History

Established in 1980.

John Roberts and Susan Nightingale are the founders, creators and nurturers of Watercourse Way. Our love of nature, hot baths, sauna & steam and our experiences at Tassajara Zen Buddhist Retreat were the inspiration for Watercourse Way. Our intention was to create a beautiful oasis in the middle of Palo Alto for relaxation and contemplation in this busy world. Massage was a natural addition to combine with the hot tub experience. Then facials, and spa treatments followed.

John’s background is design and building and Susan’s background is business. We have found some incredible craftsmen along this journey to help actualize our vision. And most importantly we feel that the commitment and care from each and every therapist, front desk receptionist and maintenance person who has worked with us has contributed to all that Watercourse has become. We are exceptionally grateful for all of our loyal and wonderful clients throughout the years.
