Maven was the third PT place I went to for an injured back after a motor vehicle accident last October. I found them to be much more proactive and ready to force the muscles to heal with expert hands on therapy and strengthening with physical workouts. They were also very honest about my prognosis if I didn’t pay attention to my posture both while exercising and while relaxing or working. They not only know their stuff, but they walk the walk by constantly training themselves and giving back to the community by participating in local sports events for charity. I’m finally pain free and back to moving and working out with ease. I would have given 5 stars if the building they WERE in was cleaner and maintained, but that will be rectified when they move to a nicer location at the end of August 2015. Maven is truly a perfect place for excellent physical therapy outcomes.

I injured my shoulder last year a week before the Spartan Super. Dr. Jerry took care of me so I can still complete the race and after the race both Dr Jerry and Dr Dave help me get better and stronger than I was before. They provide you with the treatment you needed and help you get better and doesn’t rush you out of the clinic like other PT clinic I have been to. Most PT I been to they treat you and send you home and tell you to do exercises on your own. At Maven Clinic, they make sure you do the exercises there under their supervision before sending you home. The staff there are super friendly and caring. They are very personable and treat you like a friend not just another patient. If you have any injuries, I highly recommend making an appointment with these guys and have them fix you up.

I came to Maven at the beginning of the year due to a hip/​running related injury. Since then, not only have Dr. Jerry Yoo and Dr. Dave Kwon completely healed my hip issue, but I am in the best shape of my life. The doctors at Maven are top notch: you NEVER feel like you are «just another patient» as they care about you deeply and make sure that all of your needs are met. I have been to other physical therapists before, and I have never felt like my injuries were solved until now. They make sure that you know how to take care of yourself and make sure that your issue is solved long term through good physical fitness. Once you a part of Maven, you are a part of their family, and they will continue to look out for you. One of the best decisions of my life was definitely picking up that phone to make my first appointment.

I have always suffered & delt with the long healing process when I had an injury. After learning about Maven Physcal Therapy I realize how important it is to treat the injury properly with physical therapy so that the injury heals quickly & correctly. They use techniques to help recover, teaches proper body mechanics, stretches, health, diet, & everything for a full recovery plus a helthier life style so your less likely to get other injuries.
It has been exactly 1 year since I became a Maven. I completed the MP 5. Thank you Taylor, Jerry, Anthony, & the whole Maven family. The Maven experience is rapidly growing, a great learning experience of living a healthy lifestlye & much more.

Maven is a special place.
Usually, you would think of PT as a place to recover (from an injury, impairment). But Maven is a place to both recover, and to grow in your abilities. Wherever you start with them, if you apply yourself, you can be stronger, faster, more able than before.
For me, it was an achilles problem. Maven put me on track to not only recover, but get stronger and faster with better running technique.
Jerry, Dave, and Taylor are dedicated to strenthening the community with charitable events and local fitness classes. A great group of people.

The best pt clinic in the country. Maven not only cares about your rehab, but they care about your overall health so you will not get injured again. I use to go for rehab on my back and they would treat it well, but they challenged me to take better care of myself by exercising and eating right. They coached me through this and I lost 30 pounds and am in the best shape of my life. No more back pains!

I cant begin to explain the gratitutde I have for every single person at Maven PT. I have been coming here for the past 8 years for many different injuries. This past year I had the worst possible thing happen to me… I had a brain anuerym and a stroke. After spending almost a month in the ICU when It was time to go home my doctors wanted me to do my rehabilitation at Kessler. My husband spoke to the doctors and told them that I would be continuing my rehab at Maven. After months of PT with Dr. Jerry Yoo and the amazing staff at Maven… I am not only healed but I am back better stronger than before. I have never been to a place where everyone genuinely cares about you. You are treated like family when you are here. I am beyond grateful for Maven… I wouldnt be where I am today without them and I am forever thankful!

In my life I have been especially injury prone. I’ve always played sports: hockey, baseball, football, basketball. Most recently I’ve been doing Jiu-​Jitsu and kickboxing. I’ve had Acl reconstrucition, 3 meniscus tears, labrum tear, 2 broken toes… ive had more than my fair share of Physical Therapy.
Maven’s approach to PT i slightly different. They address the complete body to not only help recover the injury but also to help strengthen the muscles that will prevent it from happening again. For example Dave from maven found that it was more likely my hip muscles contributing to my knee injuries. He addressed this with agressive hip corrective exercises. He was the first PT to provide me this type of analysis. I would HIGHLY recommend Dave and the Maven PT staff. They truly care about their patients.

Maven Physical Therapy somehow became a place I look forward to visiting despite the reason that actually landed me there. I went through about 16 weeks of PT with them for my hip last year and have done about 7 weeks for a torn MCL since March (life of a high performance athlete I guess) and I can attest that they are the the best in the game. I have been to another PT office, and while they were good, Maven is the truth. In my latest stint with the gang, we even discussed that my knee injury probably could have been worse but having such strong hips from our previous worked probably helped me out.
While they’re very knowledgeable, they don’t just treat you from only a clinical point of view; they’re athletes themselves so they know what works for each patient and will make small adjustments based on your [valid] feedback if necessary. On top of that, the conversations that go on there are just pure entertainment and make the exercises that much more bearable.
And while I typically wouldn’t waste my time countering someone else’s bad review (everyone is entitled to their opinion and can have a bad experience), I do have a huge problem with the 1 star review from 2 months ago. As I listed above, with the amount of time I’ve spent at Maven (times 2 – 3 sessions per week), I would like to think I have a much more accurate assessment of their practices. As the reviewer is another PT, I find it almost comical that he tosses out the word unethical so easily. There is NOTHING unethical about how the practice is run and the PTs and aides care about the patient first and foremost. Are they busy — sure — but to say they need a Physical Therapist for 1 – 2 patients is a bit of a stretch. I can’t recall a single time where I watched patients waiting around waiting for instruction or work to be done or even had this experience myself. If I need a Doctor of Physical Therapy to stare at me while I do clam shells beyond the first time I’m doing them, I’ve got more problems than a bum hip. So without belaboring my point any further, I read that negative review and LOLed because it’s sort of like those maniacs who deny climate change. Completely absurd and you’re probably on hallucinogens if you believe them. And then I read it again and giggled some more because it is a wholly inaccurate picture of Maven PT.
So in closing, I cannot thank Jerry, Dave, Anthony, Leo and everyone else I’ve worked with at Maven PT. When I inevitably tweak something else, I already know that I’ll be in good hands.
EDIT: I added a picture to demonstrate my results from Maven. When I first came to them, I had to use my hand to lift my leg just to get out of bed because my hip was that bad.

I went to Maven after having a cervical disk replacement, to regain the strength I lost in my right arm. Not only did they get my arm back to where it was, they made sure that I was working out my entire body properly. I had not been doing enough strength training on my legs and hips, but they made sure that I did. Jerry is fantastic at diagnosing issues. The guys at Maven will make sure you do not leave without working hard enough to ascertain that your whole body is strengthened for the future.

I came to Maven hoping for significant improvement since all the other PT places I’ve been to haven’t been able to get down to what’s the primary problem with my pain. This place is very disorganized and unprofessional. The «gym» is the size of my condo and there are only 2 PT’s and about 2 – 3 aides. First of all, there were at least 7 – 8 patients in the «gym» at one time which is overwhelming, therefore quality of care was HORRIBLE! My therapist would dry needle me every treatment session despite telling him where my pain is and did very little manual work on me. This is probably because he had too many patients which is not ethical at all!!! His student who he didn’t introduce me to or ask for my consent to treat me had no clue what to do when I told her I was having pain with some exercises, never looked for my primary PT, and just wanted me to keep pushing through. My last treatment session, I waited for 15 minutes on the plinth waiting for my PT and when he came I told him, again, where my pain was and was hoping he would assess it, but didn’t. After the needling, I laid on the plinth before one of the aides asked me where my PT was. He was nowhere to be found so she just told me to do an exercise. At this point I’ve been there for 45 minutes and received 10 mins of needling and had done one exercise. I never saw my PT again. I finished with the student who was doing some stretching herself and speaking about personal matters in front of patients which for a student, she should know better. I received some horrendous manual stretching and then they just gave me an ice pack. I was there for 1 hour and a half and received 10mins. of dry needling and did 3 exercises!!! They keep saying they’re going to move to a bigger facility, but there’s still only 2 PT’s! My reason for writing this is because I myself am a PT, but I don’t think they knew that even though I told them. I know how important QUALITY OF CARE is and this place doesn’t have it. I’ve never been so disgusted by how unethical and unprofessional this place is. I just want patients to be aware of what is right and what is wrong. YOU deserve the best treatment. I’m sure most patients don’t know any better which is another reason for this review. My advice, find a place where you have 1 PT to, at max, 2 patients. Good luck.

I injured my knee a few months ago and required surgery to correct it. I’ve been going to Maven PT for about a month and a half to help along the recovery process. After my very first visit I started noticing a measurable improvement in the mobility of my Knee. Dr. David also discovered a slight issue with my natural stance that very likely caused the issue with my knee and has been helping me correct that issue. All in all, I’m very happy with Maven PT and will very likely be taking advantage of their Fitness and Lifestyle Coaching services as well in the near future.

They rock… here is why:
1. They are flexible with their hrs… as late as 720 pm aptmt and half Saturdays
2. Dr Jerry and Dave know their stuff and live the lifestyle they preach
3. Besides PT, they also have a sports performance practice so they have an integrated approach
4. Easy going staff
5. They listen to your issues and seem to genuinely care
6. They know how to deal with insurance
They are helping me recover from a previous herniated disc.

Maven is seriously the only option in Paramus. If you are looking for quality PT and a company that does everything the right way, Maven is the only way to go!
