The bel loc diner is awesome! It brought back many memories of after prom with friends in high school. The food is excellent and it’s family friendly. Everyone seems to enjoy the vintage atmosphere. If you want to head down«memory lane», bel loc is the place to go!

I love Bel-Loc diner, but!!! First, let me say, our wait staff person was fantastic. We went there today, because we hadn’t been there for awhile. We were seated immediately, which is good when the parking lot is packed, and you expect to wait 20 mins. I ordered the meat loaf, and my sister ordered a cheese burger. With the meat loaf came a vegetable of the day, which there wasn’t one, they didn’t calculate well for the day for hamburger buns, because by noon, they were out of them, and the owner had to run out and buy more. My salad had about a cup of chopped white onions on top. I don’t like onions in my salad, and take them off, but this was beyond removing. I was given another salad. The meat loaf was ok, not much taste, burnt on the ends. The brown gravy was thick and tasteless. In place of a hamburger bun, biscuits were substituted. The uniforms are dated from the 1950’s, maybe time for an update… how about white shirt and black slacks!

Ordered a Ham and Cheese Omelet. It was huge and tasty. Came with potatoes that were good. The place looked clean. The waitresses are all dressed in white which is different.

i stop off at the bel-loc every few months when visiting friends in the area. I usually get breakfast food, which has always been good; pancakes, omelettes, etc. good portions, expected taste. the few times I have ordered lunch fare, I’ve been less satisfied, as the food is just okay. The service is average and all other items are pretty consistent with what would be expected for a low cost diner…

I haven’t been there for awhile and typically I get the cream chip over french fries. Unfortunately, management has changed the fries to fresh cut from manufactured fries. For me, it lacks the crunch and texture this dish use to have. Other than that, service is good and consistent for a diner.

Great authentic diner. Great breakfast food and good portions. However, the menu could use more variety even though all the basic diner food is there. I wish they were open past 3pm. Good, solid breakfast of eggs, bacon, hash browns, and toast. Will visit again!

Great breakfast! They use fresh ingredients and the servings are more than ample. Great service as well.

Kind of surprised I haven’t yet done a review for this Baltimore area legend, being that I usually get here once or twice a year! Alas, this is another classic place that just hasn’t stayed above par, at least in my estimation. My experiences have been pretty much limited to breakfast, and writing this review I find«limited» to be a very apt word. The breakfast menu is indeed limited. Yes, the usual basics are there, and I’m really not expecting anything fancy. But there could at least be some combo platters. Today I ordered a ham, mozzarella and onion omelette, which came with taters and toast(I went with my usual rye). I probably ate a little over half of the omelette, which just wasn’t real tasty, with the onions tasting a bit funky. The potatoes are standard diner style, as in boring. I continue to be amazed at how bland most diner home fries tend to be. The toast was fine, and at least the butter packets didn’t feel like they just left the freezer! The coffee was such that I didn’t opt for a refill. Service was fine, and the cost wasn’t out of whack, so decent marks there. I’m tempted to make my rating a three, but it’s just not fun to leave a place dissatisfied with a meal.

Great traditional diner. Very good service, the food was hot and delicious and the place was remarkably clean. I especially liked this place because they give you a small glass of ice water with your morning coffee, which was continually refreshed. I felt the prices were extremely reasonable and would suggest going there when in the area.

After two hours of driving in the rain, this place was a welcome oasis. Since it was nearly 1PM, we went with some lunch offerings but I want to go back for the breakfast! Typical diner menu but the place was bright and sparkling inside. The servers all wear white which kinda made me think ‘nurses’ at first but it works. Service was friendly and fast. This place sits on a busy corner and the parking lot looks like it could be a little dicey during busy periods but it’s an easy spot to get to from 695.

I still wish they would return to the 24-hour schedule, but barring the 3 pm closing this place still holds up. My dad took me out for my birthday lunch and we both got the Eggs & Scrapple(I think it was $ 5.99) and coffee. The coffee was perfect diner coffee — not too acidic and no need for sugar. The scrapple was crispy on the outside and soft but hot on the inside(as it should be). Service was great! Clientele was mostly older folks(like my dad) and some young moms with kids, but it was QUIET for a diner. No music, very little chatter. I miss my 3 am breakfasts there though.

Stumbled upon this place because it was next-door to my hotel. The waitress was extremely friendly and bubbly. Service was excellent, the food was typical diner fare but prepared well.

Certainly an older diner. server was courteous, checked on us several times. Food was prepared well. From what I could see the diner was clean and comfortable. Nice place to come for breakfast. Lots of customers when we visited

The food wasn’t spectacular but it was good. I had a decent cheeseburger, good meat but awkward roll and stiff lettuce. Delicious milkshake! It’s a diner, it’s got what you want in a diner– although this menu isn’t gigantic like some. The service was superb! It might not always be that way, but when I was there the waitresses were well-dressed and cheery and quick. After so much bad service at other places in Baltimore and DC it was a shock!

Diners are for breakfast and that’s about it. Bel-Loc has been on that corner for almost 50 years and there has been some updating inside and outside but not much so don’t expect more than a very plain place. We were headed to the Big Screen Store(BSS) and wanted to eat breakfast nearby. The Bel-Loc was the closest to our destination. We tried to enter the parking lot around noon and could not find a space so we left and went to the BSS and came back a half — hour later. There were three spaces so we parked and walked in. The hostess told us to sit in the back room and we would be served soon. In a few minutes our server came by and took our order. I ordered the Kraft blueberry pancakes. My husband ordered the French toast and a scrambled egg as a side. I loved my pancakes. I was served three large tender pancakes filled with juicy blueberries. It was too much for me to eat so I gave some to my husband. His French toast was made from ordinary white bread and the egg looked greasy. I think I was the winner and enjoyed my pancakes to the last bite. The coffee was hot and decent(no it’s not Starbucks or Royal Farms) and they even had skim milk. Our server kept the cups high and hot so we had no complaints about the service. This was a decent breakfast to start the day. The price was right, the place was clean and the service was good. Neither one of us got sick and we would return if we can find a parking space on that postage stamp sized parking lot.

The parking lot, during«peak» Diner hours(breakfast hours, I reckon), is pretty full. I got lucky and got the last available space, but there’s clearly not enough space for the crowds this place draws for morning or after-church times. The food I ordered(ham and cheese omelette with home fries that looked more like forked and smashed potatoes) was solid, but nothing memorable or especially tasty — it’s plain old diner food, most of which needs salt or ketchup to get by, or needs to be mushed together to create some flavor. The coffee is fine, about the same from the break room at work. The treat, though, is the speed and friendliness of the service, and the cleanliness and look of the diner. Our waitress, garbed in … scrubs(?), brought out our food in less than ten minutes, and just a glance at her had my coffee refilled. The seats are that light blue 50s shade, and the booths have metal hat racks for coats and, well, whomever still wears hats. I think I’ll be back, and I’ll definitely try some different food.

I am so blown away that the good olé Bel Loc Diner has such a low rating… not sure what kind of experience people are expecting from a diner? This place has it all… ambiance, decent food, cheap prices, great selection, fast service. If you are expecting a cloth napkin, Michelin star rated restaurant then go downtown and go somewhere else! Bel Loc has been there for almost 50 years and has been satisfying customers the entire time! I remember coming here early before school to get french toast and with my parents when I was little after my brother’s swim practice early in the morning to have breakfast before going home… ahhh the nostalgia!!! Come here if you want authentic Baltimore Diner grub!

Typical diner menu, very friendly service. Our only visit to this quaint diner did not yield great culinary results — boring, underseasoned sandwiches and passable fries. The service was so nice, though, that we’ll consider visiting again to try some breakfast offerings or maybe a burger.
