Manager
Chef Jarvis Yuan is a Bay Area native who was raised in a restaurant environment his entire life. Born in San Francisco and raised in the small town of Los Altos, Jarvis grew up in the family restaurant called Hunan Home’s where he had the privileged to eat some of the best Chinese food in the Bay Area. Jarvis grew up cooking for his little sister Jennifer since the age of 10, but little did he know, that he was going to be cooking as his profession. He graduated Mountain View High School without knowing what the future had in store for him. He graduated CCA in 2006 and started from the bottom of the food chain. He became the Kitchen Manager at Straits Restaurant SF at the age of 23 and the opening Executive Chef of Starfish Laguna Beach at 25. Jarvis returned to the Bay Area in 2013 to become the Executive Chef of Sino Restaurant+Lounge. He is now the proud chef and co-creator of Mandarin Roots Restaurant+Lounge of Palo Alto.
