Sephora

Ew. Only gave it 2 stars because Hello! It’s a Sephora and is basically paradise being surrounded by all those cosmetics. I hate this Sephora for numerous reasons.
1. The staff isn’t as helpful as the staff at other locations. You know what they are helpful in though? Chasing you all over the store, speaking into their little microphones and peeping you like if you about to steal a dirty gross and used tester that probably is contaminated with some sort of STD. Listen you Whoopi Goldberg looking sales associate, I don’t care if that little red dress you wear makes you feel like a detective but I’m not here to steal so get off my back. Plus they are always talking about a customer in their walkie talkie thing and not in a good way. One time some girl came in to return some teeth whitening machine which obviously was used. Anyway, I heard them talking in their ears when she came in saying «Shes back, get her. Lets see if she is using her license or passport this time. Watch her guys». Yea, it was hilarious and I was laughing but damn, you’d swear it was a sting operation. They literally said «get her». They are too much haha.
2. Extremely small. For a Sephora store in such a high traffic mall, you’d think they’d have two floors. Everyone knows Sephora is usually always crowded and having a prime location in GSP makes it even worse!
Oh and don’t ever ask for a sample. God forbid you do, it’ll be the most ridiculous death stare and eye roll you have ever seen. Girl, give me my sample and keep it moving.
My tip? Go to the one in Paramus Park just a few minutes away. It’s actually bigger (even though Paramus Park has way less traffic), easier to navigate, has more products and they sales associates there are super nice!

I will never stop shopping at Sephora in Garden State Mall always had a good experience but today 11÷30÷15 the employee by the name of XHENSILA that is a seasonal employee now asks me if i need help… i said no thank you her response was… ohh ok BITCH! umm excuse me i spend overr 1000 dollars yearly who are you to speak to me like that cause im a makeup artist and i dont need help im a bitch now!!! i told the manager and she stood there and just apologized in sarcasm im sorry but if i was manager i would of fired the girl right on the spot. I know not all customers are fair but this was no acceptable for an employee… If i said no thank you just back off ill call you if i did need help. This is ridiculous! i will contact headquarters.

Worst sephora everr! I am a regular customer even with all the disappoint they give me every time I go! All the employees are stupid and unprofessional
They are not helpful at all! They all get annoyed when u ask them for help! They do not make u feel comfortable .I’m always scared to ask them for help! None of them have accurate knowledge of makeup !! I always take home the wrong things

I came here for a recent VIB rouge event, and it was really really great! I have only been to one other rouge event and i attended at a different local sephora. Every employee was friendly and helpful, the line to check out went quick, and there were cutely decorated and yummy cupcakes to eat! I have never had an issue at this sephora with customer service. I am deducting a star because this particular location does not have some of the brands that other sephora’s have, but there’s always room for improvement.

Terrible, sales staff is not very knowledgable or helpful.

Was in the GSP the other night when I received an urgent text message from my sister. It seems that my niece left her Urban Decay #1 or whatever the hell it’s called at college and her life depended upon getting another. Being the dutiful yet clueless uncle, I inquired where I might purchase this item. My inquiry was met with stunned silence. It was truly a «I can’t even…» moment after which she said «Sephora» and I think there might have been a «duh» following it but I can’t be certain.
So I go to Sephora and ask the friendly sales associate where I might find the desperately needed item. She walks me over to the display, hands it to me and shows me the way to the check out counter. I think the Urban Decay thing was about $ 50 but, judging by the line, they must have been giving something away for free that day because there were at least 30 people in front of me, all waiting to be checked out by three registers.
RULE #1 OF RETAIL:
DO NOT MAKE PEOPLE WAIT TO GIVE YOU THEIR MONEY.
Stores like Nordstrom have learned this lesson all too well and can check out credit paying guests with their iPhones. There are always going to be some people who leave the line and take their business elsewhere. That night I was one of those people. I left the store, walked next door to Macy’s and was happily on my way, Urban Decay #1 in hand in under 5 minutes. EPIC fail, Sephora.

The store director lumka is very argumentative. I had to leave the store without my purchases. Terrible experience.

I’ve been shopping here for years, as it is located in the closest mall to me and has a wide variety of makeup options, I never felt the need to review it because I’ve always had pretty great service here, but after my visit today I am a little thrown off about how they treat their customers. I purchased a product as a gift today a VIB member and right after I left the line I remembered that I needed a gift box, the worker was reminded by her management that they don’t give boxes unless you purchase something, which she quickly took back after seeing my sephora bag (way to be discreet). After this the employee went to the stack of boxes, picked up a random box knowing my gift would not fit in there and reached for a gift bag but put it away after grabbing it, like do these people think customers are blind and deaf or just stupid. We took the box because we didn’t want to deal with it, but will be making purchases online from now on so I don’t have to deal with instances like this. Will still give it 3 stars because everyone else working was great!

This store is simply the epitome of what all Sephora stores should be like. I’m usually here on either a Friday or a Saturday, when they are extra busy. There are tons of specialists on the floor & they always have a smile on their face and are willing to help. Everyone is super friendly and constantly compliments you on your makeup. I’ve noticed the ladies interacting with each other during makeup sessions; its always a supportive environment. It’s great to see this go on. Daniella is my go to girl for beauty makeovers. She is super friendly and very knowledgeable about everything that she’s applying on my face. It’s like a mini tutorial every time. Major kudos to management and to the staff here.

I have typically always bought my makeup at the cosmetic counters of the department stores. The experience is more focused & less overwhelming. For years I have avoided Sephora as I always felt the variety, choices of brands was too overwhelming & I could never focus on what I wanted. But I recently got over it this hesitation & was like a kid in a candy store! While there are certain brand items I use regularly that I would still need to get from one of the department stores as Sephora doesn’t carry these brands, I am definitely more comfortable shopping here & look forward to my next visit.
Been to this location a few times, service has never been an issue. It used to be on the upper level next to Macy’s but currently at the lower level across from JC Penny & another small area inside JC Penny. Moved temporarily due to refurbishing in the original location.

I went here specifically to do the skin IQ test, where they’re supposed to tell you which foundations best match your skin tone. When we arrived it was a MAD HOUSE. Packed to the brim. Yet, I was able to get help, so kudos to them. This nice young girl took a digital photo of my skin, and gave me a list of foundations that match my skin tone. She also helped me find several of them in the store. Everyone I dealt with was very friendly and helpful, though by the end I was exhausted by the squash of people. Obviously however, that is not something they can control! As always Sephora is of course pricey, but worth while for finding high quality beauty products.

This is more like a 2 ½ star review. The Sephora employees I’ve encountered at the register have always been pleasant and helpful with returns, exchanges, and general information regarding Sephora member perks, etc. Also, they seem to have a great deal of patience when dealing with obnoxious customers. Garden State Plaza is full of them. This location loses stars because of the heavy presence of brand specific representatives that really kill the buzz when I’m trying to browse. I’ve been a loyal Sephora customer for nearly 10 years and damn, I’ve purchased and tried enough product to know a thing or two about my own skin. Occasionally I’ll ask a question, but generally, I go in knowing what I’m looking for, what makes my skin break out, etc. The last thing I want is a representative of a brand I’m not familiar with telling me all other brands are bad, and that I should buy whatever it is they’re selling.
I was at this location a week ago, browsing Olé Henrikkson (love the lemon strip peel!) and Perricone, when a nice enough woman approached me telling me to forget Olé Henrikkson and buy this exfoliator by Dermadoctor. We talked for a while and before I knew it my basket was full of Dermadoctor products. While I appreciated her enthusiasm and passion for the brand, I found it disconcerting when she openly said that all other brands were sh*t. I mean really? Dermadoctor is better than Kate Somerville Exfolikate? My suspicions were raised when she excused herself to get some water, and I overheard a Sephora employee saying that Dermadoctor reps were in store that day. Then I realized, this woman didn’t really care about my needs specifically, she was selling and pushing Dermadoctor hard because she worked for them. Sneaky. I put the products back on the shelf and went about my business. It is a major turn off when a person sells to you just for the sake of selling.
Apart from that, this location is alright.

I’ve been going to this Sephora last few years, this is one of my regular place I shop in the mall. I noticed their service got improved lately. And they have enough staffs to help customers and fast cashier process. I went for make up application service several times on this Sephora location. This was best experience so far. Make up artist Joanna was just so great and friendly, made me feel comfortable during consultation and make up applications.
I revisited again to purchase atomizer for my perfume, they offered to fill my new atomizer with any perfume I want to try (one time offer). I was satisfied their service and hope they will stay this way.

DO NOT GO TO THIS LOCATION! Horrible! The employees will sell you anything with NO knowledge. The girls are always chatting with each other and are of no help. They could care less about what you need, it sort of feels like they are rushing you to just get what you want and get out. One of the managers is the worst! If you are of any color she will watch you like a hawk! Makes you feel so uncomfortable! Go to a different sephora… this one is not worth it!

I went back and the customer service was 10 times better than the last. There were tons of employees on staff in every section of the store. All were very helpful with everything from makeup to perfume.
If they keep this up Sephora will not be at risk of ending up on my «do not patronize» list.
