Paramount Meadows Nursing Center

They are constantly posting ads for LVNs but they never hire anyone… Me and 4 other colleagues applied and they called no one. Maybe they are looking for certain candidates idk.

They have the weakest staff I’ve seen in a facility. They are lazy and ultimately do the very least possible. Somehow they’ve swindled the state into only awarding them with a contract for dialysis… hence they are the only game in town. Consider it a death sentence if they put you or any of your loved ones here. It is a BATTLE and a FRONT they put on to get your state monies. It is a state of emergency. This place should be closed.

I felt the need to leave a review for my own conscience to hopefully protect and save others thinking of leaving their loved ones in the hands of the staff at this horrifying facility. My mother has been hospitalized for the past two and a half years — kidney failure and respiratory failure to the point where she is stable but we cannot take care of her on our own — and was transferred to Paramount 5 days ago to our dismay. After visiting her multiple times in those few days, I never left feeling that she was safe and comfortable.
My mother was left untreated, like many other family members according to reviews here, and would lie for hours waiting desperately for someone to come help her. Even though she was in a room directly next to the nurses station, and would yell for help after waiting with her call light on for an hour, no one would come. It got to the point where she looked at me and said, «I’m not going to survive here.» I tried speaking with the nurses, LVNs, CNAs, and their supervisors multiple times, hoping to get a message across. NOT ONCE did a doctor ever examine her over her stay. Every drive home I felt uneasy and unsettled, afraid I would get a phone call saying she had to be taken to the ER due to lack of care.
Unfortunately, this happened just yesterday.
I get the phone asking if my mother has a DNR order. She needed to be transferred to the nearest ER via ambulance. Upon arriving at the ER the staff at Paramount stated she would be sent to, she was never there. When I called Paramount demanding where she was, they had no idea. Two hours later, we found her at a different hospital in septic shock.
The only saving grace I can give the staff at Paramount is that they called 911 when they did. They are lucky enough to evade the guilt and consequences of letting a patient die due to neglect.
If you care about your loved ones, do your research and do NOT let their lives depend on this facility.

As for Paramount Meadows, what a difference! The mood is better, the appearance is better, the staff is friendly and helpful and genuine. My dad notices the difference in quality of care. So far so good we are pleased! I will not hesitate to update my review. Until then, keep on loving your loved ones :)

I felt compelled to review Paramount Meadows after my uncle’s recent stay there. I mean everyone reviews restaurants, nightclubs, coffee shops, etc., but often times we don’t think of places like this that deal with the real issues we face in life. My uncle spent several weeks here last month, and I have to say that it really was a great place for him, primarily due to the caring and sympathetic staff. The staff really helped him stay positive during his rehabilitation, ensuring that he not only made progress towards regaining his health/​strength, but that he was comfortable as well. The facility is very clean and soothing in a way that is hard to describe (considering the emotional stress we were all under). Thank you everyone at Paramount Meadows for helping my uncle and our family through this challenging time.

I recently toured this facility. I found it to be very clean and the staff was very attentive. When I first walked in, I was greeted by a very nice, pleasant employee. I had an appointment, so when I informed the receptionist of this, she immediately paged the person I was there to see. There were plenty of staff for a facility of this type and I could tell that they really enjoyed working there and that they were caring people. I had the opportunity to visit with several patients. They all appeared well cared for, and happy. I would have no reservations in recommending this facility to anyone looking for a nursing care facility in the Paramount, CA area.

My mother has dementia and is in this facility. Even though the staff
is very nice, my mother lies wet in bed for several hours. They are
very short staffed and if meals are being served and if the patient
needs care, the patient has to wait at least two hours to be attended
to because the staff is busy with meals. Many of the CNA’s and LVN’s
are not always truthful. They will lie sometimes to cover their
«backsides». There are certain CNA ‘s whos performances are very poor.
There was a time when my mother’s bed linens were not changed and
feces were on the sheets. I removed the sheets myself and placed them
on the floor, and when a CNA walked by she said «Oh, please don’t do
that because I will get in trouble». On the days when my mother has a
shower and her hair is shampooed, she is placed back in bed with wet
hair and the pillow is wet. The CNA’s who I think do their jobs well
are Magda and there is one other whose name I can’t recall. The LVN,
David, is tops. I really like him because he does his job very well.

As a patient, I absolutely did NOT enjoy being here. I’ve bee through a lot. I had brain surgery and in the midst of recovering from that I was diagnosed with obstructive sleep apnea and had three seizures. I’ve been to rehabilitation homes before and had been treated so much better.
The staff was kind, the nurses were sweet and seemed to have genuine care. I LOVED ALL of the Respiratory Therapist. But here are the CONS in the form of a list:
1. I guess there no catheters allowed so all immobile patients were to wear a diaper.
I’m 26 years old, I had never worn a diaper at ANY other facility and to be OBLIGATED to wear one here was not acceptable to me. If they claim to have a worthy reason for that, than explaining it to me OR my personal caregiver (Mom) would have been the proper and professional way to handle that. But no such thing happened, so I just believe that they’re a bunch of dumb heads.
2. They always seemed to be under staffed
When I just took a dump in the diaper that you force me to wear, I don’t wanna be told I can’t be changed until «she» (the designated nurse) gets over here from the other side
OR
When my trach falls out, I can hardly breathe and I’m in a medical facility, it is NOT acceptable for my mother to have to hold my trach in place while we wait for an RT to become available because the one on duty was with another patient at the time! So that is to say my means of breathing stopped working and it is my mothers responsibility to hold it in place, making sure I could breathe, simply because you’re understaffed?! Bullschnitzel! I think that it is completely unacceptable that she, my not medically trained mother, was obligated to find a way to save mmy life simply because the facility I was staying in was under staffed. Further more, it is ridiculous that Paramount Meadows thought this was an acceptable alternative. I was completely appalled at this. My trach was how I receieved oxygen, it was my breath and when it fell out I had to wait until the RT was available to perform an emergency procedure and enter a NEW trach into my neck while bottles of oxygen sit in the room in case of a emergency. In case of emergency?! IN CASE OF EMERGENCY?! I COULDN’T BREATHE, I WASN’T GETTING ANY OXYGEN — ISN’T THAT A FRIGGIN EMERGENCY??? Ugh!
3. It is a mystery to this very day how my pick line fell out. How does this happen? As I’ve mentioned, I’ve been in rehabilitation homes before and I’ve also had a pick line put into my arm multiple times before, it has never fallen out. What makes this situation notable is that a nurse and I discussed that it had probably fallen out but when my mother asked about the incident they told her that I must’ve pulled it out. So who’s lying here?
Let’s revisit #2, I almost DIED. I remember the guy who put another trach in my neck and of course I couldn’t speak yet, so I mouthed «Thank You» to him. To this day I call him my life saver. I can’t believe I came so close…
Again, they have some quality and caring staff members. They equally have staff members that I think need to exit the medical field, or at least get into something that is much less emergent. I don’t recommend this place to anyone based off of my experience. Maybe it has changed.
