Creekside Inn

The man who welcomed us upon arrival and departure was very pleasant and professional. The room was clean, the ambiance good and the grounds are well maintained
However, the acoustics in in the building is poor. We could hear the neighbors next door and above us. The people above us stayed up until 4am talking and laughing or simply walking around their room. They were not excessively loud, but since the acoustics is so poor we did not get a very good night sleep.
We talked to the manager in the morning to voice our feedback on the noise, and she basically talked over us and did not listen to what we were trying to tell her. She also insisted that we should have called the front desk to complain in the middle of the night instead of waiting til the morning.
We did not have a complaint about the guest, our dissatisfaction had to do with the acoustics of the building. I don’t think the upstairs neighbors were being excessively loud and complaining about them did not seem right.
In any case, Give this place a try, but request an upstairs room.

Great Customer Service! Clean.
Only negative is that you can hear hallway noise. I can sleep through anything, but if you are a light sleeper it might bother you.

Awesome place to stay! Very quick to bring anything to room you need. Free wine at night. Free local shuttle. Awesome shuttle drivers. Everyone is super friendly. Can’t say enough good. Stayed a week for work. Will always stay here when in town.

Creekside Inn has THE WORST front desk team. I made two reservations for business guests 29 days ago. Called 5 times and sent 3 emails in that time requesting a credit card authorization form so that our guests’s rooms would be paid in advance. Three days ago I finally received and returned the authorization and was assured via email that everything was in place. No surprise: our VIPs checked out this morning and had to pay for their rooms. Inexcusable service for a hotel that, during peak times like this week, commands $ 300+ for rooms that are not worth half that.

Getting straight to the point, things I didn’t like:
1. Long hold times each time I called was placed on hold right away and for long periods of time.
2. Long wait for the courtesy vehicle.
3. Staff friendly and helpful but one lady had a smart remark and was very rude. Although over all the staff was friendly and helpful.
4. Once we go back to the room to go to bed. pulled down the sheets to find someone’s hair and trash in the bed, that my KIDS were supposed to sleep in. The lady came to change it but my husband was already sleeping in the other bed so that was awkward plus instead.
5. Too many SPIDERS!
6. They need to serve orange juice or apple juice in the mornings for people who don’t like coffee and for children.
7. Long walk to ice machine
Overall if it weren’t for the dirty sheets I could over look that other things and stay there again. All of the staff but the one lady was very helpful and polite.

The Creekside Inn was perfect. My clean and comfortable room overlooked the lush ivy covered creek and gave me the perfect place to relax in a quiet private setting. The staff was kind and very helpful and efficient.
Dinner at Cibo — the onsite restaurant — was delicious with an excellent wine list. I will definitely come back the next time I am in Palo Alto.

I stayed here for business and had a great time. It is affordable compared to other hotels in the area, but you get so much more value for your money than any 4+ star hotel.
Here are some great reasons that put it above other hotels in the area:
1. Happy hour (2 free glasses of wine Sun-​thurs)
2. Every amenity possibly imagined. In addition to the usual, this included: lip balm, moisturizer, q-​tips, wine bottle opener, fridge, 2 bottles of water daily.
3. Clean QUIET pool.
4. Nice garden & landscaping
5. Patio with 2 chairs
6. Free Wifi that worked like it should (most 4.5+ hotels I’ve stayed in make you pay up the butt for this)
It doesn’t look like much from the street, but it has been completely remodeled on the inside and was very clean and modern, especially the bathroom.
The staff was friendly and helpful when I checked in also.

The location is very convenient. Close to Stanford University. There’s a few food options in the area. The only issue I’ve had here was housekeeping. We’ve been away from 7:30AM to 12:30PM. We were expecting the room to have been fixed and fresh towels when we came back. I had to go to the lobby and ask.

I really enjoyed staying here! The staff is friendly and helpful and the lush gardens and greenery around this place make for a rather enchanting and relaxing experience. Having your own balcony that overlooks the creek, pool or lush vegetation is very nice. I spent part of the day at the pool, was able to get towels down there. The inside of the room was just as nice as any other hotel but nothing beats the energy and vibe that’s created with the gardens you’re surrounded by. A bonus was the deli right around the corner you could walk to, I only wish they had been open on Sunday! Enjoyed breakfast at Cibo’s attached to the hotel, their hummus was to die for! I would return and recommend this place for sure. Thank you Creekside Inn for helping make our vacation a great one!

I’ve stayed in Palo Alto many times but this was the first time at Creekside. The room was comfy with all the amenities frequent travelers expect, plus a lovely balcony overlooking the creek and the oak trees. The restaurant staff was hardworking and did their best to accommodate us for meals, drinks, etc. The grounds are lovely and have several patios for lounging. I will definitely stay here again!

I stayed here for business and it was a great choice. It’s a hotel clearly designed and priced for business travelers or well-​off parents of Stanford students. The room was clean, updated, and with great amenities. I stayed in a room that had a view overlooking the pool, which is heated to 80 degrees. When I stayed, they were repaving one of the parking lots, which was blocked off. I didn’t have a problem parking, but the construction was quite noisy during the day. The only problem I had was that to get into the ‘tower’ building next to the pool, which is where my room was, I always had to swipe my card twice as the door never opened on the first try. Frustrating when your arms are full and you’re tired after a long day.
Service at the front desk was always friendly and I never had to wait in line to see someone.
Their complimentary breakfast is extremely scanty– pastries, tea and coffee. Better than nothing, but not what I would call breakfast. For something more hearty, I would head to Driftwood Deli and Market for an egg sandwich which is only a couple of dollars.
The grounds here are beautiful, with plants everywhere, and a footbridge crossing a picturesque ravine. The feeling is peaceful and very similar to Dinah’s Garden Hotel.
Creekside Inn has a free shuttle you can book with them in advance. If you are a business traveler, you might be able to use this to get back and forth to the office (if you need that).
One of the best things about Creekside inn is the Driftwood Deli and Market which is located on the hotel grounds. Not only does it serve some of the best sandwiches around, you can also pick up an espresso, ice cream, protein bars and groceries there. It’s like a super convenience store crossed with your excellent local sandwich shop.

This place was actually super cute. It is a little odd, almost like it was once an apartment complex. It is clean, although maybe a little understaffed.

I was recently in Palo Alto for a business trip and like to take my Wife and Kids with me as much as possible so I wanted them to have a nice place to stay while I was in meetings all day. I saw the Creekside Inn and after reading that they had a creek running through the property, I reserved it, hoping that my Kids could play around the creek. When I called to make the reservations, it seemed that they were short staffed as he had to call me back with whether they had a room or not, but it wasn’t long, like five minutes and made my reservations okay. We arrived late, around 11:00 pm and checked in. They upgraded us to a nice spacious room with a sofa bed for the two boys and a large king for my Wife and I. The room was nice and the little extras were nice also, like the lip balm next to the soap and shampoo. My Wife liked that. The front desk folks were helpful and accommodating and trying to meet our every needs.
The next day when I returned to the hotel after being gone all day, my Kids informed me that the creek was dry, but a walk around proved to be really nice as the grounds were an oasis of trees and shrubbery that cooled the whole place off. I was ready to be disappointed at the creek being dry, but my Kids actually liked that because they could actually play in the creek since it didn’t have water. (Most likely due to the drought) There were gates all around to keep guests from going down to the creekbed, but we hopped the fence and walked the length of the creek until it went underneath the roadway which my Kids considered that as a cave and thought it was very cool. They found little treasures and loved the time they spent at the hotel which made it a success in our books. The café attached to the hotel had great fries and we ate there twice during our stay. It was quiet and serene while we were there and we would go back if I have business again in Palo Alto.

My grandpa is Antonio Contreras and has worked for this team for many years! He was the shuttle driver shown in the photo. Sadly he has passed away but was such an outstanding man. Loving, sweet, hardworking, dedicated and always wearing a smile. He will be deeply missed! He loved this job! They were an amazing crew that he considered family!

What a great little hotel. Recently remodeled, you’re close to Stanford University and downtown Palo Alto. The hotel/​motel is super cute, nice swimming pool, clean and spacious. Great place for family or if you’re traveling on business. I would definitely stay again.

This is a nice quiet hotel situated conveniently in Palo Alto. My husband and I and our two kids stayed here one night while visiting family in the area.
The room was nice, a bit on the chilly side (we were here in December) and took a bit to warm up and the beds were definitely not five star but comfortable enough. We liked the pull out couch for our 6 year old. The beds don’t seem big enough to sleep a 7 month pregnant lady and an average size husband comfortably so he shared with the 3 year old. The room was a nice size and the towels and toiletries were not perfumey but fresh. The continental breakfast had good coffee with real half & half and tasty pastries. The buildings and grounds are really pretty, this looks like a nice place to chill out. We will definitely stay here again.

Very enjoyable, clean and quiet stay. We were upgraded from a deluxe to a junior suite. The patio was spacious but not that private.
My only dissatisfaction was how the bathroom door swung out against the room. It felt a little architecturally awkward and not warming.
All in alla good stay, but probably wouldn’t be my first choice to return.

I called Creekside Inn to make a hotel reservation for the upcoming Stanford Reunion in October. A gentleman picked up the phone and said, «I’m with someone else right now and cannot give you my undivided attention. Can I get your number so I can call you back in 10 minutes?» I gave the gentleman my phone number. He did not call me back in 10 minutes. He did not call me back the next day. Or the day after that. Or the week after that. It’s been 10 days and I still have not received a call back.
It’s okay though because we are staying at another hotel near Stanford. Perhaps Creekside Inn has so many clients that they do not care for new ones.

It has its humble appearances from the outside, but don’t be afraid as I was; this place is so cute! It’s really cozy, serene and a relaxing place to crash after a day of exploring Stanford/​navigating the crowds on University Boulevard.
The hotel patio (which was a first time amenity for me!) was a good place to relax, the room was more spacious than most for the price, I didn’t try the pool but it looked well-​kept for being around so much gardening, and the hotel’s location was in walking distance to a good number of restaurants. Complimentary water is also always a plus!
My main complaint would be that the walls (obviously) are pretty thin. My partner and I were laying against the headboard of the bed, simply talking with our inside voices, only to have our neighbor come banging on our door at midnight telling us to be quieter. ??? Okay.
Anywho, we usually arrive in Palo Alto by Caltrain. And it’s difficult to find a place to stay for the night close to University, but if you want someplace nice that won’t break you, this is totally what I would recommend.
