Caroldane Kennels

I just picked up my dogs today January 4^th 2016. I am presently surprised on how they did. First of all to the post prior to mine. I worked at a groomers before and all dogs that go to kennels that have cement floors have a smell to them, I bathed my dogs right when I got home because of this, also dogs do get upset and tear things up and not eat when they are away from their owners ! I expected that too. The owner is old school and comes off being a little harsh but I think that is his personality. The only reason why I did not give a 5 stars is because I called to check on my dogs a couple of days into us leaving and he was quite busy and told me he had 40 dogs and that if he had to stop and answer all the phone calls he wont be able to take care of the dogs, and if there is a problem he will call me. My dogs are fine and dont look bad and are just happy to be home. I expected this kennel to not be like the typical hotels for dogs with the beds off the ground and tv and a radio and play time for extra money. My dogs where taken care of and they are fine and so am I with the results. I will take them there again.

Do not make the mistake of boarding your pets here. This place is not clean and the gentleman running the facility is not helpful. The smell of this place enough was enough to put me off when I first walked in, but the most disturbing part about the place was when I asked if I could call and check in on how my dogs were doing, the man replied «don’t call me. I have your number and if there is a problem I will call you» I felt so uncomfortable leaving my babies in a dirty, smelly, loud, crowded kennel where I couldn’t even find out how they were doing that I turned around the next day and picked them up to bring them to a different boarding facility. I would not recommend Caroldine Kennels to anyone.

I have never given a 1 star rating on any of my rating sites, which include Unilocal,Amazon, and Trip Advisor.
We took our large breed one year old female and had to leave her there for 10 days. When you read the testimonials on their website, everyone raves about how wonderful the facility is and how wonderful their animals are treated. I am certain that was not the case for our baby.
When I first walked in to leave her, the place smelled so bad I thought I was going to gag. Not a good start. My girl went with the owner with no problem. I called a few days later to check on her and he told me she was doing great. I called a second time, same response, only this time he told me he would call me if anything happens. Unfortunately, there is no live feed at this kennel.
When I picked her up, he brought me her things first. Her bed was shredded to pieces. She only messed with her bed when she was upset. Obviously she was upset a lot! She is a picky eater and doesn’t have the greatest appetite. I know a lot of dogs tend not to eat much when boarded. It looked as though there wasn’t any food missing from the container I sent. She was skin and bones. It was pitiful. Also, she smelled so bad! When I touched her slightly, my hand wreaked of that rancid odor. It was not your normal «time for a bath» smell. I was absolutely mortified when I picked her up.
She was up to date on all her shots. She had uncontrollable diarrhea for two days from the time I picked her up. She couldn’t even make it outside. By the 3^rd day she was better, so I didn’t have to make a trip to the Vet.
This may have been a prime boarding spot back in the day, but NOT now. I do not recommend Caroldane Kennels to anyone.
