I don’t care what others say, La Comida is the best! Their house dressing is wonderful! We now live in Oregon and let me tell you sometimes we get a craving for good old La Comida and there is nothing that compares. Love their salsa, chicken and pork tostada and their soft tacos.

Yay! A staple in Paradise. I agree with another reviewer that this is not«authentic» Mexican food but it’s satisfying and filling. I used to go there in high school, so the food is comforting to me because it brings back good memories. The super burrito is tasty and a staple there. It comes with enchilada sauce and a huge dollop of sour cream. Chips and salsa are free. The atmosphere is good and the location is great being right off of Skyway, a main street in Paradise, CA. Another good thing about La Comida is there is no television and I think that there may be no music. This may be why the atmosphere is peaceful and soothing. At the back of the restaurant, they have local free papers that a person can pick up and read during lunch or dinner. Good place to go and yummy comfort food with a decent price.

A friend of mine wanted to take me to the worst Mexican food in Northern Calfornia. So we went to La Comida for lunch. It was as horrible as it’s reputaton. Arguably the worst«mexican» food i have ever eaten. Four bites and i couldn’t stomach the canned refried beans crappy cheese or the horrible«beef» in my Verde Burrito. If you took hot dog food and rolled it into a tortilla you would have just about the same effect. Avoid as if your life depended on it.

Absolutely the WORST«mexican» food I’ve ever had. Including fast food restaurants. Ate here last night. Had the chicken enchilada plate. What a disappointment. Took one bite of the enchilada, one bite of beans and one of rice. All of it sucked. Salsa was okay. Chips from a bag. Will never go here again. Total waste of money. Service very lacking as well. Guess it might be okay for little kids, but anyone with taste buds will hate it. Wish there was a «no star» selection. Worse than even Eek!

For some reason the Chico La Comida is way better. The food was better the employees were friendlier and the service was faster.

If you only have $ 5, you can come in & will definitely leave full. Absolutely not«authentic» Mexican food. But, if you keep that in mind, the food is always fresh, cheap & tastes pretty good to me! :) The super burrito is so good… my absolute favorite. For lighter fare… get the chicken tostada. I usually just use the salsa as dressing, but I know people that insist on the getting the house dressing. Just don’t come in expecting a meal that transports you to Mexico… you’ll like it!

GNARLY!!! Let me pretense this review with the fact I am from San Diego, where Mexican Food is incredible. It is very good to be living so close to so many mexicans. I was going to give them 2 stars, because the chips and salsa were pretty good, but man cannot live on salsa alone and the wording for 2 stars is «I’ve experienced better» like the food is OK. I would really never eat here again. Go to «Amigos De Acupolco», literally right next door and a hole in the wall. My cousin said they were the only good Mexican food in town. He also said they are not always open. I was there visiting family with my brother and we drove into town and this was the first Mex food place we found, unfortunately we did not see the place next door. Must have been the hour and a half drive from Sac.

Greasey and cheap food here. Not what it use to be, but the salsa is still good. None-the-less a must visit for Paradise.

The only thing that changes in Paradise over the years are the signs on the store fronts. Nothing else. Every non-franchise restaurant eventually meets its demise, the sign out front soon replaced by another business. The rare exception is La Comida. With the food being on the bottom of the quality and authenticity scale, one may wonder how this place sticks around. While I don’t claim to have the answer to this, I will say that I used to love this place when I was in high school, and my mom said that she frequented this place when she was in high school. Holy moly this place is old(sorry mom)!! Why wouldn’t I eat here again? Because I moved out of Paradise and now know what good food tastes like. Moral of the story: if you’re visiting from out of town then DON’T go here. If you’ve lived in Paradise your whole life… dig in!

I have lived here 30 years and rarely go there. It is not my idea of good Mexican food. I would much rather go to Taco Bell to tell you the truth. It is the most Americanized form of Mexican food I have had anywhere around here. Sorry locals who love it, but it’s just not at all like the real thing!

I have only had the chips and salsa but they were fresh and yummy. I will have to try their food next time I am in town.
