Established in 2010.

ACTS Thrift Store was created to provide financial support to Stars for Tomorrow program. In it’s 2 years the mission has evolved and we are touching more lives that we ever imagined. ACTS has now partnered up with 12 other Non-​Profit Organizations in the Pasadena and Foothill areas to help make a difference.

Ministries — Contribute financial support to humanitarian causes that result in positive change in people and their community.

Other Non-​Profits — Participate with other charitable organizations to have a greater and lasting impact on the people and cities we help.

Employees — Grant opportunities to individuals by providing gainful employment, improving their work skills through on the job training, and earning personal income.

Manager

Tony Reyes, ACTS Store Manager

Tony has been involved in thrift store management/​ownership for over 20 years. Tony along with his wife Joyce at one time owned six thrift store locations throughout Southern California. Approached by the ACTS Thrift Store committee in late 2009 he jumped at the opportunity to get involved in such an impactful organization. Tony’s expertise in store layout, processing/​production and pricing helped the ACTS Thrift Store hit the ground running when it opened its doors in July of 2010.

I have seen this place develop since day 1 because I live relatively close to the neighborhood. ACTS is THEE go-​to thrift store in ALL of Los Angeles county!!! The prices and the discounts are ridiculously unbeatable. & their huge selection ranges from camera lens, jewelry, books, vinyl records, shoes, golf clubs and even seasonal holiday items! All for about $ 2… Its fantastic.
Yes the lines can get pretty tedious but thats because the FINDS in this place are remarkable. I once saw an amazing (nearly new) all white leather L-​shaped couch with a portable foot rest for like $ 299!!! It was sucha good piece of furniture — i still dream abt that couch!
I hope this store is always in business and stays true! ;D

It was a great place, except for the fact that it had a stench that reminded me of formaldehyde. It stuck with me for the rest of the day, and it was potent enough to really bother me.

I moved out of Pasadena a few months ago so I hadn’t been to ACTS in a while. I went this week on a Thursday afternoon. I wanted to use the 50% off coupon they emailed to me. Prices have increased by about double. Found something really great. Looked at the line and said FORGET THAT. I’ve never seen a thrift store line that long in my life. If you know this place and you look at my picture of the line, you can see that this is the second turn, meaning the line is curving at a 90 degree angle with upwards of 15 people waiting. I couldn’t stick around for that to buy one thing.
********Suggestion: have an Express Lane, PLEASE??? This is about the 5th time I’ve shopped and left without buying because of the line.

I know it’s only a thrift store but would it kill the lady working there to have some manners? No «hello, thank you» or any kind of decency towards customers when ringing them up. The store is also a mess. They need to get their ACTS together. See what I did there? :)

LOVE THIS THRIFT STORE!!! Patronize it often. I go for teaching supplies, clothes, kids books, and toys. I make sure to donate my gently used items to keep the cycle going. There is a drop box for donations off of Hill outside of the store.
Oh! Forgot to mention– Saturday morning 9am-​12pm there is 40% off everything that isn’t their 50% off for the week color. Also an educator/​military discount on Wednesdays.
They also have e-​cycle available!

Great service, always a smile on the male Supervisor’s face. Made all of the customers in line laugh while he was ringing up the whole store by himself which definitely put them at ease because the conversation changed from the ppl in line being upset to a new topic and got their minds off it. Great service too, when I was at his register you could see his genuine care for the customers time and for the stores well being as well. You can definitely see he cares about his job. This is my 2nd run in with this young man and he has been nothing but outstanding. Keep it up Raymond and Acts Thrift!

This thrift store is the best. The staff is always helpful and they go out of their way to make sure you leave happy. It’s a great family feeling. Raymond the lead supervisor is smart and courteous. Know matter how long the lines are or all the questions he is asked at the same time he never gets frustrated. He just helps everyone with kindness. He’s a keeper.

Looks like they’ve got their ACT together (see what I did there?)
Anyhoo. When I’m in the midst of a de-​clutter mania, it helps to be able to get the stuff out of the house ASAP.
You can make a pick-​up appt online and they have a staff person who emails to confirm and follow up. Pick-​up occurred as scheduled, with a receipt left for proof.
I’ll donate again — it’s easy.

This store is the worse place to work at, i just found out they fired almost ALL there SPANISH speeking emoyees. Ever since a new manager took over they have been discriminating against them fired one by one with in months theres only one latin employee left, they put up the Spanish only policy at all times. i couldnt believe the horrible stories they told me, its suppose to be Christian organization? Were going to do something about this because these people are left with no jobs… sad but true!

It was an ok place for me, I didn’t really like any clothing that I saw when I was here. Lots of shoes and boots in ok quality. Lots of heavy fur coats/​trenchcoats.
Large boutique area with lots of purses. Plenty of housewares and books, though no Harry Potter since that was my main reason to be here.

Good selection but too much stuff crammed into a small space. Selected some books I wanted and got in line. Place was busy and the line was four people deep. When it came my turn the cashier went on a break. There were still more people behind me but seems his break was more important than customer service.

I really liked the store and the staff. I got a juicer and a food processor and I thought it was an amazing deal/​find. I asked the staff if they were working and if they tested them before displaying them for sale and they said yes, it is working.
When I got home, I was all excited about my new purchases and when I went to use them… None of them worked! Are you serious? I asked them to make sure.
When I called the store and explained the problem, the woman told me they wouldn’t exchange my product nor return my money because it is they policy.
UPSET!

My go to place for thrifting, took my little cousin here recently and she had a blast as her first thrift adventure. Not as organized/​clean as Goodwill but the variety you find here is gold.
I recently picked up a new looking cashmere cowl-​neck sweater for my mom for something like $ 6 before applied discounts! On top of the cheap prices, each day of the week corresponds to discounts on various colored tags. Use your Unilocal App peoples, by checking in you can get something like 10% off.
Suggest this place for the more creative folks for costuming, you can find cheap items since Halloween is coming up. Save the environment a little more, instead of buying something new, just re-​make an item you find here! Or for the budget conscious, by thrifting you can stretch your dollar more and get more outfits for your money! Whatever your reason, just find a reason to visit ACTS!

The selection was great, it was reasonably clean inside, and I managed to find a few awesome deals. When it comes to what’s actually inside the store, it’s great. I’m a total thrift store snob and was pretty excited about finding this place.
I bought a Unilocal deal while on my way to the store on my app thus didn’t have a chance to print out a paper coupon, something that I’ve never had issue with at any other establishment anyway. When I went to buy my stuff though I was made to wait for a manager to help me, which just getting to talk to her wound up taking almost 20 minutes. Then, after getting a dirty look and a few questions of why I didn’t have my coupon printed out, it took her another 15 minutes to locate and go thru a messy clipboard filled with other customer’s printed coupons where she went thru every single one to make sure my coupon hasn’t been used before. Finally, nearly 45 minutes after I first got into the checkout line, I was out the door. Just to find that someone in the parking lot had managed to back into the side of my car while I was inside, scraping up the side, and no note to be found.
So in summary, A) don’t try to use a coupon unless it’s printed; B) don’t try to use said coupon unless you have some time to spare and reaaaaally want $ 5 off; C) make sure you park on the street as far away from that horrid parking lot as possible. Unless you really like to drive away from a thrift hunt bummed out.
