Arbor Tutors advised which was the best calculus class my son needed to take. After my son made changes to his schedule, it was not necessary to have the level of tutoring we had purchased. Arbor Tutors returned the money quickly and without question. The tutor we spoke with was highly knowledgeable. I would recommend this company.

I worked with Steven specifically to improve my GRE Quant score. He was great at focusing on my weaknesses, giving me practical «quick tips» and testing strategies as well as conceptual knowledge. He uses an internet-​based tutoring platform; initially I was very skeptical. However, this allowed me a ton of flexibility in terms of tutoring times/​locations that fit my hectic work schedule. I found the convenience of this to outweigh the potential negatives of not having someone actually watch how you solve all the problems. Plus, having to explain my problem solving process out loud helped me realize where I was messing up.
Even though I wanted to work on my quant score, he also gave me tips for the verbal section that I could practice on my own – both scores ended up rising my second time around in the GRE.
He gives you a lot of homework to do, and all of it’s valuable. And he’s excellent at breaking problems down into problem types to give you a framework in which to solve the different problems on the test. He also kept in touch during the month or so I was doing prep with him and made me feel like he was really invested in my success. Overall, couldn’t be better!

I purchased a tutoring package with Steven. I’ll echo what everyone else is saying around town: you are getting the best GMAT prep available, and Steven was an extremely experienced and animated instructor.
To its credit, Arbor Tutor’s GMAT prep is intelligent and strategic. It helps you zero in on your strengths and weaknesses. And then gives you plenty of additional resources to improve your weak areas. I was doing poorly on my practice exams, scoring a 500.
After a carefully constructed individualized plan, I followed all Steven’s advice and improved more than I could have imagined. It was definitely hard work, but well worth every penny.
I would recommend Steven to anyone looking for math or English test prep for the GRE or GMAT

I contacted Arbor Tutors because I needed help to get into grad school for computer science. My tutor was totally awesome. He helped me with both the quantitive (math) and verbal (English) portions of the GRE. My score went up by over 50 points! My tutor was fun, knowledgeable and easy to understand.
They have a lot of Stanford, Berkeley and Ivy League grads. I guess you could say that they are the French Laundry of tutoring companies at a budget friendly price. I wish I could give 100 stars. Highly recommended! I’ll be going back for help with TOEFL and my applications.
