I love Subway. I love that I get to put together a sandwich with pretty much any combination of things that I want, from light and healthy to heavy and oily. I’ve been leaning toward the light and healthy lately, which really lets the freshness of the veggies shine through. This particular Subway is my favorite. The manager is fantastic, and although there is a pretty decent turnover rate for the other employees, they’re typically friendly and attentive. The ingredients here are always fresh. Never gotten stale bread, or wilted veggies, or bad meat. This location has been here for many years. It has its share of regulars, and for good reason.

Every time I turn around, there’s another Subway in Arlington. Bacteria doesn’t mutliply faster — except for Starbucks. The secret to a good sandwich at Subway, I’ve discovered, is to pay more for their more expensive sandwiches. Ya get what ya pay for … although it’s nice to be able to buy a cheapie 6″ sandwich, sometimes, too. I also appreciate their low fat sandwiches — but the low fat figures they advertise are for cheese-less sandwiches, and who wants a sandwich without cheese?
