Specialties

The Center on Central is Your Home for Creative Arts — with Young Rembrandts® art classes, Studio 4 the Young Artist, music groups, individual music lessons, creative theater, bead making and a pottery studio all featured. We also run a summer day camp!

In addition, The Center on Central features programs such as Zumba® fitness classes, Jin Shin Jyutsu® energy restoration, and foreign language enrichment with ¡Ven a Jugar! We welcome suggestions from the community and inquiries from qualified instructors for future potential offerings. On weekend afternoons, you can host a child’s birthday party or other private gathering at The Center on Central.

The Center on Central is also home to Creative Arts Therapies — both for individuals and in social skills groups. We feature Music Therapy, Art Therapy and Dance/​Movement Therapy, and in the summer, our acclaimed CAMP 24 Extended School Year Creative Arts Day Camp runs weekly, Mondays-​Fridays.

Meet the Business Owner

Katie O.

Business Owner

The Center’s Program Manager is Katie Opher. Katie has her Master’s degree in Creative Arts Therapy from Hahnemann University (now part of Drexel University, where she serves as an adjunct faculty member) and has been in practice for 20 years. She is an expert in the field of child development and Creative Arts Therapies. Katie founded a non-​profit in 2000, called Creative Arts for Everyone ® and has administered a grant from the Department of Human Services in the City of Philadelphia for 15 years, managing and supervising a groundbreaking program which provides Creative Arts Therapy services in the supervised visitation program in the Family Court of Philadelphia. Katie has also provided music integrated with social skills development to individuals and groups, in private practice and also in local schools.

Katie and her husband Ron are also co-​owners of the Young Rembrandts art program which serves most of Chester County and parts of Delaware and Montgomery Counties.
