Established in 2009.

Who decides to open a recruiting firm when nobody is hiring? Gutsy 28-​year-​old Carolyn Betts when unemployment was at a 16-​year all-​time high. In 2009, Carolyn was convinced she could make a difference for startup organizations on a local level and opened shop in San Francisco. Founded in her own apartment, Betts has grown to have two locations and have partnerships with over 500 innovative companies. Carolyn found a niche and specialized in sales, marketing and business development positions for SaaS companies. In just three years, Carolyn managed to grow her business, Betts Recruiting into an industry thought-​leader. The company has placed over eight hundred candidates in just three years of business.

I have significant experience in recruiting and sales, and even more passion and excitement about helping companies find the best employees and assisting people to find «the perfect job».

I am a graduate of the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill. Following graduation, I began a career in sales. In my first year as an Outside Sales professional in a high turnover industry, it became obvious to me how important it is to hire the right people. I began my career as a recruiter at a boutique firm in San Francisco and later joining Career​Builder​.com as a Sales Executive.

I have experience with companies of all sizes and in multiple industries, with advanced knowledge in the technology and online advertising worlds.

I am excited to leverage my years of experience to offer clients customized strategies to find the talent they are looking for and to assist job seekers in finding the job of their dreams.

I had an amazing experience working with this recruiting agency! I personally worked with Megan. She was always extremely responsive and helpful. I could text her 24⁄7 and she’d always get back to me right away. She is full of helpful advice and tips. She coached me for all my interviews and correspondence with possible employers. I quickly had several interviews and got an offer within 2 weeks of working with Betts! I’m a recent college grad with little work experience, so I’m astounded with how quickly they were able to place me. I couldn’t be happier! I would definitely recommend working with Betts!

Megan Moran was my recruiter and she went above and beyond to help me find the best position. I have a pretty strict schedule and she was flexible enough to talk with me outside of normal work hours and really got to know what I was looking for in my next employer. Not only was Megan very accommodating she did a great job of helping me prep and debrief before and after all of my interviews. During this process I worked with several other recruiting companies who claimed because of their Software or there technique they were the best. What I quickly found was that many would offer a position that would help them meet there numbers rather as fast as possible rather than really help place each candidate in the right position. Megan was the ONLY recruiter who listened to my feedback and helped select positions that made the most sense. Thanks Megan you’re the best! If you are looking for a recruiting company Betts is the way to go!

I had a very pleasant and educational experience working with Betts Recruiting. They were very professional and prompt with all their correspondences with me. My recruiter was Lynnea Gatdula and she is new to the company. When I met with Lynnea, she worked with Chelsey Middlebrook in order to uncover all of my qualities which a perspective employer would find relevant to the position they had in mind for me. Although I ended up lacking enough work experience to land the job Betts had in mind for me, Lynnea was very helpful in updating my resume, giving me advice for my LinkedIn profile, and even referred me other agencies to work with who might have a better chance getting me a job with my limited work experience.
My last conversation with Lynnea was very upbeat and helpful, and once I have gained a bit more experience at an entry level job, I plan on working again with Betts to find me that dream job!

I had the most amazing experience with Betts! They helped me secure my dream job and did so very efficiently. Within one day of being put into contact with them (by a friend), they assigned me a recruiter, he interviewed me, then pinpointed several reccs that would be a good fit.
My recruiter was David Hipperson. Words cannot express how capable he is. He’s a great listener, very thorough/​detail oriented, and really sets you up to succeed. He made himself available 24/​7, literally, to prep/​provide feedback.
Within 1 week I had 7 interviews, and with his preparation/​feedback was able to move onto second and third round interviews. Ultimately I secured a position with a company that was exactly what I was looking for.
I know this experience wouldn’t have been as seamless without David and the other great team members at Bett’s! I highly recommend them!

I highly recommend going through Betts if you’re looking to pursue an opportunity in the South Bay. When you do, ask for David Hipperson.
Working with David was one of the best decisions in my career, and easily the best experience I’ve had with a recruiter. David loaded my calendar with quality interviews and was constantly available to recap and prep for the next step. But most importantly, during our initial discovery call, the first company David suggested I interview with was the company I eventually accepted a job with (and have loved since day one). He has a real sense for his candidates’ needs.
I won’t be looking for a new job anytime soon (since I love my job!), but if the time comes to work with a recruiter again, David will be the first call I make.

With myriad options for a modern day sales professional to choose from, Betts recruiting consistently remains at the top for a few reasons. David Hipperson, my recruiter, worked tirelessly to ensure that my top choices (actually, just one incredible opportunity) were not only given due thought, but also made me feel like I was the only person he was working to place.
What made the experience most memorable, however, was his style of not selling the sales-​guy. In short, as salespeople understood the common tactics (pushy-​ness, overly aggressive, etc.), David managed to channel urgency and at the same time carried an undertone of patience. David took the time to listen to my enthusiasm about the opportunity, helped me prep accordingly, and synced up with the placement company to keep me posted.
There are many ways to win a salesperson’s business – with patience, diligence, and customer-​first mentality, David certainly won.

Zach Paulson was my recruiter when I was making a career transition recently. As a recruiter, Zach is not only highly effective but he’s a pleasure to work with. My entire interview and placement process took about four weeks, during which Zach was in constant contact with me by phone, email, and text. He provided honest, open feedback and coached me through the interview process (I was out of practice!) and walked me through the steps to switching industries. As a candidate I couldn’t have asked for a more committed recruiter, and his results speak for themselves. Chelsey Middlebrook was also hugely helpful when I was weighing my options and struggling a little bit.
