The beer selection is pretty good. The bartenders are pretty good.

Didn’t expect to be giving Freddie’s five stars, but it’s worth it for what it is. Good beer bar with good, rib-​stickin’ food. Unintentionally, my gal and I split a burger on what was apparently national cheeseburger day, and it was truly in the upper tier of what I’ve had in and around town. Nothing fancy, but just a juicy, solid, cheeseburger. The accompanying fries were lightly seasoned and tasty, and I thoroughly enjoyed the corn fritters, a favorite appetreat of mine. Service was quite attentive, and did a great job of quickly bringing our group’s bills after we told here we had to hurry off to bowlin’ (hon). Solid beer selection as well, though they don’t have the tap volume of many beer-​centric city pubs. Very happy we stopped in!

Freddie’s is great! Everything from their wings and extensive beer list. They never NOT have what’s on the list for Beers! Staff is attentive and down to earth, very friendly.
They have great wings and burgers! Foosball is always a great past time when the Orioles or Ravens aren’t playing. They have a mixed crowd during the games (all fans are accepted) but mostly baltimore proud! If ever in the area, freddies is a must !!

The new ownership has done wonders! Amazing beer beer selection and wings. Still an amazing neighborhood spot, with a great feel.

Service was excellent. Wings were so so. Burgers were ordered medium and both came well done. No beer selection printed, had to go to front of bar and look on the wall. Most annoying sound system I have ever heard in a bar. Someone that knows what they’re doing needs to redo the settings. Overall it was just okay. Won’t be rushing to go back anytime soon. If not for the incredible service I would give it a 2 ½.

Beer and wings are great. Terrible, awful music. Like everything that sucked in the 90s and it’s really, really loud! Ruins the experience. Sometimes you want to relax with a beer and be able to hear your own thoughts over the Third Eye Blind.

However, this bar has increasingly become a hot spot for the games, so the additional space is needed. I just wish they would put more tables and chairs in the area where the pool tables used to be. I’m kind of getting tired of standing towards the back because everyone apparently shows up to games 5 HOURS EARLY and steals all of the chairs.
Aside from that, the bartenders are super nice, the chef is a great guy, and the food is solid pub fare! I’d suggest their wings– they’re really delicious! And I love their drink specials: mini pitchers of beer, buckets of beer, $ 5 crushes, shots, etc.
It’s definitely a preferred spot for some bird watching.

The service is always fast and friendly! The food is GREAT, especially for «bar food». We sometimes just go to eat and play the games they have! They also have a lot of specials for the games (football and baseball). Highly recommend trying it out!

I’m new to the neighborhood & stopped in with a friend after work. Great craft beer selection, and I love the mini-​pitchers. The food is nothing fancy, but solid bar fare (I hear the wings are fantastic, and I’ll definitely be back to check those out).

I first time in Freddys, was a weary, because of past stories of what you should take place there, but when in anyway despite how I felt of the Past stories, I was surprised to find that the service was very good along with the food, I will most definitely try it again, The stories are nothing like what I experienced today

Craft beer mini pitchers during happy hour $ 6. It’s a typical local dive bar with the exception of a decent craft beer selection. It was a slow start getting waited on. Both bar tenders were putting in orders and taking orders when we sat down at the bar. It probably took about 5 minutes. The bartender was very friendly and personable. We had the most decadent awesome bacon cheese fries. Omg they were the ultimate sinful delight. The wings had a great flavor but, some of them were fried a bit too hard.

So, Dead Freddies is now Freddie’s Ale House, and for the most part, the chages are positive. The new décor looks nice, with a large chalk board listing their impressive draft beers and a more open, welcoming atmosphere than it was previously. The gun-​totin’, right votin’, woman hatin’ racist stickers have been removed from behind the bar, and the clientelle has seemed to become less… um, ornery. I had been to this bar when it was still «Dead» numerous times, and I saw plenty of druken brawls, heard many disgusting things shouted at very loud volume, and basically did my best to ignore everyone around me… Not so much anymore. The place got a much needed face lift and attitude adjustment, and I believe it is for the better.
As mentioned above, the beer selection is great! They have at least 15 (or more) beers on tap, as well as bottle and cans. The prices are ok… (I have always thought that this place was a little more expensive than it needs to be, and that is one thing that hasn’t changed,) BUT, they are not so outrageous as to be a real deterrent. The menu has been revamped, and the selection looks good…
The have kept their wings, which is the main reason we started going to this place back in the Dead Days… and thankfully, they are still AWESOME! I agree that they are some of the best wings in Baltimore. So,… why three stars?
We had been since the renovation, but only when it was just beginning to roll along. It had been ok, but seeing the expanded menu online and given the amount of time it had been, we decided to try again. We went in on a Saturday night and ran into an old friend outside. He was enthusiastic about the place, and told us that the changes were great, especially to the food (He specifically mentioned the burgers, which was the reason we had come in the first place.) Good sign number one! Walking in, we were greeted with a BLAST of high volume television — they were showing the Patriots/​Colts playoff game, and the speakers were cranked! Now, I am not averse to tvs with the sound up for the game, and I know that this is a sports bar, but the place was about half-​full, and the volume was painfully loud. Another reason we had decided on Freddies was because we wanted to watch the game while we ate and had a few drinks… However, watch the game was all that we could do, as there was to be no talking over the tvs.
It took some time for the bartender to come over and take our order, but when she did, she was very nice. I ordered a draft beer, and she went to pour it, only to find that they were out of it… Ok… no problem… Ordered another kind (the list IS extensive,) and she poured it, I drank it, it was good. We also ordered wings (Hot 3s!) and they came out quickly and were delicious as always.
We both looked over the menu, and I saw what I had been craving for the past week… a Roseada beef burger, this one a special for the night, topped with wing sauce (seriously, that stuff is awesome,) and blue cheese and some other stuff. Sold. Want it. Need it. Our friend outside had mentioned that the kitchen has gotten much better at getting the temp. correct on the burgers too, so that medium rare actually comes out medium rare, which can be a tough find these days. Give it to me a little bloody, thank you…
Out of burgers. 7:00 on a Saturday. NFL Playoffs. Half-​empty bar/​dining room. Ouch.
Our bartender was courteous and helpful, eventually recommending the Fish n’ Chips, which I ordered. We also ordered a Chicken Parm sub and more drinks.
The food took A LONG time to come out, which is strange since the place was half-​full and the wings had been delivered in a matter of minutes. When it did come out, my fish was tasty, good and hot, but my fries were cold. The Chicken Parm sub was disappointing too… a small sub role, with what looks like a frozen chicken tender topped with marinara and mozzerella. This too was cold.
We left pretty bummed, though we had a nice time talking to some other friends we ran into, and again, the ladies behind the bar were friendly. Perhaps it was an off night for the kitchen? I am willing to give Freddies another chance, as their beer menu is good and their food menu has potential,… and of course, the wings. Hopefully next time they will have burgers and turn down the tvs a little.

I think this place is still building its reputation since its now under new ownership. The ambience inside is definitely nice… mason jar and vintage style lighting is cute. You can tell they have renovated recently. The waiter was attentive, friendly, and fun. They have skee-​ball, darts, and a few other arcade games, which we enjoyed after our delicious beers (they have a decent local and craft selection!). We also had hummus (homemade), wings (solid!) And buffalo chicken lettuce wraps (also very good!) I will definitely be back and strongly encourage my fellow parkvillains to try it out.

Went to Freddies for the first time tonight. It was awesome! The food was all really great. Our party had hummus platter, burgers, wings, a flathead and lettuce wraps. Everyone was very happy with their choices. The burgers were exceptional. Our bartender/​waiter was great too. He was friendly, social and very attentive. This will definitely be regular place for us.

So the new ownership has done a really nice job with the turn around. Freddie’s has a new identity. It’s an open space with a friendly vibe, and a terrific draft beer selection. (Much love to the mini-​pitchers). The sizable and numerous tvs ensure you’ll be able to watch the game from anywhere in the space. Skee Ball, darts, and Golden Tee warm up the rear of the bar and help create an enjoyable atmosphere to relax. It’s a neighborhood sports bar with outstanding wings and a solid burger. And it’s open early on weekends if the English Première League is your thing. And the breakfast specials are delicious.
There’s quite a bit to like about this spot.

Dead Freddies is your typical neighborhood bar with tons of regulars who like to come out with their friends to have a beer and watch the games. But their wings!!! UGH. SO GOOD. I haven’t stopped by in a while and was having a serious craving so we headed up to get our fix. Apparently they’re in a transition period as they gave us an abbreviated menu with just the bar food basics on it.
Their wings are amazing because the sauce is homemade weekly and it’s very spicy, peppery, and unique. The heat level ranges from 1 – 3. We ordered twenty #2s and an order of Freddie Fries (cheese fries with crispy bacon crumbles and ranch dressing drizzle). The cheese fries were less cheesier and more ranchier than I remember but it worked out well because we’re pretty healthy eaters and this was a very special cheat day. :) It’s pretty hard to mess up cheese fries anyway. The wings were amazing as usual. The sauce was spicy but it wouldn’t give you a hard time if you ate a bunch of them. They were served with blue cheese dressing and fresh celery sticks to cool you down. These are definitely some of my favorite wings in Maryland.

This place should be getting way better ratings. I’ve been here more times than I care to count. Tuesday Wing special is the best $ 20 for 20 wings and a pitcher of beer. You can’t beat that and the wings are good too!
It’s a dive place but the drinks are good and well priced, the service is what you expect and everyone is friendly. Many times you head into the local dive bar and you get the funny looks and half hearted service if you’re not a regular BUT… not here.
Yes it gets crowded on game days… but wouldn’t you expect that from a dive bar?!

If you want a crowded, loud bar then Freddies is the place to go. And it’s completely crazy here during Ravens games. I was here on one game day and literally saw guys screaming and cursing at the top of their lungs while jumping on tables. It was ridiculous! I know this town loves their Ravens, but come on now, you’re adults.
Other experiences have been that I can’t hear anything that people are saying because the music is so loud. And they have pool tables in the back, which is cool in theory, but when the place is packed, it just doesn’t work. People trying to play pool get really pissed because other people are standing around and they can’t stretch out as much as they’d like.
And the parking lot is just way too small for the amount of people come to this bar. I never get a spot in the lot and always have to try to find street parking.

Gave it another try just to be sure my first impression wasn’t wrong based on some deep internalized «issue» I might have been having. That wasn’t it. My view hasn’t changed, maybe for two fundamental reasons;
1. I am a big black guy
2. I don’t «belong»…
