side, listens well and is protective (but in a very good and proud way) of the baby.

36 hours before my 3-​week business trip to Europe, my dog sitter bailed. Freaking out, I went straight to Unilocal and was lucky to find Adventure Dog LA — aka William. After reading his pitch and the reviews, I was really hoping that he’d be able to watch my dogs for me. I was pretty desperate, but it sounded like William was more than I could have hoped for. I just wanted someone responsible that I could trust, and here was someone who would not only watch my dogs but take them on hikes and adventures too! I called him up and he agreed to come over and meet me and the dogs.
Both my ridgeback and shepherd were adult rescues and are a bit crazy. Mostly just WAAAAY excited but can get aggressive when they see the mail man or small furry animals. I told him this prior to his arrival, and that he should expect the dogs to jump around a lot but he needn’t worry about biting. He came into the house, and my dogs flew in the air to greet him, and he just turned his back and ignored them until they stopped. That was a good sign, in stark contrast to one trainer who screamed at me «get your dog off me!» Which I thought was weird because I had called her to help stop them from jumping on people! Anyway…
Like I said, I was feeling desperate with the looming trip, but these are my dogs and my home and I need someone I can trust. Right off the bat, William struck me as friendly and trustworthy, and passionate about dogs and their people. We talked about what I needed — someone to feed and walk the dogs — and what he might be able to do in addition. He agreed to take them on adventures when he could, and help socialize them with other dogs. That was more than I was hoping for, so I handed him a set of keys to the house and was set.
While watching the dogs, William texted and emailed me with updates on how the dogs were doing, and sent me photos every day. As someone who loves my dogs and hates to be away from them, I really appreciated him doing this!
Two weeks into my trip, I emailed William to tell him that I had broken my ankle and wasn’t sure when I’d be home. I needed surgery and couldn’t fly until doctors gave me the okay. My 3 week trip suddenly turned into 6 weeks and I didn’t know how that would work. As you can see, he’s busy running a business and I’m sure me telling him I’d be away another three weeks was not particularly convenient for him (I think I ruined/​pushed back his vacation plans). But I wouldn’t know it, because he simply said, «Man that sucks, get better soon and let me know when you think you’re coming home.» It did indeed suck, but I felt a lot better knowing he had my back!
As of now he’s watched my dogs on four or five trips, for a total of roughly three calendar months. I trust him, he’s super reliable, and my dogs love him. To top it all off, he charges what he calls fair rates, and I call ridiculously cheap for Los Angeles. I’m actually embarrassed by how much money I’ve spent on fancy boarding places that left my dogs more stressed than when I brought them in, and completely ineffective trainers who think that offering a dog biscuit will somehow override my dogs’ strong prey drive /​neuroses /​whatever.
As a business owner myself, I find it noteworthy that at the time of this writing, EVERY review for William is 5 stars — except for one person who has never actually used his services. That just goes to show how truly excellent he is, and that he’s doing things the right way. I consider myself fortunate to be able to leave another 5 star review.

I emailed for help, heard nothing so followed up a week later by text to his listed cell. He texted back that my email had gone into the spam folder but that he’d look into it over the weekend. Never heard back, followed up by text message twice over the next 2 weeks and was ignored. At least William could have had the decency to say «no I’m busy» or «no I’m not interested in working with you». I was really looking forward to a wonderful experience with all the great reviews and testimonials. Disappointed and surprised by his lack of care.

Background: I have two dogs. I used to work from home full-​time, but I was offered a fancy office job a couple of months ago, and I needed a dog walker. One of my dogs, Cosmo, has epilepsy, and it makes him a crabby jerk. He hates it when new people come to our house, he doesn’t like to be touched, and he has a lot of fear-​aggression issues. He bites. He’s also super high energy, and I knew leaving him and our other dog (who’s low-​energy and doesn’t play with him as much as he’d like) home alone would drive them both crazy. So I had to find a dog walker who wasn’t afraid of Cosmo and was willing to put in the time and energy to earn Cosmo’s trust.
I interviewed a few dog walkers. Some seemed genuinely afraid of Cosmo (all 22 pounds of him). One suggested I leave him at home with his muzzle on all day when they were scheduled to walk him. I found William’s website through Craigslist and read about the Doggy Adventures, and I knew it would be perfect for Cosmo. He loves to hike, and a full day out of the house would sap his manic energy. And the first one was free! I hadn’t started my new job yet, so I told William to come over while I was there, and I said I’d have my phone on me all day in case Cosmo was too much and I had to come and pick him up. I put his muzzle on and sent them on their way.
I anxiously waited all day for that call. To my surprise, William started texting me photos of Cosmo having a BLAST at Runyon Canyon. He patiently sat with him and just waited and waited until Cosmo trusted him enough to take the muzzle off. He texted me a photo of Cosmo sitting in his lap — something he NEVER does with strangers. (I added the pic to Unilocal.) Before he even dropped Cosmo off the first day, I ran out and made him a set of my house keys.
Since then, he takes both my dogs on walks twice a week, and he takes Cosmo on Doggy Adventures once a week (my other dog is too small and lazy for all that action). Cosmo has improved SO MUCH. He’s much better with guests, he’s nicer with other dogs, and he just generally seems more happy and relaxed.
I would recommend William to ANYONE with a problem dog. Or just a dog that needs exercise. Every LA dog owner should hire William.
