Not bad. When I was a little baby, I used to cry when they cut my hair, but they were friendly in the end and I was happy when the haircut was all over. Another thing I’d like to point out is clean up all the hair on the floor! Sometimes the employees do not even care to clean up the hairs on the floor! Have a better cleaning service!

My son does not like having his head touched, but he cooperated and came out with a great cut. Professional and great place for anyone with young children.

Except for one hair cutter there the rest aren’t very friendly or very good with kids. Tried most of the hair cutters there but couldn’t find one who I liked. Stopped going there finally. Looking for a better place in bergen county but difficult to find.

The place is so dirty. The front desk lady should sweep the floor, it looks like the place hasn’t been swept in days with hairs all over. The only reason I go is for Brittney and if she leaves I’m leaving too. Hello Mr. Owner/​stop being a cheapo and renovate your place or hire some help to clean. They also don’t take credit cards– shadyyyyyyy.

For our children’s first haircuts and beyond… and as they have grown older. We found our favorite stylists over the years… some of gone, some remain… like Brittany and Sandra. I even come here as an adult… they have a mother/​daughter special.

My daughter has difficult hair to say the least. It’s long and beautiful but doesn’t get the upkeep it requires. We have opted to keep it long, and do our best, but need the support of the kind pros at David Allen. Our stylist, Brittney, always handles the task of getting the knots and birds nests out, with gentle kindness. The atmosphere is fine, and the staff has always been warm to us and all customers that I have observed.

This place is lame. The waiting «area» has an old train table without anything with which to play with. The front-​desk lady is rude. And the place is DIRTY. The shelves look dusty and so did the floor. My daughter got her hair cut here twice– the first time we went the hair-​dresser was huffing and puffing because she had to detangle my daughter’s hair. Uhm, yea lady, she was at school all day running around– you want me to brush it out in the car? The cut was whatever. Supercuts could’ve done it. But my daughter liked the atmosphere so when it was time for a trim we went back. Second time the lady (don’t remember her name– she was a bump on a log) didnt listen to me about how I wanted her bangs cut. I showed her a picture of how I wanted her bangs cut (full, long, and straight) and she cut them like those Fly Girls in the 90s from In Living Color– thin and piecey. They were clipped or geled down each day after that.

Worst haircut experience EVER! My son has had a few haircuts in his life, but this has been by-​far the worst haircut we’ve ever had — and it’s also been his most expensive haircut, ironically. I wish I had read the reviews before going here…
The hairdresser (Sandra) was rude and didn’t really listen to anything I said, nor did she care for my input, the place was dingy and did not serve to distract my child, the DVD player wasn’t working. It was just a horrid experience. To top it all off, the place doesn’t accept credit cards. Ridiculous. Please do yourself a favor and go somewhere else. My son wasn’t even moving and ppl keep asking me if we gave him a haircut at home… yes, it’s THAT bad. The hairdresser said he has a cowlick… never been told that one before, he definitely doesn’t have a cowlick. She needs to find a new job. And stop messing with kids hair.

We took our Son here for his first hair cut. I had walked by the salon before and knew they had cars as seats and figured he would enjoy them. First of all, the place was dirty. It seemed like no one had swept all day long. The stylist was nice but left a couple of strands around his ears which I then had to recut at home. To make things worse, they charge $ 24 for a child’s hair cut and don’t take credit cards. How does a business in 2014 not accept credit cards? We will not return to this salon.

I take my kids here all the time for haircuts and they generally do a good job. I really like Jesse and Phil, both are great stylists and very patient with kids. I think where they could be better is the service aspect. It’s a little disorganized whereas sometimes clients are forced to wait quite a bit (not the greatest situation when it comes to kids). Also with children it would be good if they were a little more accommodating with appointment times. They don’t take any credit cards, only check or cash which is an inconvenience for the customers as well.

We been taking our kids here since my sons first haircut, Three yrs ago and today will be the last time. Starting with cleanliness of the place, which is filthy. Most of the toys are broken or missing. Each time we go it looks like they care less and less about the place. The women gives an average haircut which has steadily been getting worse. They have very little ability to lend suggestions or styles that best suit different hair types. Buyer beware.

My son got a great haircut. BRITTANY was sweet and fast. She listened and asked many times what I wanted. She also engaged with my 3 year old. He was asked what he wanted to watch on DVD.
As far as the price, it’s fair. Every child’s salon I’ve ever used was around $ 25/​cut.
Yes it’s true the place could use a face lift and toy trains for the track but at the end hes not there to play, he’s there for a haircut. Regardless, the balloon at the end made up for it especially since we had an appointment and did not have to wait. We will be back. See ya soon Brit.

So I took my 2 year old here for her first haircut.
I think she left traumatized. And so did my wallet.
Look — for whatever reason in my head, I had an expectation that kid’s salon that charges $ 25/​haircut (plus tip) would be able to engage my child, entertain her someway, maybe have some Dora videos or something… basically keep her calm during her first haircut.
It didn’t happen. The TV/​DVD player was busted (my wife ran out to the car and got our own DVD player). The stylist didn’t listen to us (ORIGINALLY) when we said she never had a haircut, and didn’t offer suggestions on my kid’s hair (kid’s hair is knotty, and we asked what could be done… no suggestions) .
And I held my crying/​screaming kid while her hair was cut.
They have toys there… my kid eventually warmed up after the cut… but the train tracks/​platform doesn’t have any trains to play with. Also the price is different than what’s advertised on their website (by $ 2)
Look, at the end of the day, I think I’m harsher here because they advertise the place as a place for kids. But it didn’t work for me and my kid, and I’ll probably take her down the block to the local hair stylist for ½ the price. I can accept holding a screaming kid for less money and the fact I don’t have to make a special trip to the mall to get my kid’s hair done.
