Dr. Powar has been my OBGYN for many years and delivered my son 18 years ago. He has a calm nature and is an expert in his field. I recommend Dr. Powar 100%.

I am holding my baby in my arms today because of Dr.Powar. I went to him after 3 m/c’s that included a 16wk loss. He did thorough testing and advised me to include immune treatment in my protocol. With a combination of Dr. Powar’s & immune protocols I successfully carried my baby to term and delivered normally at 39w3d. I was paranoid throughout the pregnancy but Dr. Powar helped ease my fears with his calmness and knowledge. He was able to instill positivity and confidence in me despite my traumatic experience by being proactive and attentive to details. He saw me every 2 wks because I was high risk and used to answer my questions even before I could ask them. I have been to 3 other OBs prior to him but never felt comfortable and protected with anyone else. Dr. Powar is simply phenomenal… absolutely loved the entire experience — office visits, his staff, delivery. Very grateful to him and his team!

I am distressed as well. We have been in physical therapy and occupational therapy for my son’s injury. I don’t appreciate an email from Unilocal indicating the threat of legal action based on this one star review which is based on the facts of our experience.

Dr. Powar does not know how to listen. He missed diagnosis, gave me wrong medication twice because he did not get to the root of the problem. He have me no options, just told me what will happen and did not monitor me even though he put me on meds when he should. I don’t get how come no one else does not have bad experience with him. He is not current when it comes to research. By the way I went to him for infertility treatment. Thank god I went to get a second opinion. I am so happy with the other doctor: I am hopeful, I have a plan and for the first time I feel great.

Dr. Powar is ah-​mazing! 10+ stars from me and my husband. He is calm, cool and collected all the time, everything you want in an OB. He was right on target with everything, we had the easiest delivery. His staff is friendly, nice and helpful. Cory and Vicky are smart! As a new mom, they answered all of my silly questions and didn’t make me feel silly for asking. I can’t wait to have our next kid just so we can go back and see Dr. Powar, who says that about going to your OB?!

I have been going to Dr. Powar for nearly 30 years. He delivered 2 of my 3 children (I was living out of state with my first). He helped my mom when she needed ovarian surgery. Dr. Powar is simply the very best ob/​gyn I could imagine. If you are lucky enough to be in his care, thank your blessings — I know I do!

Dr. Power is the master of the OBGYN world. He is so experienced and knowledgeable; and yet personable and kind.
I truly think he went far out of his way to fight for my health despite the insurance company and health care ‘guidelines’ suggested I should leave the hospital within a certain number of days after a health scare. I appealed to him and he fought for me to stay in the hospital– Which believe me– was the best scenario because it gave my baby time to just sit still and be born full term. I believe if I had gone home earlier; I would have given birth at 30, not 37 weeks (which as many know could be a death sentence for the child).
He is so focused on the positive health outcome of his patients that all else becomes secondary. While my husband and I were focused on the new child coming into our lives; he has his eye on the ball navigating all the challenges. We trust him implicitly.
He was recommended to me by a doctor that I have the world’s respect for and Dr. Power turned out to be the perfect match for us. If you care about the health of your baby and yourself, this is the right doctor for you.

I’ve been going to Dr. Powar (on the GYN side of things) for almost fifteen years now, and I can’t say enough kind things about he and his staff! He’s extremely competent and has a very calming bedside manor. As soon as I walk through the door, his staff is there to welcome me, answer all my questions and make my trip to his office as plelasant as possible. If you’re looking for a great OBGYN complimented by an exceptional staff, give Dr. Powar a call!

Dr. Powar is absolutely great! He’s impeccably punctual, very nice, calm, super professional. I had my baby girl through vaginal delivery with him and Dr. Powar was amazing at birth. He came to check on me soon after I got admitted and then came for the delivery. I completely trust him and his medical knowledge and abilities and I’m looking forward to having him again as my OB for my next baby!
His staff is great too. His nurse Vicky is super nice, always patiently answering our questions and being super helpful.

Dr. Powar is the man. He delivered our first born and, all going well, he will deliver our second in a couple of weeks. He’s a no-​nonsense, knowledgeable, cool-​as-​a-​cat OB with a dryer than dry, endearing sense of humor. He knows what he’s doing, he’s on top of things, he’s extremely responsive, and he’s experienced. Most importantly, we trust him.
And the front-​desk is great. Don’t believe the other Crazy Lady on Unilocal who had her beef with them. We’ve been extremely happy with everything they’ve done for us. The front-​desk folks are competent, friendly, and very helpful.

Dr. Powar was nice, I have no problem with him.
We had the billing issue with his office, they kept sending me the wrong bills, i noticed the billing office, the lady still sent me 11 wrong bills, they were all for the same visit but all different amount! So which amount I should pay? My husband and I asked them couple times to fix the bill with insurance company, and send us the correct bill, so we could pay for it, the lady complained about that we only paid the minimum amount… Of course, for an over $ 1000 bill, i have to pay it until i receive the correct bill. We finally got the correct bill, it took them about 6 months, plus we had to do all the work by ourself. My question is, IF THE PATIENT HAS TO DO ALL THE BILLING WORKS, WHY YOU NEED A BILLING OFFICE?
Also, one of the front desk girl has no personality, she doesn’t know how to smile at all. I don’t know what’s her issue, but I’ve heard other patients complained about her too. When I first visit the office, i gave her twice of my insurance info (fax + copy) but she still messed up… So later on when I contact the office to get my lab results, I always asked for another lady, once when this no personality girl answered phone, she suddenly started to screaming at me «why you are yelling at me?!!» Emmmm, I wanted to know hat too, Why am i screaming at you when I asked «can i talked to XXX?» You have mental problems girl! GO for a check up!!! I’m still VERY MAD about this girl about what she was saying, all I asked was «Can I talk to someone?» She was crazy losing her mind!!!
This probably was my worst experience with OB Gyn dr. Dr. Powar really should hire some nicer people!

Dr Powar is awsome. My wife and me were extremely pleased with him. He answered all our questions, was very calm and assuring. He picked up our calls at all times. Did all the Ultrasounds/​tests and exams himself. Picked up our call from the hospital at 2 – 00 AM. Was there on time for the delivery. His staff are also very nice and helpful. His skills are first rate and ask any one at stanford and they will vouch for it.

Even though my little one keeps me very busy and entertained, I miss Dr. Powar. He’s like a rock — all-​knowing and calm despite any challenges. His calm presence makes him feel like a wise Grandfather. I generally hadn’t appreciated doctors before, but I felt very at ease with Dr. Powar and respect him tremendously. He does most of his work with patients himself, such as his own ultrasounds rather than a tech and he has a fantastic track record of making his patient’s births even while on a ‘vacation’. He even gave me a hug on my last visit!
I also love his nurse, the kindest, smartest and funniest one I’ve met.
Lastly, his office runs extremely smoothly. Always on time, always available to fit in an appointment, and always quick visits.
I look forward to Dr. Powar introducing my next baby!

I had an emergency c section for our twins and he did an awesome job.
He is always so zen it put us at ease during and after the pregnancy. Reminded us very much of Dr Geary, our dr in Ireland.
He also has wicked mad skills. I got so many compliments about the lack of scar from every doctors and nurses during mt stay at lpch.
I totally would go back if I have another baby!

Dr Powar alone works like a big specially trained crisis intervention brigade. He identified the situation as high risk (my waters had dried up suddenly by a Monday morning routine appointment, at 36.5 weeks gestation), but he did not panic, et me go home, collect my husband and we then delivered our baby girl by induction in the evening. No tears and no cuts, despite the fact that I had had episiotomy when giving birth to my first baby (in another state). Dr Powar is calmly present, knows his stuff and is much recommended. I have read 10 star reviews of him on an internal parents’ list in one of the schools our daughter went to; he was recommended not just as a professional but also as a Mensch. +1001!

He is the best ObGyn you can get in the bay area!!!
His medical knowledge and skills is absolute outstanding, combined with the best bed site manners ever. I felt so safe the entire time of my pregnancy which is so important. He answered al my question and addressed all of my concerns immediately.
The office stuff is the reflection of his standards and extremely helpful and nice!!!

I agree very much to all the comments above. I became Dr. Powar’s pt when I got pregnant after a miscaariage. Obviously, I was a very scared patient, but my doctor was a very sweet, understanding doctor. Even during tests, I was so afraid but he would explain everything as we go along so I would know what to expect and not be terrified. I introduce him to my daughter a few years after she was born and she loved him. I also
recommended him to everyone I meet including my newly married niece.
Did I tell you that that was 20+ years ago and my daughter and I still
hold him in great steem.

Very nice ob. i went to him b/​c he was recommended by all the ob/​gyn residents at Stanford when I asked who was the best private ob (that is, non stanford)
he was there for all my visits. his office is easy to park, next to a lab.
a very calm presence. he does a plastics closure and prides himself on its. so the scar from my c-​section is minimal.
my only suggestion is that all c-​sections should automatically get an abdominal binder! make sure you ask for one. it helps a LOT with the pain and recovery.

I don’t every write online reviews, but I thought that I get the word out. Dr Powar helped deliver our second daughter at LPCH less than a month ago. As a second-​time c-​section, my wife has been very happy (maybe even ecstatic?) about the experience. Jags delivered our first child too, a couple years ago.
With both pregnancies, she appreciated his friendly demeanor during office/​hospital visits. She thinks his expertise in the OR is also first-​rate (she also happens to be a physician). I guess another trip to K&L is in order so I can get him a thank-​you present!
