We arrived for lunch around 12:10pm, apparently NOT a good time as there were approximately 25 – 30 people in the buffet line before us. After patiently waiting, we did eat amazing Indian food. The salad section, with Indian appys and chutneys were first and solid starters. Then came the myriad of vegetarian entrees. They had a chickpea dish, spinach with corn, cauliflower, paneer Tikka masala, aloo with chilis, some noodle fusion thing, and rice. The last area was mini dosas and Naan with sambar. I enjoyed all of the offerings, except the noodle fusion, not quite my thing. The desserts were a slight disappointment. Best by far was the warm galeb jamun. The ice cream and mango liquid were both ok. The chocolate covered wafers were good but misplaced to me as «Indian«. We had at least 20 people in line when we went back for seconds. . Overall, all was very good, but I would be hesitant to return on a weekday before 1:15pm when the crowds seemed to miraculously vanish.

I am never disappointed with the food here. There is a nice variety and food is fresh. It can get very busy on weekends so I prefer week day trips. The only negative to this place is that Ive encountered the buffet not being fully ready until about 30 minutes after they open. The staff is attentive to refilling water. Owner/manager is very nice.

The food is fantastic here! The dinner buffet has a lot of variety. Gets busy on weekends and you may have to wait.

I’ve had excellent vegetarian buffets at this restaurant when I’ve stopped there with friends on my way through Parsippany. Even if you’re a dedicated meat eater, you should check it out. You won’t even miss the meat. The variety is impressive. When they cater, in my experience, it’s not quite as good(and oddly enough, they offer chicken in addition to vegetarian dishes when catering). For catering purposes I’d rate it at three stars instead of four, but at least they keep it nice and spicy instead of chickening out and making it bland for mass audiences. However, some of the overall flavor seems to be a bit lost in the journey from Parsippany, but that’s perhaps to be expected with most mass catering.

One of the best Indian restaurants in Parsippany area. Its an all vegetarian restaurant, but you would not complain. Best food, best taste, true indian food. Buffets are very good, a bit pricey on Sunday. Al a carte also has nice options. Buffet to-go is also a good option. I would rate this restaurant 4+ stars.

Love. Love. Love. I got a gift card to Chand Palace and it was my first time eating here and it won’t be the last. The food is excellent and even though it’s entirely vegetarian(which I am), my non-vegetarian friends and family are delighted by the food. The buffet is varied and changes so there’s always a new dish that I fall in love with. Dal Makhani and Vegetables Bombay style have been my favourite so far. If you are a fan of Indian cuisine, Chand Palace will never disappoint.

Very very good all vegetarian Indian Buffet. LOVED it. I especially loved the desserts and went back for more of them. The selection is good and there was something for everyone. Naan was included as part of the buffet!

What?! This place was terrible. No option to order off our the menu and only buffet option which had only one item worth meat, not too mention, all veggie dishes were horrible. Several bites, I had to spit out large pieces I can only assume were spices of since sort but large and may I mention, chocking hazards. The ambience was odd with random Indian videos and movies playing in a stuffy setting with too many waiters in suits who barely looked at you. Had to ask for the check although hardly anyone was there and numerous waiters around. I’m all about Indian buffets, but this once just didn’t cut it. I felt sick immediately after dinner. I can’t think of a more uncomfortable experience in more ways than one than this place.

The food here tastes quite close to authentic Indian food. The highlight of this place for me was that they had Indo-Chinese on their menu. I ordered dahi puri, dry Gobi manchurian, chili garlic rice, and vegetable cutlets for take out. The cutlets were bland, but everything else was pretty good. I would say the place is worth a try.

I have only left Chand Palace too full to move and feeling slightly ill, but always completely of my own doing. Their lunch buffet is awesome! It’s vegetarian but I’m willing to overlook that when they bring you piles of fresh dosas and naan and have fantastic chaat. My friend who introduced me to the place refuses to go back with me because she says it’s embarrassing to watch me inhale my food and break into chaat sweats afterward. They also do a great job catering! Pallabi G. had a rockin’ engagement party there; the food was delicious and the bartender made a STRONG mango lassi with rum.

They have a very good selection for the buffet. Nice variety of dishes to choose from. The interior is nice, and the service is efficient. Overall good value for money. there is a huge Indian grocery store next door, I usually go shop during the weekend and go for the lunch buffet, very convenient. Also the menu changes for the buffet and is online, I usually check it before I go.

We went there for a birthday celebration, a tad bit of poor planning on our side to pick a non tested location. Was a big mistake as it turned out. It was a bit late around 8:45 we felt rushed & the behavior of waiter was rude beyond doubt, I can care least about the food which can only be described average at best.

I had been wanting to try this place for years. It’s in a small strip mall and attached to what appears to be a large hall space, where we saw a family wedding heading in. There is a buffet in the evening for $ 18pp, and everything on it was vegan except 3 dishes(and the staff was very well prepared to answer this question). There were many dishes that were new to me(like noodles and some unusual desserts), which delighted me since I come from an area with very little South Asian food. They kept us stocked with water and handled the wine happily. Spices were hotter than average for us, which we enjoyed.

Excellent vegetarian Indian food! As soon as you enter, your nostrils are filled with wonderful aromas! It is buffet style which allows you to taste many wonderful dishes This was my second visit to Chand Palace and I was pleased both times with my meal and also to see meany nationals there. That’s always a good sign in my book. You may have to ask for your check to be brought to you, I’ve read this is customary and they’re not being rude and ignoring you.

Everyone thinks the best North Indian food is in Edison, but this place is a real gem. My family has been going here for years, and we have no intention of stopping. The food has evolved nicely over time. Years ago, they started with excellent Punjabi food, with hefty amounts of spices. Over time, they grew into milder, subtler flavors that are suitable for a wider audience but still flavorful to more accustomed palates. Recently they’ve been experimenting with fusion cuisine, incorporating Lebanese, Chinese, and Mexican flavors into a few dishes. But they’ve done so without compromising the quality of the more authentic curries. The naan has also evolved quite a bit, coming now to offer parathas in the buffet: don’t miss the onion gobhi(cauliflower). The desserts are excellent, especially the gulab jamun. And if the food gets too spicy, go ahead and ask for some yogurt, either in the form of a lassi, raita, or by itself. The Indian food experience is incomplete without dahi anyway. It’s mostly vegetarian, aside from the banquet hall offerings on Tuesdays. But really, it’s no great hindrance. The most flavorful(and many of the more traditional) dishes in Indian cuisine are vegetarian. The staff is friendly, from the waiters all the way up to management, and they’re happy to make recommendations to unfamiliar diners. The dining hall is we decorated, but it’s no need to feel like you need to pay a lot for a good meal. It’s worth a lot more than it costs. My only complaint is a recent bias toward the cream based curries. tl;dr Great vegetarian food from appetizers to beverages.

Great service and food. Strictly vegetarian food, so beware carnivore — it’s not a place for you. This is the first time we’ve ever been to a dinner buffet during the weekday. It was excellent and top notch. The food was not greasy nor overwhelming in spice. When we usually go to an indian buffet, we feel bloated and sick — BUT not here. The food was excellent and they had all the dishes that we love. Even my 19 month old(who is a picky eater) ate the aloo paratha and the channa masala. They had dum aloo, which only a few restaurant can make it rt. Lets say everything on the buffet was tasty and delicious. We would have ate more if our little one wasnt sleepy and making a mess. Not to mention unlimited masala dosa… whoa!!! You have to not eat the entire day before heading over to this restaurant. We are definitely come back here soon. It’s worth the $$ and trip to come back. Come very hungry, for there are so much choices.

Very good place for Indian Vegetarian food. Since the time I have moved to Parsippany from India this remains one of my favorite restaurant. Their buffet is mostly good with mild flavors and relatively non greasy as compared to other Indian restaurants around this area. Tuesdays they serve non veg but it is best to sneak in for lunch on a weekday.

Like others said, it’s a vegetarian restuarant, at least at buffet. Everything was very well seasoned and flavorful. And they offer more interesting food than typical potato, lentil or cauliflower dishes. A place like Chand helps me to understand how/why so many Indians are vegetarian. You will enjoy all food here. The dinner(including tax) was around $ 18 but considering the variety and flavor of the dishes, I think the price was well worth it. PS: There is a big Indian grocery/super market next door. In case you need to do some shopping :)

I saw all the good reviews here, but I’m a man who eats meat, so it took awhile to be convinced to show up. In hindsight, I’d rather go back up the road. I’ve had much better Indian cuisine at many other restaurants, with more delicate and bolder flavors. The spicy dishes were not labeled as such, which I can handle but many others would have trouble with. While everything seems authentically done, the taste was just lacking overall for what I expect from restaurant quality. This tastes like someone hastily cooking dinner because they forgot a friend was coming over. There were varieties of naan that clearly had some flavoring, but I couldn’t taste anything. They bring around fresh dosas, which are quite good but have about a teaspoon of filling inside a giant envelope of… bread? egg? hard to tell. The burnt crispiness is more pronounced than the flavor. Service: Not terrible, not great. The host? was picking out several bites of food from trays as they came out. Were those for his favored guests, or himself? It was very odd seeing him take food. At the end, gratuity is automatically added. I pocketed the change, not one additional cent for tribute if you’re going to do that. Not to mention that for a buffet, 15% is toward the higher end anyway. Separate comment on desserts — the best halwa(may be the wrong spelling, but something like that) I have ever had. It was moist enough to stick together, and not too sweet. Usually I don’t eat this dish, though(I believe it’s carrot-based). There was a «fruit pudding» that was a handful of diced fruit swimming in far too much liquidy broth. The broth tastes like a great pudding, but terrible presentation. Whether or not it’s supposed to be runny, it needs a lot more fruit. Verdict: Overpriced and under-quality. Much better places in Parsippany, let alone New Jersey. Veggie or not, keep driving.
