My go-​to mechanic reccomended this place when the transmission on my old car went. My beloved Explorer went to Lee’s for a complete transmission rebuild and came back «fixed.»
Now believe me when I tell you that I am NO car expert. I am, in fact, on the opposite side of the spectrum. I decipher cars by colors and shapes («The one that looks like a toaster or the one that looks like an Easter egg?») and car problems by the lights that come on on the dash. But I could TELL something was not right when I got the car back.
SO after footing a $ 2,000 bill the newly rebuilt transmission died after a week while on a trip up to Massachusetts on I-​95 while I was in the left lane. I incurred a $ 400 tow bill from Warwick, RI back to NJ. Soooo not ideal.
I got the excuse that a part was faulty. Fine, we’ll give ‘em the benefit of the doubt, especially because they fixed it at no additional cost. But giving me the car back even when it so obviously was not 100% ok? Not cool, Lee. Not cool.
