Dr. James E. McCormick graduated «summa cum laude» from the University of British Columbia Dental School in 1971 and was granted membership into the honorary dental society, Omicron Kappa Upsilon. Following five years as a general dentist and a Fellowship in the Academy of General Dentistry, he returned to graduate school at Loyola University School of Dentistry. In 1979, Dr. McCormick graduated «magna cum laude» with a Master of Science degree in Oral Biology and a specialty certificate in Endodontics.

Dr. McCormick went to Vancouver for a year of clinical endodontics and studied for a Fellowship of the Royal College of Dentists (Canada) in Endodontics. He returned to Chicago in 1980 and established this clinical endodontic practice in Palos Heights, Illinois. He has lectured to dental groups in the United States and Canada in addition to being a member of the Edgar D Coolidge Endodontic Study Club in Chicago.
