Description

Specialties

I am a college consultant working in Palo Alto and the greater Bay Area. In my workshops and private consulting, I ask students to think anew about their experiences and interests, and to gain a clear sense of what they offer to those around them.

Together we create a sound college list, formulate a fresh, authentic and compelling personal essay, and look ahead at the challenges of college. My approach enlivens the college admissions process and puts students on track to have the engaged college experience they seek.

History

Established in 2006.

I bring to college admissions consulting a passion for teaching and advising that spans fifteen years, both coasts, public and private schools, the «Small Ivy League» and faith affiliated colleges. In my advising I rely on a solid understanding of current developments in academia and how this shapes the admissions process. In helping students with their essays I draw especially on my teaching methodologies as a college instructor of creative writing and academic composition.

I work in the greater Bay Area and beyond (via Internet and phone).

Meet the Business Owner

Felicia F.

Business Owner

It is a delight to work with so many bright and interesting students from all over the Bay Area and to see them through this exciting transition! What I like most about my work is that I get to help students figure out what they want in college, to see their core selves and present their most inspired stories.

Some things you may want to know about me:

I have a background in creative writing and critical thinking. I like to make consulting a fun yet serious activity that brings out the best in my students and allows them to see their full potential.

I come from a family of academics who have worked in the humanities and medical sciences, and in the highest administrative offices for over thirty years.

I stay informed of the transforming landscape of academia to better track the latest developments on college campuses and to help my students navigate the schools and programs they are most interested in.
