Hyatt House Parsippany East

Surprisingly a great place to stay. This Hyatt House has a full restaurant menu and a bar. The bartender was very friendly and provided a great service. I highly recommend for a business stay if you are in Parsippany. It will be my regular place to stay from now.

Beautiful hotel. We researched a lot of hotels and settled on this one and were quite happy. We were treated very excellently after purchasing our stay through an Internet website third-​party.
We were given a king size bed and put on the exquisite sixth floor at no extra charge. We enjoyed use of the sauna and hot tub as well as swimming pool.
In the morning we enjoyed the finest breakfast. A major assortment of excellent foods are available for your choice. Fresh fruits, tea and coffee, hot food, as well as yogurts, nuts, and dried fruit are available.
The room is very spacious and very comfy/​modern. The bedding was excellent.
We would definitely recommend staying at this place again. Through third-​party Internet site we paid $ 87.

Stayed here for two nights on business. Staff was friendly, helpful and courteous. Rooms are for extended stay, having a full kitchen. Bathroom was spacious. Breakfast was standard fare, they do have an omelet made to order station. Location is convenient. Shopping center next door offers subs, dunkin and an Italian restaurant. Nice walking path around a small pond nearby. Fitness room was sufficient. Laundry available.

Overall, the hotel is pleasant. My room was very spacious, the kitchen area was nice, and the hallways are cavernous. That being said, I had a rough experience with my reservation which prompted the lower rating. Had my reservation and pricing issue been handled better, I’d have given 4 stars without hesitation. Here’s what happened:
I had booked my reservation for a weekend in advance, and after doing so my travel plans had changed, and my trip extended by two additional days prior to the weekend. To clarify, at first it was just Friday — Sunday, now it was Wednesday — Sunday.
Ideally, I would have liked to have stayed two extra days at the Hyatt House Parsippany-​East, but much to my disappointment, the hotel wanted TWICE as much PER NIGHT as my original rate that I’d already booked.
My original rate was around $ 119/​night. To add Wednesday and Thursday would have been $ 216 per night for the SAME ROOM — WHY!!! Where is the logic in this??? Why charge me MORE for the SAME ROOM two nights prior?
I then had to scramble to make other arrangements, because I certainly wasn’t going to pay that much for two additional nights. ADDITIONALLY, I reached out to the hotel manager and left a message which went UNRETURNED.
To add insult to injury, I looked the night before my initial reservation and there actually were rooms available, but now at $ 150 per night. WHY did the pricing change? Can the hotel management not make up their minds on how much to charge for a room? Do they have one of those bingo ball tumblers with different numerical balls in it, and then someone picks one at random?!
I managed to have a good trip overall, but as a Diamond Hyatt Gold Passport member I was expecting better service and more flexibility. I work for a Fortune 500 company in customer support, and I often have to break bad news to people. There are better ways to do it than, «Oh, well, the prices change.»
Well, my hotel loyalty can change also.

Hyatt house is a value, extended stay hotel chain. It’s layout is like a dozen other hotels I have been in. The roomit’s laid out as a suite with a couch in a «living room» and the king sized bed in another room with doors that closed for privacy. There is even a kitchen but I didn’t avail myself of its use… The room (s) and bathroom were clean, the bed comfortable. Breakfast was included with my rate, and was perfect way to start the day with the typical cereal and toast, but they even had omelettes made to order.

A great Hotel just outside of Morristown NJ. A nice surprise is the breakfast and bar area. It’s all one place at different time but works well. Breakfast rivals any embassy suites and the small bar serves well to hang out and watch a game. Carlo is a great host at the bar and will take care of you

Really great hotel when you’re traveling. the bartender Carlos makes it an awesome night… Ask him to make you something interesting. You won’t be disappointed.

Beautiful modern and super cozy rooms, and full kitchen with utensils and dinnerware! Free and amazing breakfast *and* dinner! Gorgeous outside veranda with grill, plenty of outside seating, a pool, and a basketball court. Next door to a small shopping center with great NY Style Pizza! Very private area, but a top notch place to relax, for sure!!!

First time to a Hyatt House. I liked it, but not quite as much as most of the Homewood Suites which I more typically visit … and I’ve been looking for a replacement to that Hilton option, after several discouraging Hilton-​chain experiences.
Better than, or on par with Homewood Suites:
* Staff. Desk clerk at 1 am when I checked in after a rough travel day was funny, accommodating, and helpful. That was a five-​star experience, but in fairness, biased by the low bar set by the rest of the day.
* Gym. Nice new machines — three treadmills with the iPod plug in; a machine weight system, a large rack of dumb bells, and space to use the weights, as well as towels and a water cooler. And, it’s open 24-​hours.
* Hallways. Shorter to the cars, and wider. Probably shorter, as the facility is probably smaller than many Homewoods. But, for some reason, I always feel like my rooms at HS are a long walk from the car. May sound silly, but I like the wider hallways at Hyatt. Not just because I might need a wider berth, but I have to believe that this space better dilutes and absorbs sound. My stay was quiet.
* Dunkin Donuts next door. ‘Nuff said. ;-)
The not so great:
* My room felt worn. While it felt clean, and I felt safe, the upkeep of the room felt like a Super 8-​quality. There were ¼″ gaps among some of the wood tiles in the kitchenette. The carpet looked dingy, and was separating from the wall and tile section of the floor.
* Aroma. I like Indian food. And, good thing. There was a wall of curry … aroma, to greet me. Some people don’t like that — my boss being one. After several days, I was probably taking that cologne with me to work.
* Small and cluttered desk work area. Had to ‘declutter’ before I could set up the laptop. Not a big deal, and not that uncommon.
The pricing is a bit higher or comparable to the proximate HS options. So, the room quality will likely compel me to not go with this location again. Additionally, and no fault of this location, but it’s also farther away from the office that I visit out there.

This hotel is great. Friends and I stayed here for a convention being held at the Sheraton next door. Last year we tried booking our room for the convention too late, and the Sheraton was sold out. «Let’s try that other hotel next door, I think it’s a Hyatt,» I said. We were all thrilled! We liked it so much, we stayed here again for the next convention. (For those of you considering doing the same, it’s maybe a five minute walk, door to door, from the Hyatt to the Sheraton. You cross a road and walk through a kind of park-​like wooded area and through the Sheraton parking lot. The only problem with this is that it was not very well lit. Last time we stayed here in October, the path had street lamps and was much brighter. For some reason this year the lamps weren’t working, it was totally dark, and that was a little weird, but we were fine.)
The rooms are great. They are kind of suite style, with a kitchen (full size fridge, microwave, range, dishwasher, plates and cutlery, even some basic cooking implements). Some of the rooms have a separate bedroom area, and both of the times we stayed there we ended up with a pull out couch. The beds, couches, and chairs are really comfortable. The rooms are very clean and everything looks very up to date. The TVs are nice, and we usually bring a video game system, which we can hook up to the TV (I’ve been in hotels that have the TVs configured in such a way that you can’t do this). The walls are pretty soundproof. I see a lot of complaints on Unilocal about other hotels having «paper thin» walls. Not here! We had a social gathering in our hotel room both nights and were a little worried about the noise disturbing other guests, but I stood out in the hallway with the door closed and barely heard anything. No complaints from the front desk or neighbors either, so that was great!
There is a nice gym, accessible 24 hours. Equipment is clean and well maintained. There is also an outdoor pool, but I guess I’ve been there in the wrong season (October and April) because it’s never been open when I’ve stayed there. I love swimming in cooler weather, I would really love it if Hyatt House would open the pool sooner in the season, and keep it open later. I do realize most people wouldn’t be too interested in the pool unless it’s the summer, though.
There is a small shop in the hotel selling the usual essentials. They also have a selection of snacks, microwave/​instant meals, and a variety of beer, wine, and liquor.
Continental breakfast is great! Huge selection, everything is good. I’ve been on a healthier eating kick lately, this time I got oatmeal, yogurt, fruit, and orange juice. They also have the usual options like eggs, waffles, sausage, hash browns, and an assortment of cereals.
The staff here is really wonderful. They are really friendly and accommodating. We dealt a lot with Chris at the front desk, he was awesome. Really cool guy, really nice, and very helpful!

Nice hotel but you need a GPS to find it — breakfast is very good as they cook custom choices of eggs and omelets. Evening snacks are okay with wine and beer. The largest hallways of any hotel I have ever seen and the rooms are suites with separate bedroom. I do detest the motion activated heat as the temperature drops quite a bit and it is 15 minutes before you can take your coat off. I would stay here again.

No wonder why they call it «Hyatt House” — it’s literally a home away from home!
My boyfriend and I never have any down or alone time so I ended up coming here twice within the past two months. Each room is like a suite– comes equipped with a full kitchen (even pots, pans, utensils, cheese grater, full fridge, microwave, toaster, stove…) so that really appealed to the foodie in me!
There is also a gym on the premises that has ²⁴⁄₇ access with your room key. In the morning they serve quite the spread for continental breakfast and Tazo tea hits the spot for me!
The staff is also very accommodating and genuinely take pride in their jobs. You can tell this is a star above the rest in the area. It’s also nicely secluded off route 10, but still easily accessible to local eateries and other establishments.
Not to mention — -the price was outrageously awesome! $ 84/​night on the weekend when I booked through

I stayed at the Hyatt House on a recent work trip to Parsippany, and it was great. It’s conveniently located — about a 20 minute drive from the Newark airport. The staff was super friendly. The rooms were HUGE and comfortable, with great kitchenettes — would be a great place to be if you had to take an extended trip. And the free breakfast was great — they even had a custom omelet and waffle station — yum!
I wasn’t in the hotel enough to take advantage of the other amenities — outdoor pool (it was closed because it’s winter), the basketball court and the daily «social hour» — but those sound like they’d be great too.
If I’m ever back in the Parsippany area, I’d definitely stay here again.

Best hotel stay we have had in years. Service at the front desk (Christopher) was top notch. Quickly confirmed our reservation and crib in our room. Studio room was spacious, clean, and had a wonderful kitchenette. Hotel amenities were great — complimentary local shuttle, pool, hot tub, basketball court, exercise room w/​dumbells :), business center, and snack shop at the front desk. (Hot tub could have been a little warmer.) Included breakfast buffet was better than most. There were a few large groups at the hotel, but management brought their A game to make sure everyone’s stay was enjoyable! I just booked my next stay.
