History
Established in 1988.
diPietro Todd Salon first opened its doors on Post Street in San Francisco in 1988, spearheaded by the husband and wife team of Kim and Andrew Todd, along with partner, the late John diPietro. Kim directed her focus on the business side while Andrew remained on the artistic. This division of labor has proved to be successful, for in the 25+ years since the launch of diPietro Todd Salon, the company has expanded throughout the Bay Area, opening a total of 5 locations thus far (Mill Valley, Palo Alto, Walnut Creek and 2 locations in SF).
diPietro Todd Salon prides itself on employing and training the most talented cutters and colorists in the industry. Ranked at the top of the beauty salon business, diPietro Todd is involved in numerous fashion shows, editorial work and photo shoots. We are the market leader for every product line carried by the company. diPietro Todd Salon originated on the cutting edge of the beauty salon industry and remains at the forefront today.
Meet the Business Owner
Chris D.
Business Owner
Even though Chris David grew up with 80s new wave hair on his mind, it was not where he thought life would take this Detroit native. Not until he had moved to Washington DC and started to date a hairdresser did Chris David realize there might be something to this ‘hair’ thing. When the salon needed a part time receptionist he filled the position, and realized he had found his home. Spending the next seven years working behind the desk and managing the salon, Chris mastered all of the inner workings to ensure this boutique salon ran smoothly. After much encouragement and after-work teaching from the staff, Chris moved to San Francisco and progressed through the diPietro Todd training program. He fulfilled his dream of getting out from behind the desk and onto the cutting floor behind a chair. Kim and Andrew Todd took notice of his professionalism and organization skills, along with his eye for detail in his work and asked Chris to join them as their partner in the Palo Alto location.
