If only I could give more than 5 stars. My Honda died on me suddenly, and after finding Elite on Unilocal,I called them in desperation. I spoke with Sonny, who was really helpful and said to bring my car over. He fitted me into his busy schedule and ran some diagnostics, tried to fix what was wrong, and then gave me the news about the sad state that my car was in. Even though he couldn’t do the repair work, he offered suggestions about how to fix my car, insights into how it happened, and overall was a great source of information and helpful advice. If I lived closer to this place I would bring every car I had to him, and would trust everything he recommended. Needless to say, I am impressed with the integrity, price, and straightforwardness of Elite. I’ve seen my share of shady mechanics, and Sonny stands out as a really honest and sweet guy. Thank you, Sonny!

I am a regular customer of Sonny and his dad because they are super honest and straightforward. They are kind to students too, especially those who may like cars but know nothing about them.
Sonny went as far as listing ALL the options I had for fixing my part: shop bought parts and labor costs, self-​bought part off Amazon and shop labor costs, as well as options around not fixing it at all. Also how to fix stuff at home by myself. No stupid fluff! Just a friend who runs a business and is willing to help!

The Elite Auto guys are quick, low cost and thoughtful. They didn’t try to sell me unnecessary items and even referred me elsewhere for a fix they couldn’t do onsite. Discount given to Stanford students so definitely let them know, if that applies.

Sonny and his dad are excellent, honest people. They saved me $ 700 by inspecting my car and assuring me that repairs another garage recommended were not needed. They did a thorough inspection and even assured me the car was fine by bringing me in the garage to look at the car myself. All of this was for free. Couldn’t recommend them enough!

Overall, a very good experience when I needed a part of my AC system replaced. Sonny and his father were very busy, but Sonny always answered the phone courteously, and usually left me with a really excellent picture of what was going on, what needed to be done, and what the time lines were (e.g., when parts would be ordered, when they were expected, why they request a deposit for special parts, etc.). Sonny seemed very conscientious as well as kind, and willing to explain things, and he also let me email photos to help explain my car’s problem beforehand.
Most important, though, my car got fixed. :)
Bonus: They recommended a solid Persian restaurant. Kheyli mamnoon!

Sonny and his dad are fantastic. They are honest and straightforward, so refreshing in the auto repair world. I trust them implicitly and they are also generally kind and helpful.

I can’t praise these guys enough. My splash shield got partially dislodged and Michael took the time to quickly fix it. Even though this was a simple fix, two other shops in the area dismissed me saying their techs had gone home. They charged me a ridiculously low amount which I was too embarrassed to pay so I tipped generously. Highly recommended.

We recently had a major auto repair, and our entire experience with Sonny and Elite Auto Performance was excellent. He went above and beyond to explain our options and even suggested ways for us to save money. They were fast, professional, and friendly. I highly recommend EAP.

I love this shop, Sonny and Michael are the best people and are my go to people for our 3 cars. They are very honest, and regularly top off my oil and inflate my tires for free when I come for a service. They also try to save you money by telling you when it’s ok to defer maintenance for awhile before changing something whereas someone else might just charge you to replace it. They will also search different markets for parts to get you the best price. I trust them completely. More than once I’ve taken my car there after going elsewhere and once sonny figured out how to get my radio to work for free where the honda dealer required $ 200 for the basic service of looking at it. Sonny once also took apart the engine fan relay and put it back in when it wouldn’t turn off. And he didn’t charge me!

Sonny replaced my badly bashed and cello-​taped side mirror in a few hours for a reasonable price which was mostly parts. The labor fee was a minimal $ 10. Strongly advise this place.

I had an excellent experience at Elite Auto Performance getting an oil change. Will definitely return in the future.

Don’t want to ding you guys BUT YOU ARE NOT A SMOG TEST STATION ANYMORE. You should update your business category to exclude this. That is all.

Elite Auto performance is the only shop that charged me less than the estimate since they realized (after looking around) certain services weren’t needed.

I was back here again today and these guys are still awesome! I came by without an appointment and they were still able to help me right away. They even remembered me despite the fact that I hadn’t been there in over a year.
My brake lights had stopped working and I really wanted to get the problem fixed today. They explained what the problem could be, took a look, and determined that the switch connecting the brake to the lights had gone bad. They let me know my car actually had a recall notice for this exact issue (and they made me aware of another recall issue on this model as well… yikes). They were able to get the part and fix it within a few hours, even more quickly than they originally quoted me. I hung out at the Starbucks across the street sipping a Frappucino and enjoying the AC — the best way to get your car fixed! The price was right and they even offer a student discount.
This place is small and if you blink you might miss it — it’s around the back of a Valero station with a smallish sign out front. But it’s worth finding! This father/​son team is super friendly, knowledgeable and efficient. Seriously, the best.

My turning light doesn’t work. And it was my first time to go to a auto repair shop. The first shop I went to did not fix it, telling me that the flasher broke down and no right type flasher was at the shop. Then I found this shop at Unilocal and drove my car there. Sunny spent only one minute and told me it was the light bulb that didn’t work rather than the flasher. He told me to buy the bulbs with offset pins rather than the straight pins. He was so kindhearted that he changed the light bulb for free. Thanks very much.

I came in today for a pre-​purchase inspection of a used car — Sonny and Michael were absolutely AMAZING! I wish there were a way to give them a rating of more than 5 stars, because for the quality of service that you get, that is certainly what they deserve.
Quick background — I’m a female student who knows absolutely nothing about cars. I don’t know engine oil from transmission. Sonny and Michael were extremely detailed in their inspection of the car, allowed me to watch them working, and pointed out all the problematic areas to me clearly. In addition, Sonny also took the time to explain in great detail and clarity what the problem was, and the implications of it on my driving or future repair costs in simple terms that I could understand without any problems! He was also very patient and probably explained the same thing to me a few times over at different points throughout the inspection, since I kept forgetting what the terms meant.
For the pre-​purchase inspection, they will inspect the car mechanically under the hood and under the car, and then take it out for a test drive to see how it runs. Sonny was also very detailed in checking the accessories of the car, checking every single button and even discovering that the button for the auto windup of a window was a little stuck and wouldn’t work unless you yanked really hard on it. The level of detail which he went into was just great. You definitely want this guy to be checking out any cars you’re thinking of buying.
After all of that, you get a list of found issues, thoughtfully typed out so that you don’t have to scramble around taking notes during the actual inspection, and a quote on the repairs that they can provide you if you choose to fix the issues found with them. And why wouldn’t you, for this level of attention?! There is also a student discount, which definitely helps, though I’d say Sonny and Michael deserved the full price for all the work they’ve done. Will definitely be back.

Not sure why I haven’t reviewed Elite Auto yet, but here it is:
Michael and Sonny are a father/​son duo that run the shop. I’ve been going to them for all of my oil changes and repair work for several years. The shop can get busy, so a walk-​in (drive-​in?) for an oil change may not be possible. That said, the times I’ve called to make an appointment for an oil change, they have usually been able to get me in within 24 hours. The change itself only takes 20 – 30 minutes, and I’ve yet to see a day where they were running behind schedule.
The most significant repair I’ve had done here was to get my worn brake pads replaced. The work was done quickly, and the final invoice even came in at less than the original quote!
Finally, they’re a great resource for getting in contact with other types of automotive repair people. For example, I needed glass repair work done, and they referred me to a local guy who did a fantastic job.
All in all, this is what I wish all small businesses could be like: competent, efficient, friendly, and honest. Thanks for the great work, guys!

Great auto service.
I ordered oil change and free inspection. Mike is good and careful mechanic. I watched for 30 minutes and found out very reliable. I made appointment, and he started exactly at that time and finished in 30 minutes as promised.
Sonny is his son and mechanic. He also worked as receptionist. He is very friendly. I can recommend this auto for everybody in Stanford area. You can get some discount as Stanford community.

Just had an oil change with them. They are really awesome. Very well answered all my questions. If you want to learn something new about your car — go talk to these guys!
They also suggest different options and recommend what’s really best for your particular case. I really feel like trusting them my car next time.
With regards the prices, just check the retail price of the oil they suggest vs. cheap crap from the dealer and you know who’s cheating.

I came in to diagnose a check engine light. I didn’t even turn the car off– the guy came out with the computer, hooked it up, told me the code and reset the system. I was in and out in five minutes and he didn’t charge me or even so much as ask my name.
There are places nearby that will charge over $ 100 and take two days for the exact same service, so this was a very pleasant surprise.
This is not a full-​service shop, he did mention that if it happened again and I needed transmission work I would have to go elsewhere, but for simple things like this, it is a great place to go.
