A Degree Above Heating and Cooling technicians try to right the wrong done to customers when Weather Busters/Air Masters flew the coup AND DO A GREAT JOB!

I bought an HVAC system with a maintenance agreement for 5 years. The Weather Busters is now closed and not honoring the contract. However, the number is still active and forwards to another HVAC company. The new company, A Degree Above Heating and Cooling, claims to have no affiliation with the Weather Busters. It is impossible that they are not affiliated if they have the same number as the previous company. This is a scam! Do not trust the new company and file a complaint with the BBB if you are a victim of the Weather Busters. It is illegal for a company to take over for a business and not honor previous contracts. Do not trust the new company. A Degree Above Heating and Cooling is affiliated with the Weather Buster who burned a countless number of consumers.

It’s true, Weather Buster is closed. Yesterday after freaking out realizing they were closed and my warranty would not be honored, I left a message at the company my call was redirected to, called A Degree Above. As another reviewer put it, I was extremely skeptical as to what would happen next. I was skeptical until they squeezed us in on a hot day, did a great job fixing the problem, stayed until they were certain the fix was good, and refused to take a tip (who refuses to take a tip?!). Turns out they are former employees of Weather Busters. They were also left high and dry when the company closed. So they started their own company called «A Degree Above Heating & Cooling». They also gave me a lot of free advice — pointing out the filter I was using wasn’t the best for my system, and other tips on maintaining the A/C. So the silver lining in all this was finding Lou and Danny. They are cool guys, and A-list in quality. Unqualified recommendation.

These guys are out of business. They abruptly closed their doors without warning, and left all of us with pre-paid maintenance contracts in the lurch. They should be a class action suit for breach of contract.

Very nice technicians. I had them out here a couple of times and they seemed to be honest and came out promptly. Their prices seem pretty high, but I guess it’s standard local industry pricing. The repairs that they did were done quickly and I never had any issues following the repairs. I’ll be using them again in the future.

Called and their voicemail says they have «suspended operations». Signed a service agreement with them — anyone know when they suspended operations? Would like to know if this is a recent thing or if they’ve been out of commission for several months and I need to start searching for a replacement.
An email to existing customers with more info would’ve been appreciated… to be fair I’m not familiar with the circumstances behind the suspension… hope all is okay.

I called Weather Busters a year ago when it looked like my ancient furnace would not be able to crank it up for one more winter. They replaced the furnace with a unit that took up ½ the space, and they also replaced the boiler, which was 13 years old. Of course the price tag was steep, but it was fair, and they offered 24 month financing with no interest, and I have been saving money on my PSEG bill steadily over the year.
On the one-year anniversary of installation, they came out to inspect the units for free, satisfied a whole checklist of specs, and they offered me a $ 15 per month club membership that beats PSEG worry-free’s exclusion-laden terms of service.
They are always helpful when I call, and if I need to speak to the big boss for reassurance, they put him right on the phone. Highly recommended.

BIGGEST MISTAKE OF MY LIFE. DO NOT TRUST THESE PEOPLE.
I asked this company to fix a simple problem in my AC in my NJ home… After they leave my house, parts of my AC were missing! And when I tried to talk to the owner he hung up on me. They are awful and I hope none of you try to deal with them.

Tried them out thanks to the Groupon. Had very little info on them, though did find out they are on Angie’s List. Serviceman was extremely professional, spent about 2 hours going over our system, telling me what was what and how it worked. Did not try to sell my anything. Also the only place in the area that is upfront with their pricing. I will use them for all of my heating and cooling repairs in the future
