Dr. Dutro treats musculoskeletal pain and dysfunction using a wide variety of approaches that are blended to meet the unique needs of each individual. Approaches include:
— Gentle spinal manipulation and mobilization
— Multiple soft tissue techniques including: Active Release Techniques (ART), proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation, myofascial trigger point, and Graston.
— Physical therapy modalities including: ultrasound, electrical muscle stimulation, manual and mechanical traction.
— Instruction in ergonomics and body mechanics, exercise core strengthening and stabilization.
As a runner, cyclist and master swimmer, she brings both a personal and professional awareness and appreciation of athletics to my practice. Dr. Dutro’s patients include swimmers, rowers, cyclists, divers, vaulters, ice skaters including Olympic and world champions.
History
Established in 1981.
Dr. Dutro started her private practice, Dutro Chiropractic, in 1981. In 1990 she founded and moved to the Midtown Natural Health offices, where she is co-located with other practitioners of healing arts including massage therapy, acupuncture, and nutrition consultation.

After graduating from Palmer College of Chiropractic-West (PCC-W), Dr. Dutro was voted Most Outstanding New Chiropractor by the California Chiropractic Association. For more than 20 years she has continued to serve PCC-W, first in clinical research and as a continuing education lecturer, and currently as a faculty clinician. Her private practice, Dutro Chiropractic, is located in Midtown Palo Alto and has been serving patients since 1981. Dr. Dutro is also a Chiropractic Consultant for the nonprofit Riekes Center for Human Enhancement in Menlo Park.
