This EMS is considered by many as the«Campmor Annex» and I’m sure that’s fine by them. Because this store is much smaller in size, they have to do more in order to retain business. So what do they excel in? Service. You will receive fantastic service here, if you’re into that. Personally, I like to be left alone when I shop. But if you have questions about this lifestyle and all of the products associated with it, then EMS may be a better fit for you. They aren’t as busy as Campmor and you’ll likely be one of two customers in the store if you’re making a weeknight visit. Check it out…

The staff at EMS keeps me coming back. Eveyone there is really ‘into’ the lifestyle. You get great customer service and they take their time with you. For a while I tried staying loyal to the more local sporting goods stores, especially one that is less than 100 feet away. But coming here is a different expeiance. The store layout is a lot better as is their inventory. I love EMS branded clothing and always buy my hiking shoes from them. Paramus all of a sudden has been plaqued with sporting goods stores and they are all within 5 miles of eachother. Some are less than 50 feet away. If I had to choose 2 to stay… I would go with EMS and REI.(Sorry Ramsey… your #3)

Normally I wouldn’t bother writing a review for EMS. However this EMS sits basically in the same parking lot as Campmor and like many Campmor shoppers we had to come over and check things out. It was the shoeman who gets these 5 stars. He took a long time to walk us through the differences in hiking boots, made sure they fit and gave his very honest opinions on each brand. I really didn’t expect this level of knowledge or customer service here. So thank you shoeman, your level of service helped us to buy even more stuff to help us enjoy the great outdoors. Our hike next week may very well be dedicated to you.

I ended up here one night because Campmoor closed 2 hours earlier than posted on their website – and damn am I glad I did. Needed to get hiking boots for an upcoming trip – the guy who helped me was extremely knowledgeable and helpful. After purchasing the boots, several of the staff talked to myself and friends and actually helped my friend pick out some climbing gear. Overall a great experience, and I’d definitely shop there again.

Came to EMS when we ventured to Campmor and they closed 2 hours earlier then their listed store hours on the website. In comparison the selection was a lot smaller, but the sales people were really friendly, i ended up buying a new pair of climbing shoes and was actually told not to by a new harness here because there price was higher then what it should cost. That kind of surprised me but its that type of honesty with a customer that will keep people coming back.
