We lived here for 5 years and it was a wonderful time, the location couldn’t be more central, and the rent is very fair for being right on University with all the restaurants and shops. There are hardly any residential addresses west of Cowper St. so this place is special. What made the building even more special was James the landlord, who couldn’t be nicer, and always willing to help, a true gentleman. The rooms are on the small side, but it’s a great place to get started in the Valley, I thought I was only going to stay for a short while but ended up staying 5 years, before we final bought a home, a testimony to how much we enjoyed living here.

I lived in President Hotel for a year and half. Moved out because I got married and bought a house. Really miss the time lived there. James, the manager runs this building as his own family. Everyday, the flower in the lobby is fresh. Each year, the «family» will have a James’ sponsed Christimas party. I went back there for the Christmas parties for two years after I moved out. I miss there so much. It totally worth the money.

I don’t live here any more and haven’t for about 6 months but the longer I’m away the more I appreciate this place. Sure, the studio was tiny but the location and everything else was awesome! Looking back I would definitely live here again and am glad I had the chance to live here for 3 years.

But I visited, saw the units, talked to James the Manager, etc.
Beautiful place and the Manager seems really nice, fair and responsible.

I lived here for about 8 months, it is an incredible location, beautifully renovated, I had a really cute black and white checkers tile bathroom with mysterious bottle opener and corkscrew on the bathroom door… don’t know why but I’ll be damned if it wasn’t handy. James Whitman, the manager, was great and the rent is Month to Month is you want so its really convenient, I wouldn’t have moved out if I didn’t decide to go back to school.

Oh yes, El Presidente! I can’t believe Larry C. hasn’t reviewed this yet! 5 stars, big time! The President is a great place to live, lovely building from the 20’s located right on University Avenue in downtown PA. It has the coolest elevator in town, interesting neighbors, great rates, and most of all James Whitman, the manager is just too cool :)
Highly recommended!
