History

Established in 2002.

Montessori Academy was established by a group of Montessori parents and Montessori trained staff in 2002. Led by Juli Newman and Krista Cross, Montessori Academy’s charter was applied for on February 28^th 2002. The charter was unanimously approved on June 10^th, 2002. Ms. Newman and Ms. Cross signed the charter on June 17^th 2002. The first day of school was August 19^th, 2002.

The Chinese symbol for good fortune was chosen as the Montessori Academy logo, which is an adaptation of the Chinese Five Fortunes Surrounding Longevity symbol. These five good fortunes are: Health, Wealth, Longevity, Love, and Virtue.

Juli Newman is the Executive Director and Principal, of Montessori Academy and was one of the school’s principal founders. Montessori Academy is a K-​8 public charter school with a tuition based pre-​school and extended day programs.

Business Owner

Juli Newman is the Executive Director and Principal, of Montessori Academy and was one of the school’s principal founders. Montessori Academy is a K-​8 public charter school with a tuition based pre-​school and extended day programs.

She has a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology and Sociology from the University of Utah and a Masters of Arts in Education, Supervision and Administration from the University of Phoenix. She is currently in a Doctoral program for Educational Leadership. In addition, she has attended over 40 trainings ranging from, Special Education Law to Leadership in Technology. She has also attended the Center for Montessori Teacher Education and holds a certification in Montessori School Administration.

She is proud of the environment Montessori Academy has created for the students and their families. The dedication to Excellence is abundant throughout the campus. She is also proud of our student’s outstanding results on the State’s standardized tests.
