History

Established in 2013.

Stacey Conklin was first bitten by the «couponing bug» as a child, searching for the drawing of a Native American with a star on the wrappers of Tootsie Roll pops that would grant her a free lollipop. She helped her mother cut out coupons, and once she started a family of her own six years ago, she started cutting them out for herself.

Now Conklin shares «coupon karma» with residents and visitors of Summit and Wasatch Counties with a company she started in October of 2013: Stacey’s Grocery Services. Conklin and her associates shop and deliver groceries using over $ 300,000 worth of coupons to find clients as many savings as possible.

«I have always been a ‘couponing mama,’ and I noticed there was a need for a grocery delivery service that goes above and beyond the normal routine of just picking up groceries,» she said. «I really want to put the ‘coupon karma’ into my shopping. It’s really not out of our way to cut them out and carry them around with us.

For Stacey, being a professional shopper and couponer is already a full-​time pursuit. She launched her own business in 2013, primarily to serve the many visitors who come to her mountain resort city each winter. Those visitors found they needed help stocking their guest residences, but didn’t want to spend any of their valuable vacation time grocery shopping.

Several personal shopping businesses sprung up in the area. But Conklin said many of them charge big bucks, corresponding to their well-​heeled clients’ deep pockets, and just because these visitors can afford to pay a premium, she thought, doesn’t make it right. «Why don’t we thank them for being here and give them the best price on the best products that we can?»

And out of that came Stacey’s Grocery Services. «As an extreme couponer, I understand the value and importance of saving as much money as I can,» her website quotes. «I try to instill that same philosophy in my company.»
