Phillip T. Fletcher, DDS

Dr. Fletcher is the best. Not only is his office totally teched out, but he is a decent, skilled doctor. I referred both of my parents here and they love him too.

I am a former patient. Because I changed my dental insurance, I left here.
Basically, Dr. Fletcher was very friendly and nice. I regularly had my teeth cleaned, although a cleaning person was not him (the cleaning tech was also friendly).
One thing frustrating was once I had to pay first, and then get reimbursed. Because delta dental is crappy, it was very hard to track those.

UPDATE: Dr. Fletcher called me, said he stands behind his work, and refunded the money for the failed crown. Thank you!
OLD REVIEW: Briefly, the $ 1000 crown Dr. Fletcher installed cracked 4 years later.
I do not think this was a freak accident. The temporary crown Dr. Fletcher installed fell out 3 days later. After the permanent crown was installed, it was quite difficult to floss around it. Four years later, a little piece of the crown fell off randomly one day. I no longer live in CA, but the dentist I visited told me the whole thing needs to be replaced. According to her, these things are supposed to last a long time. On the plus side, I can now floss easily.

Dr Fletcher and his team are the kindest, most wonderful dentistry team i have visited. Recommended by my friend. Best recommendation ever. My husband and six year old daughter and i all go there. He explains everything in a way that makes sense, he is friendly, and he is thoughtful and smart about prevention and treatment. For a cleaning, i always ask for dany — she is the best!

I’ve been going to Dr. Fletcher for about 10 years now and continue to see him even though he’s not in my insurance network anymore. Yes, he is that great!
He is a very warm and engaging individual with a good sense of humor as it really helps to put you at ease. He has all current dental technical equipment, a nice office environment, and easy parking on the street.
He works with integrity and replaced a crown completely free of charge that broke several years after install.

I can’t say enough good things about Dr. Phillip Fletcher. His practice is in Palo Alto and he has been amazing with my special needs 3 year old as well as my formerly dental-​phobic 11 year old. As a father of 4 kiddos himself (he has pictures on the walls), he is excellent with children and works wonders to ease adults as well. He also did the most thorough oral cancer exam I’ve ever had as part of his new patient protocol. His technology is state of the art, and you don’t wind up paying extra for it.
His staff is also easy to work with and his dental hygienist my daughter actually asked for by name the next time around. His whole team makes every effort to make every visit as easy and pain-​free a process as possible. In fact he told me he rarely needs to give kids shots of Novocain as their cavities rarely run deep enough to bother. He is all about making the experience as pain-​free as possible. That takes away the number 1 fear for so many kids of the dreaded needle. Also you can actually make an appointment request online and someone will call you back to schedule. That’s perfect for tired mom’s like me who often don’t think about things like making appointments for myself until after my kids are down. :)

I’m a former patient of Dr Fletcher’s and at the time of service, I found him to be all the things many other reviewers have shared — warming chair side manner, gracious and transparent about treatment options.
One of my concerns in hindsight is whether it may have been to turn a profit when he recommended a below-​the-​gum cleaning where if I remember means patients have to be under sedation. I appreciate he may noticed plaque build up but to immediately suggest that I may suffer from periodontal disease without the cleaning, that literally sent me running for the hills. I guess more than anything because it was presented as my only option. (I’ve since learned not the case) This was 2012.
I spent these next 2 years flossing regularly and investing in an electronic Sonic toothbrush.
Fast forward to 2014 when I got back in touch with them… Turns out I had a remaining balance which I unfortunately didn’t realize since I had moved in 2012 and hadn’t updated my address. In any event, I paid it and thought I should look into how I’d been doing with a follow up appointment.
No one returned my calls or my emails after I submitted my payment and I had also spoke to a gentleman on the phone. Perhaps they were miffed about my past due balance and were nice until they got it, which is fine. I’ve since found a new dentist who let me know to my delight that I have no cavities and not even close to periodontal disease at all, which is a great feeling.
In closing, I did like Dr Fletcher very much and would have returned as a patient — most likely looking to proceed with a deep cleaning below the gums now if he suggested it again. But fortunately destiny intervened with the silence from his customer service and I happily found a new dentist that I don’t have to wonder about motives in terms of costly cleanings.

Really easy experience and with everything being digital it was very enjoyable to follow along.

Good dentist but stopped taking Delta Dental insurance.

I have had wonderful service at Dr. Fletcher’s office. The staff is always very accommodating and helpful. Dr. Fletcher is a great dentist who spends time evaluating and explaining services needed in detail.

What a great dentist! Let’s start with the 7:30 am appointment. WOW! LOVE THAT! I’m a dedicated employee and I like to be at work on time so this is awesome!
Dr. Fletcher was patient and kind through my whole exam and didn’t make me feel bad for not flossing twice a day like most dentists. OMGWTFBBQ! YOU MUST FLOSS TWICE A DAY! He listened, he showed me pictures, he drew on them with mouse skills I have yet to attain even after 14 years in IT. He examined each and every tooth and then explained my options and what he’d like to do with no pressure. I greatly appreciated that!
Elvis, the poor guy, was so patient with me while taking X-​rays and I really appreciated that he was gentle and had a great attitude (unlike myself at 7:30 am on a Monday after a weekend in Vegas). I owe him one for sure.
A few days later I went (again at 7:30) for a cleaning and the hygienist was awesome, too. She tried to make me as comfortable as she could but with no caffeine, I’m never the most pleasant person to be around. (do you see the theme here, people? I HATE MORNINGS)
All in all, they were quick, professional, caring, and just generally awesome. I finally found a dentist that I will actually return to on a consistent basis! SCORE!

Dr. Fletcher is a great dentist. I have had some pretty crappy dentists before him that really caused pain! Not this guy or his super awesome, helpful, and friendly staff. I’m glad we are close in age because that means I’ll never have to change dentists!
I also want to mention that Barbara has been doing my cleanings for a good 5 years now. She is extremely friendly and always ensures I’m comfortable. I also love looking at the pictures of her beautiful golden pups and out the window when she brings him to work and he hangs out outside.

The guy is just friendly, cares, and really knows his stuff. On top of that, they have a great high-​tech office & experience — it was cool!

— All the pics are digital, with cool cameras and flat screens — you get to see everything in real time
— They use a pointer and draw and highlight specific areas — very illustrative
My family just moved here and are stoked — we got a great dentist!

Dr. Fletcher rocks…
I had to get three cavities fixed today… I got there at 7:30am and was home by 8:20. I felt no pain, he took pictures to show me before and after shots… and I didn’t need any numbing. I have been going to Dr. Fletcher for the past two years, I have lived, in LA, Chicago, Charleston, Louisville and I have never enjoyed going to the dentist until now.

Dr. Fletcher continues to be an awesome dentist. I went in for a 3 hour procedure today (ill spare the details) and was watching sportscenter on the TV right above my head the entire time. He and Elvis (his Dental Assistant, not the deceased singer) make a great team, and they really made me feel comfortable despite the astounding amount of work that I was having done. Seriously if you hate and/​or are afraid of dental work, Dr. Fletcher is the man to see.

In all honesty, he’s straight and to the point. He educates you on what’s going on with your teeth and is understanding that most people don’t like to go to the dentist in general. He’s good at relaxing people. Good sense of humor and I didn’t get the impression that he was just looking to make money off my teeth.
He fixed a bad filling some other dentist did and was even trying to not bad mouth a «fellow dentist». That says something about his character.
Finally, the staff in the office are nice as well and take care of everything.

To the person who said to think twice about chosing a dentist that is pro prop 8… There’s no need… I chose my dentist based on their competency and their kindness not wether I agree with thier political view, gender, race, etc. What a person wants to believe in the political world I could care less! I like dr. phil… he does good job, and is understanding… in my opinion that’s all that counts.

Yes, cute (and married) with three adorable kids (no, I haven’t been to his house; they’re in photos). Oh – and take a look at Elvis, his assistant – what a heartthrob, reminds me a little of that hunky «Tony» on «24.»
I’m betting that uou probably wanna know if Dr. Phil is a good dentist. He sure is! OK, I’ll have a go at that… Technically superb, a great chairside manner (let’s you know what he’s doing, listens to you!). Office can be a little busy – but heck, ya go for the dentist, and the dentist is a pro! The usual Palo Alto prices, although you get a discount (10%, I think) if you use a check to pay.

After my former dentist left this office, I was inconveniently shuffled around until Dr. Fletcher came along. Not only is he friendly and young, but he’s great at what he does. Very very professional and easy to talk to. Once he even offered me some sugary baked goods after an appointment (naughty)! It certainly helps that he’s cute, too. But sorry ladies, he’s married!
