Lowe’s

This company is not to be trusted. They have charged me for a stove that they will not deliver, even though they gave me a delivery window of 3pm — 6pm. They now claim that the delivery is for tomorrow, when I was told to take off and wait today. Now, we are without a stove. In addition, they have already had me pay for this stove and have my money while I sit without one. The manager Rich was no help at all and insisted that they had nothing to do with the delivery. Please avoid this store for your appliance needs and give home depot your business in the future.

Poor customer service, many rude staffs. When I called the store for a mixed-​up order, they kicked the call back and force between departments, nobody wanted to help. Once when I was mistakenly transferred to some department, the guy who picked up the phone told me it’s the wrong department and asked me to hang up and dial again. As I was driving I asked him whether he could please transfer me to the correct department, to which he answered «No, can’t transfer from here». When I asked his name, he plainly refused to give it to me. To be fair I’ve seen some helpful and courteous staffs in this store, but what always strikes me is how many rude ones there are. I used to make an effort to come to Lowes for «better service», but more and more I seem to be getting poor treatment and frustrating after-​sale service. What a shame.

This store advertises free pipe cutting and threading, yet since they opened the store there has been no such service. After placing multiple calls to corporate and speaking with the store manager, this issue is ongoing. The store is very clearly false advertising. I don’t plan to use this location again, after numerous negative experiences. The Paterson location is much more customer-​friendly.

It’s basically a white a blue themed Home Depot. I stopped by this Lowe’s because it was convenient. Needed a dimmer switch and this happened to be right by where I was. It was pretty easy to find what I was looking for, didn’t really need any service.
Cashier was friendly enough. Any home improvement store is fine as long as it’s convenient.

I went to buy blinds at Lowes and have them installed. They told me that the way it works is that they send someone out to my house to measure and then I come into the store and pick out and pay for the blinds. Sounds pretty simple, so I said sure, and went for it. I paid $ 37 and change to have the guy come out to measure. The guy they sent was professional and seemed competent — I have nothing bad to say about him. As promised, he sent my measurements into the store immediately. I went in and picked out the blinds I wanted. I dealt with this woman Kayla, who unbeknownst to me at the time, is new and has no idea what she’s doing. She told me that she needs to draft up a contract and I could either wait around for about half an hour or she would draft it up and send it to me and I would have to bring in the signed copy and make payment at that time. She said that after I made payment, she would cut the blinds and I could either come in and pick them up or I could pay more and have the installer bring them to me. I asked if I could give her a credit card at that time so that she could start cutting the blinds and have the contract and the blinds ready together. She said no — that’s not the way it works. Kayla then called me the next day and told me I needed to come in to sign the contract. I went through with her again having her send me the contract either by e-​mail or by fax. I finally got her to agree to fax it and that I could fax it back and then call in a credit card. I asked again if I could just give her a credit card number, and she said, «no, not until the contract is signed.» She was going to fax the contract to me the following morning, but it never came. When I spoke with her about the contract, she said that my guaranteed date for the install was January 19, but that it doesn’t always happen like that and that it could be as late as February 2. I told her that would be no good. She explained that this was because one of my blinds was custom fit rather than stock. I told her to change the order to the stock blinds which was the same (we had already discussed in the store the stock blinds and she said that it was worth getting the custom blinds b/​c they were less expensive and would fit better — she never said how much longer they would take to get, even though I had told her my timing issues).
Since Kayla had not gotten back to me, I went into the store where I spoke with Shawna. Shawna told me that Kayla was new and had no idea what she was talking about. It seems I could have paid for the blinds and signed the contract later so she could have started on cutting the blinds. Also, Kayla apparently never changed over the contract from the custom to the stock blinds. Shawna said that she is the only on there with experience, but she was on vacation. Okay, that happens. So, to be nice, she was going to fix the contract and cut the blinds and would have everything ready for me at the same time. She gave me quote and told me that I should not worry that it was not really that high because the $ 37 and change I had paid for the install gets credited towards that price. She said it won’t show in the contract, but they will take it off at the register.
Shawna called me on New Year’s eve and again twice on New Year’s day. On New Year’s eve she called and said that everything would be ready for me to pick up and pay on Monday (which would be January 5). On New Year’s day, though, she said that the blinds were ready and didn’t understand why I didn’t come to pick them up. I said I would be in over the weekend. She called again on January 2 and on January 3. Persistent.
I got to the store and the blinds were ready along with the contract. We had agreed to remove a particular provision in the contract, as I do not consent to an arbitration provision. She agreed to remove it, but removed it in only one place. They didn’t have a marker in the entire store for me to fix it, so I used a pen which was barely writing. Fine. I signed the contract, as it seemed right based upon what she had told me. However, when they rang up the price, it did not deduct the $ 37 and change. No one at customer service knew whether or not they could do that, so they waited and called Shawna. She came up and told me that she had removed it from one of the blinds. In addition to the fact that this ran contrary to what Shawna had previously told me, the customer service people had just prior to that told me that the quotation could not include such things — that this would have to come out at the end. In addition, the place where she told me she supposedly took it off from would not only not have made sense, but the original price she claimed was less than $ 37 and change difference from the price charged. None of this made any sense. After arguing for 5 minutes, I gave up and left. They never even offered me back my $ 37 and change and I have no blinds to show for this fiasco.

Really nice gardening section and I love hanging out in the green house while my boyfriend looks for all his tools and junk!

They wasted a week of our time having someone take door measurements, only to tell us that they couldn’t find any contractors willing to install it in a high rise. There must be about 20,000 people living in high rise buildings in the area, and you’re telling us that none of them have every had Lowes install anything? Really? My admittedly wild and unsubstantiated guess is that they’re employing undocumented contractors who don’t have insurance.
Then the window treatment department never got in touch with us about their measurements, so we had to go there in person to find out what the deal is. The woman in charge was out sick for the last few days. We’re time pressured, so can we please have someone cover for her and take over? Nope, sorry, alien concept.

I’ve been shopping at this store since it opened and overall I give this store a very good rating. Its well stocked and I rarely, if ever, have left without what I needed. While Lowes carries many of the same products Home Depot does, I think the store layout is much better and many of the products it carries are of a higher quality than Home Depot while still being price competitive. I’ve easily spent over $ 20,000 there having self renovated my kitchen, bathroom, a second bath and family room.
The store isn’t easy to find because it’s set back from Route 4 but that in a way is a BIG advantage to store patrons. I’ve not seen the «crazy» crowds and parking issues that I’ve seen at other Lowes and Home Depots at this store.
One last point, like Home Depot they offer Vets a 10% discount which may not seem like much but over time will save you thousands.

I’m a Home Depot guy, so shopping at Lowe’s is never a priority for me. But when I need to pick up emergency items for work, then this is where I go because of proximity.
For those of you using GPS, it’s located behind Miller’s Ale House on Route 4 East.
I really don’t have anything to say about this store other than the fact they have a lot of senior citizens working here whenever I happen to visit. I think that’s very sweet.

Good location, fair price. Nice customer service. no complaints!

Offered me $ 50 gift card for the horrible service I received. I didn’t go to pick it up. Because this is not why I complained.
I went again tonight and it was the same again. Stood in the isle pressing the button over and over nothing. A man with a ladder cut me off and almost ran me over. As the customer I stopped and gave the associate and his large ladder the right if way. As he moved by me he smirked as if to tell me «I won young lady»
Lowes take your $ 50 gift card and shove it.

Just a warning — this is a pretty hard place to find. It’s part of the Bergen Town Center, but it’s located on the waaay side and some GPS programs don’t have a good lock on it.
The store is new, clean, bright and welcoming. They have tons of stuff I don’t need (and most of which I’ve never seen before) but hubby was happy with the selection!
The only downside was the cashier at the checkout line. It was actually the self checkout section, but she waived us over to her little station and said she could check us out. She was surprisingly curt and abrupt, almost to the point of being rude. Not sure why, but I was just glad that we only had two or three items so it was a short (if painful) process.

I paid a quick visit to this Lowe’s on the Wednesday before Thanksgiving after stopping at REI. It’s a quick walk down the hill, and on the way, you can smell the sweetness coming from the Shoprite bakery.
There’s a special parking area for contractors. I didn’t have any direct interaction with customer service so I can’t comment on that, but the selection appeared on par with other home improvement stores.

Let’s face it! It’s a home depot ripoff! Dour customer service and unhelpful sales associates

A fine hardware store. Everything is organized very well and the people working here are great. Make sure to get a Lowes credit card if your a frequent shopper, so you can get 5% off everything!

I normally visit the Orangeburg store since it’s a bit easier to get to for me, but lately I keep finding myself battling the nightmare that is 4 & 17 to get to this place.
This store has opened recently and it’s bright and clean! The staff is extremely helpful and courteous, something I don’t see in other places. The kicker is that they will actually walk with you to get what you’re looking for.
Recently I encountered a problem with something I purchased and their toll free number was useless (only for this product keep in mind). I called the manager of the store and he has been going out of his way to help me, even transferring stock from stores in PA.
