Parker Adventist Hospital

Worst hospital ever for knee surgery, or any orthopedic operation, no safety precautions used when moving patients, allowing orderlies to take patients out for walks with no safety belt. The OR only treats you like a person if you have money (curtains for privacy. Your liaison calls you for an update then comes out 2 minutes later and notifies the person with money face to face) orthopedic nurses would rather sit at their station and discuss drinking and partying than attend to patients needs (the entire floor not just one patient) Not helping the patients start their PT instead telling them to just lay there (the PT nurse had to yell at the floor nurses to get anything done) Terrible terrible hospital for orthopedic surgery! Stay safe and go somewhere else.

First time with Radiology, the third party oncology office booked a 2 pm appointment, THEN told my mom the procedure requires nothing by mouth for 12 hours so she asks to change it to the other offered time, 10 am. Show up, appointment is still at two and later oncologist confirmed they had called scheduling for the change.
Next time, after a week and a half long battle to get another procedure scheduled, they ask which meds she’s taking which I provided. Give me the all clear then 13 hours before the procedure, they cancel because one med is so new they didn’t know it would cause problems. They had six and a half days to figure that out from booking time and only tell us after its too late (24 hours without taking it) to fix it.
Pretty campus with an excellent café on the garden level otherwise.

This hospital is great, nice and new and clean. I fell off a horse and fractured my spine and got taken to the ER here via ambulance. The ER staff was quick, got my CAT scan done ASAP and then admitted me to a room on the 2^nd floor, which was a little bit of a wait. The staff was superb, with the exception of maybe 2 nurses who were less than compassionate. The CNA’s are amazing, I don’t envy their jobs but good for them for being the type of people they are. My neurosurgeon was awesome too, Dr. Markey. If I ever need hospital services again I will be going here no question.

Due to the circumstances, it’s with a heavy heart that I write this. But I must give credit where it is due.
My beloved grandmother suddenly went into cardiac arrest. It was unexpected. My brother, sister-​in-​law and I immediately went to the ER. We were taken into a private room (not a good sign.)
Some time later, a doctor came in to talk to us and tell us the bad news — that she suspected my grandmother would be gone within the hour.
While the doctor was talking to us, a frantic nurse came in to get her, the doctor politely excused herself and rushed out the door.
I had to knock off a star because of what happened next. As the doctor was leaving, an alarm started to flash and an alarm sounded very loudly in the room we were in, for Room 2 (the room my grandmother was in.) It was saying «CODE BLUE «over and over again. As a healthcare worker myself, I know what this means (and it, by the way, is not good.) Watching it flash and alarm, knowing my grandmother was coding, was really disturbing. Now, I know and understand WHY this is in place, to let any doctors or nurses know that all hands are needed on deck… but it would be nice if the alarm wasn’t present in the very room where staff comes to tell family members that their loved one is going to die. I remember yelling to my brother to turn it off, it was like I was watching my grandmother die without even being in the room with her.
Minutes later, the doctor came in again to tell us that she was gone. A few minutes later, a very nice nurse came in to answer any questions we may have.
Then we were taken to see her, and the kindest, gentlest, most compassionate Chaplain I have ever met came to sit with us. My whole family is very grateful for his kindness. I wish I could remember his name. But, thank you.
We were given as much time as we needed with her before we left a couple of hours later. We are really appreciative of the compassion shown to us by the staff at Parker Adventist. Thank you, and thank you for trying so hard to save her.

I would give this more stars if they fix the parking situation. Not enough parking spots for the amount of people that are here. Come 15 minutes early for an appointment since you will be driving around looking for a place to park. It also appears they are building more office spaces but no additional parking.

Great wait times for the ER and the staff were amazing!

Late night running on a Friday night, fell and did a pretty good job spraining my ankle and not being able to put any weight on it or walk. I called around to the local urgent care facilities to see if they could treat this as I didn’t want to go to an ER — but the urgent care places advise to go to the ER instead in case it I broke something. So along I went to the ER and the front desk were superb, fast and friendly. Got in and out in a reasonable amount of time (maybe 1.5 hours tops) and they took both insurances I have (because I’m accident prone I have 2 insurances lol — no billing issues yet).

Who would have thought I would be holiday shopping in a hospitals gift shop. Well think again. There really is not a lot of items that I would consider but there were these sparkly slippers I could not resist for a few gifts on my list. Pricing was great. I was worried about not finding time to shop. Well I was wrong. The baby slippers I wanted to buy however came in only 3 months. Oh well I did get to mark off a few gifts.

Have been to the Children’s Hospital annex many times here. I can’t speak highly enough of the staff and quality of care here.

I have had the experience of this hospital treating members of my family. Always treated with respect and it’s more than just a hospital. The atmosphere is so nice and the staff is not only talented, but caring and compassionate. The food in the restaurant is not to be skipped over. They have some great dishes.

I have 2 crazy little boys so I have been here plenty of times. The people are always so wonderful. I just delivered my little girl here this past November and it was such a great experience. I delivered my 2 boys at skyridge and I recommend Parker! at Skyridge it was just tooooo busy. They just rush you and at parker everything was so smooth.

I’m updating my review based on some recent bad experience with this hospital’s billing department which I have been informed by others that they have dealt with similar ILLEGAL practices as well. I had done a significant amount of treatment at this facility after an auto accident.
The bills I received for that treatment were astronomical for the services, but fortunately my auto coverage was paying them or at least that’s what I thought was supposed to happen. Apparently my insurance didn’t pay Parker Adventist the full amount billed for the services because they did not consider the treatment fees to be billed at a reasonable rate. So, my insurance paid what was «reasonable». Now, about a year after my treatment this hospital has turned me into medical collections for the remainder of their billed balance, despite my insurance and myself attempting to tell them several times that neither of us were paying them anymore for the services.
This bill, is now threatening my job as I am considered «financially unstable». If you ever wanted to experience illegal practices for yourself first hand, I highly recommend this hospital. If you don’t enjoy being harassed everyday for months on end by several phone calls from a debt collector (even though I notified them in writing to cease communications with me) I SUGGEST YOU GO ELSEWHERE. The staff is great but you do not want to deal with the nightmare of the administration (the staff is the only reason I am not updating this to a 1 star).

Very nice nurses they take very good care of you. I hate hospitals but if you have to go to one go to this one.

It may sound funny to rate a hospital for it’s food but this place has great food! I’ve been to lunch here without having anyone actually in the hospital to visit so you can be sure that the food you’ll get as a patient is good too. I love that they have free valet parking for patients since this parking lot can get very full with all of the new medical offices that are filling up in the complex.
They also have lots of great programming and during the holidays you’ll often be treated to local choirs caroling or sharing music in the beautiful lobby as you enter.

I never really bought into physical therapy, just thought anybody could do exercises at home. Over the past year I have two issues with my back where my physician recommended physical therapy. I was skeptical on my first visit but quickly realized the therapists at the Parker Center for Rehabilitation & Sports Medicine are extremely talented in their field. Went twice a week for six weeks and was completely cured of my upper back issue. I thought it was just something I would have to live with.
My whole thought process of physical therapy has changed. Recently I developed another back issue where the doctor recommended I see an orthopedic surgeon. The surgeon instantly prescribed surgery which didn’t set well with me. I decided to try physical therapy again. I’m just wrapping up my sessions and the lower back issue has cleared up allowing me to avoid the surgery.
I’ve used Amanda and Laurie over the past year, both of them were absolutely amazing. If you find yourself in need of physical therapy this place is amazing. Everyone from the front office to the technicians have always been super friendly and focused on providing the best service possible.

Ok, so no one ever really WANTS to go to the hospital, right? Right!
I recently found myself in a situation where it was NOT an option. I chose this hospital for three reasons: 1. It was fairly new. 2. It was not far from my home. 3. My Primary Care Physician’s office is associated with Parker Adventist so I knew it would be a snap for him to get my records from the hospital stay.
I was NOT disappointed. They really focus on pain management at this location, and they are very diligent about it. I was very happy with the care I received. All the staff, with just two exceptions, were fantastic, and quite caring.
I know where I’m heading if I ever need hospitalization again. If I have a choice in the matter, it will definitely be Parker Adventist Hospital!

They mis-​diagnosed a normal MRI with Lymphoma! Then said they made a mistake. The nurses and staff treat you like you are bothering them. I wouldn’t have a splinter removed from this hell hole!

We had one of our children here October 2008 as well as had many trips to L&D for complications with 2 pregnancies one that just occurred January 2012. The staff was amazing every time. They were so patient, understanding, informative, and CALMING!
The exterior and interior are immaculate! The rooms in L&D are so spacious, clean, and all have BEAUTIFUL big windows and views.
The food was amazing! I couldn’t get enough of it! The also didn’t skimp on the amazing items that hospitals give when sending you home with a new baby! I got so many diapers, wipes, formula, receiving blankets, hats, and little soaps, lotions, etc.
The security in the Maternity Ward is INCREDIBLE!!! I have never felt so comfortable and safe wit a new baby. The truly went above and beyond.

Pretty fancy looking place. I was very surprised at how packed the parking lot was around this hospital. The best place to find parking is around back but you’ll be walking a ways to get back to the main entrance.

Well I just had my appendix taken out. Went in for stomach pain at my Doc office, then I am getting a catscan, and the next thing I know they are sending me down to Parker to check myself in for surgery.
The prep team was super great; Lisa was so nice and really took care of me and calmed my nerves. I have never had surgery before, and I was feeling a little freaked out.
The whole staff was supportive and explained everything to me in terms I could understand. The recovery nurse Terry was just as nice and really helped me feel at ease after coming out of the «sleep»
My night shift nurse Jeff and CNA Sarah, were so helpful and nice. I really was impressed with everything about my stay here. The hospital is very organized and very accommodating in every way.
My daytime nurse Kelly and CNA Autumn were great too. Kelly really helped me understand what to expect after leaving and really did a great job.
I am not a fan of hospitals but having this emergency surgery here made the trauma not so terrible.
If you have a choice of hospitals, I would highly recommend this location hands down.
Now just wait til I get the bill…
