PJ’s Sandwich Shop

If you ask for a «hot» sandwich, they microwave it. Recommend you skip this place as the service and the sandwiches are not up to par for the high prices.

Not much in the area so I didn’t know what to expect. Very tasty «hole-​in-​the-​wall» subs, salads, etc. Homemade sweet tea and lemonade. Not much seating but friendly staff.

This is, by far, the best place for a chef salad. Every time the ingredients are fresh and appealing. Friendly staff and service is quick.

Great small family business! We have loved everything we have gotten. Wish they were open on Sundays!

Just got back from first trip there as just moved to the area, definitely won’t be my last! Sub was overflowing and you could taste how fresh everything was, tomatoes especially stuck out! There was a line and they move it quickly, waited only about a minute or two for the sub to be done even though it was busy. It’s few more dollars than Subway, but well worth it to really eat fresh!

I just love finding little out of the way treasures, or dives to some, when you are out on an adventure.
This little gem is located on Rt. 301 in Parrish across from the Florida Railroad museum. They make many different sandwiches on rolls that were very fresh! I had an Italian sub «all the way» as the lady called it and it was very good. My grandsons had a PB&J so they are accommodating to kids. This little shop was busy the whole time we were there, mostly locals (the woman at the train museum recommended this place to us). Not much to look at, not many places to sit but a fun experience and a good sandwich !!

Conveintly located across the street from the railroad museum this little shop mainly serves the locals. The subs are freshly made and have a good amount of stuff in them and yet were a bit tasteless. Maybe it’s me but it seems that this is happening more and more. Any similiar experiences Unilocalers? Friendly staff, absolutely no issues for the taste thing. Weird. I don’t seem to have this problem at the West Tampa Sandwich Shop.

People, this is the best sub sandwich in the Tampa Bay area– hands down. If you are looking for that authentic sub deli experience that Subway/​Blimpie/​Quizno/​Firehouse/​etc can’t provide, I swear this is worth the drive to down 301 from Tampa into Parrish.
The fresh ingredients and the bread is really what sets this place apart from everyone else. Mainly the bread… because once you get that «right», it is hard for others to replicate and surpass. I always order the #5 (Ham/​Turkey/​Cheese) with lettuce/tomato/onion/mayo/s&p and then change it up with a little honey mustard.
The inside of the restaurant is TINY and probably can only sit 15 people, so plan accordingly if you show up between 12−1pm during lunch. It may seem there is NOTHING in the area, but it gets pretty busy and a line backs up. Actually, they may have picnic tables outside as well. The interior (and exterior, for that matter) is nothing fancy… so don’t expect an «experience» outside of your tastebuds going wild and appreciating your decision to dine at PJ’s.
Visit PJ’s and I dare you to prove me wrong in finding another deli-​style restaurant offering subs of this taste and quality. I’ve been eating here for the past year and thought I already reviewed this place, because it certainly deserves 5 stars for what they do.

A little off the beaten path lies a sandwich shop in Parrish, Florida. Home to the Florida Railroad Museum.
This shop is run by family and has a very friendly vibe and a small town feel. The owners are making your sandwich and take special care to make sure all ingredients are fresh.
I eat here very often because it is so much better than the chain sandwich shops. If you are driving down 301 and happen across this place take a minute and drop in for a great sandwich!
